Chapter One Hundred Four
Kiersten
Someone called her name. Over and over again.
But she was dead.
Wasn’t she?
A lifetime of Lutheran church and Sunday school had prepared her for the hereafter, the place where all tears would be wiped away, a paradise with many mansions, and a room prepared just for her.
Her eyes felt sticky, but she forced them open, blinking. Surely heaven was not a cinder block bunker with a dirt floor?
A headache zigzagged across her befuddled mind as she tried to sit up. Suddenly a metallic scratching came from outside. Then the door flew open.
Piper stood in the doorway, holding a gun.
