Betrayed Wife Claims Divorce
Prologue
When Zhou Yang came back, I was smashing the Wedding Photos.
The glass frames and crystal stands all shattered under the axe I swung down again and again.
Even that was not enough. I set fire to the bound album of Wedding Photos and let them turn to ash.
Only that seemed able to burn away some of the resentment that had been building inside me for so long.
Black smoke rolled up, thick with a sharp chemical stench.
Zhou Yang just stood quietly to the side, watching through the smoke and the orange firelight, cold and detached.
All these years, he had always been like this.
He never cared about my feelings, my breakdowns, my pain, or my grievances.
Only when those things had completely become ash did he finally lift his head and look at me.
"Feel better?
"If you do, come inside. Winter's here. It's cold out."
His tone was neither cold nor warm, as if nothing I did in that frenzy could touch him at all.
I looked up at him and finally said the words I had held back for so long.
"Zhou Yang, let's get a divorce."
