Epilogue

SAWYER

INDIE: We’re headed to the hospital!

JENSEN: Keep us updated

SAWYER: I’m so proud of you—you’re going to be amazing

INDIE: Dammit, Sawyer, now I’m crying and I’m makin’ Beau nervous

JENSEN: Since when are you the favorite brother?

SAWYER: Not sorry

“ M y sister is headed to the hospital,” I tell Hallie, a smile spreading across my face as she sips her coffee.

“Do they know what they’re having?”

“They wanted it to be a surprise, but I think it’s a boy.”

“Why do you think that?” she asks, propping her chin on her hand, but I don’t really have an answer. “I don’t think Beau is ready for a tiny version of my sister. Not yet, at least.”

“And what about you?”

“You askin’ if I wanna put a baby in you, Hallie?” I tease, watching as her cheeks pinken and she licks her lips. “Just say the word.”

“I don’t think I’m ready to give up you making me come on every available surface of the house just yet.”

“You think having a baby will make me want to stop getting you naked?”

“No, but we’d have to be more careful.”

“Creative.”

“What?”

“Not careful so much as creative.” After a slow perusal of her body, I wink. “I have plenty of ideas.”

“I don’t doubt that for a second.”

“Honestly, I’m much more interested in how long until I can marry you.”

“Maybe a little longer,” she says, her lips lifting up on one side. “It’s barely been a month. Oh! That reminds me!” Sliding a package over to me, she grins. “They came too late so we’ll have to wait till next year.”

Tearing open the plastic, I grab the two items inside and drop them onto the counter. “What are these?”

“Open them,” she says, rolling her eyes like it should be obvious.

And okay, it is.

The shirts are matching, black with gold lettering that reads Beehive Yourself .

“Aren’t they cute?” Hallie squeals, almost vibrating she’s so excited. “For National Honeybee Day!”

Was that really only a few weeks ago?

It feels like I’ve lived a lifetime since then, but I wouldn’t change it.

I wouldn’t change it at all.

Shaking my head, I smile because I’ve never been a themed-shirt guy and I’ve certainly never needed to match anyone, but this is pretty perfect.

Perfect for us.

“I love them,” I tell her, rounding the counter to cup her face in my hands. “I love you. ”

“That’s good, because I love you too.”

“Good, now let’s go see how many times I can make you come before my sister has her baby.”

“That should probably be weird,” she muses before pressing her mouth to mine.

“But you like it,” I taunt, nibbling on her bottom lip before tangling my tongue with hers.

“It’s hot knowing you can deliver on every filthy promise.”

“Well, in that case, you best be gettin’ upstairs because I’ve got plans for you.”
