Chapter 53 Tom
TOM
ONE MONTH LATER
“Ican’t believe you got married in Vegas,” Royce says from his pool chair next to mine at the Waldorf Astoria, my wedding ring gleaming in the sun and a smile on my face I can’t wipe off.
“It was pretty perfect honestly.”
“Yeah, but like Vegas.”
He shakes his head and applies another round of sunscreen even though he’s nestled under one of the umbrellas.
“How are you so pale? You live in Nashville.”
“And you pay me to be in front of a computer. I don’t understand where this confusion is coming from.”
“Where are the guys?”
“I think Grimm is at the gym, Jace is sleeping off his night…somewhere, Samson, the girls, and his mom are at one of the kid shows, and Ozzy hooked up with one of the girls from the spa so he’s getting a massage.”
I chuckle as Kat, Emerson, Bailey, and Kinsley make their way across the patio, Kat dropping down onto my chair between my legs. Kinsley does the same with Royce but smooths out the white glob on his nose before leaning back into him.
“I’d almost be upset by this”—Emerson motions between us—“but the distractions are fantastic here.”
Kinsley snorts and Royce frowns. “For her, Roy, not for me.”
“And how is my bride?” I ask quietly, pulling Kat into me so I can whisper in her ear.
“I was sure you’d start calling me your wife as soon as we said I do.”
“That’ll come when we get home.” A little shiver races over her skin and she wiggles against me, forcing me to swallow my groan as I harden against her.
“Looking forward to it.”
“Careful, Kitten, or I’ll throw you over my shoulder right here and take you back to the honeymoon suite.”
“I have rather fond memories of the last time you did that…”
“Hey, quit pawing at my sister,” Colt whines as he joins our little group, Roan and Garrett North on his heels.
Roan snickers but Garrett is oblivious, his eyes locked on Emerson, his gaze heated as he looks her up and down. She returns his interest tenfold, the two of them engaged in some unspoken negotiation.
Poor guy has no idea who he’s dealing with.
Emerson Andrews may look sweet, but there’s a hell of a lot more than just sweet to her, and I just hope for his sake he realizes that.
“I happen to like my husband pawing at me,” Kat teases and Colt pinches the bridge of his nose.
“Technically,” Roan starts, earning a death glare from his friend, “you made this happen. And honestly, look how happy she is.”
Roan is really hamming it up for Colt’s sake, but I can’t deny how good it feels when Kat lays her head back on my shoulder.
“Remind me to give you a raise when we get home,” Kat coos at him.
Colt looks annoyed and shoves Roan into Garrett, the two of them stumbling toward Bailey and Emerson.
And while Roan is able to right himself quickly, Garrett all but tackles Emerson, barely finding his footing before they hit the ground.
She laughs, her arm remaining around his waist while her other hand lays on his chest, and he doesn’t seem to mind.
Oh, this is good.
I can’t wait for her father to catch wind of this.
Last I knew, Cullen and Gwen had commandeered him to one of the other pools with Isla, Hank, and the triplets.
Looks like Vegas is working out for everyone.
“What do you think about heading back to the room before dinner?” Kat murmurs, pushing her sunglasses onto the top of her head as she looks over her shoulder at me. “I think I could use a nap.”
Eyebrows raised and a seductive grin on her lips, there’s no mistaking what kind of nap she wants.
And I’m only too happy to oblige.
Today, and every day after, for the rest of our lives.
