Chapter 22

Ishrug off my backpack and guitar while kicking the door closed. I toe off my shoes and set the bag in the small front closet before walking into the open concept main floor of the estate. The living room is mostly put together, only a few straggling boxes littering the ground, their contents unpacked but not put away yet. Jasper must have spent today working on them all. The kitchen is similarly cleaned up, the only evidence of our move over the weekend the single box still unopened on the island counter. Next to it, a large envelope sits unobtrusively. The Council’s insignia in the upper corner is the only marking anywhere on it.

I pick it up, trying to decide if I’m excited for it or not. Registering was always something I’d dreamed of—but knowing it’s only temporary adds a different layer to everything. As does the fact that I’ve found contentment with Jasper and what we’ve created over the last six months.

As if my thoughts summoned him, his laugh echoes through the house, bouncing off the still empty walls. I follow the sound, tucking the envelope under my arm as I move deeper into the place.

“Tesoro, you are messing with fire.” Dominic’s low baritone is nearly inaudible, but it’s enough to know where to go.

It doesn’t surprise me to find Jasper laid out on Dom’s bed, his shirt missing and his sweats low on his hips. He murmurs a curse as Dominic leaves a hickey on his collar bone, one large hand keeping Jasper’s arms locked above his head. Dominic’s mouth trails down his sternum, and he arches on a gasp. There’s not much more arousing than seeing Jasper submitting to Dom’s particular flavor of control. A flash of heat shoots down my spine and settles in my groin.

I knock on the door frame, leaning against the threshold. Both men glance up just as I’m unbuttoning my dress shirt and letting it slip from my shoulders.

“You’re back early,” Jasper says. His eyes skate down my torso, and I smirk. The room is already overloaded with Dom’s scent, but I don’t hold mine back. It mixes well enough. Jasper groans.

“Is that the official notice?” Dominic pulls away from Jasper, releasing his hold and running his hand over his mouth. “It’s early.”

I shrug and hold it out. As Dominic gets up from the bed and picks up his own sweats where they had been forgotten on the floor in front of the bed, Jasper sighs and sits up.

“Six months, and you still manage to give me blue balls, Rylan,” he mutters. His eyes are bright, though, and his shoulders relaxed, so I roll my eyes.

The moment Dominic grabs the envelope, I cross the room and push Jasper onto his back, running my tongue over his hip bone.

“I’ll make it up to you,” I murmur.

He shudders before cursing under his breath, and I chuckle. The moment my hands are on his cock, his moans are filling the room. I luxuriate in the sounds and scent and taste of him, letting the mixed feelings over being official drown under the satisfaction of having Jasper under me.

“Fuck, Ry,” he grunts a moment before his cum is on my tongue.

I’ve barely swallowed and popped off of him when Dominic says, “Next gala is the end of the month. I’ll get the travel details situated. Will you need paperwork for the philharmonic?”

“Fuck, Dom.” Jasper laughs as he urges me toward his mouth. He presses a soft, languid kiss before rolling us so I’m below him. “Let it rest. We have time.”

My chest is light, happiness making it warm. He smirks before he drops kisses down my throat. Dominic stays near the door, reading over something in the packet of information. I comb my fingers through Jasper’s hair.

“Dominic,” Jasper says, a bite to his tone this time. “We’ll deal with it later. Come play.”

Dominic sighs but sets the information on his bedside table. He strips out of his clothes without preamble, grabbing the bottle of specialty lube from the top drawer before settling behind Jasper.

He kisses the spot under Jasper’s ear.

“All right, Tesoro,” he murmurs. Jasper grins into my throat. I grind into his belly. “But only because you asked so nicely.”
