Chapter 18 I Don’t Know Her

After that, at a chance event, I ran into my mother at the hotel where I was staying.

I had just stepped out of the elevator when I saw her gripping a girl whose clothes were in disarray, slapping her again and again in the hallway.

To the side, a pot-bellied middle-aged man in a bath towel was yanking at her.

I saw him clearly. That man was Song Guowei.

After Song Guowei shoved her to the floor, my mother broke down and screamed.

“Song Guowei, I will never divorce you! As long as I am here, this woman and her son will never set foot through that door!”

Song Guowei shot back just as hard.

“Who do you think you are? Don’t forget how you got into the Song family in the first place!”

Hearing that, she collapsed onto the floor.

Hair wild, she howled like a shrew and drew a crowd.

When her eyes accidentally met mine, she froze for a second.

In the moment our gazes locked, I suddenly remembered a day she had locked me in the villa.

Back then I had sat on the floor the same way, crying and begging her to let me out.

She had only looked down at me without a flicker of feeling and said,

“Until Zhou Yang comes to pick you up, you are going nowhere.

“You will stay right here and behave!”

The assistant beside me asked all of a sudden, “Xin Xin, she seems to be looking at you. Do you know her?”

I pulled my gaze away and said evenly, “I don’t know her.”
