Special Epilogue

When we walk into the club, it’s packed. The good news is I can already spot a couple of ridiculously hot guys as I scan the room. I’m sure they barely scratch the surface of my options tonight too.
The bad news is that it’s a zoo by the bar. I’m going to need to get aggressive.
“I’ll get us drinks,” I shout at Eden, who’s already bopping to the music.
“Kay, I’ll grab one of the high tops.”
“Divide and conquer. Love it.” Securing one of the tables will make the night last longer. Eclypse’s layout is such that you can dance your heart out in the center, and then recover as needed at a surrounding ring of high-tops…as long as you claim one before they’re all accounted for.
While she heads toward the dance area, I turn toward the bar. The floor is slick with something—probably beer—and I have to step carefully to make it without wiping out.
“That’s a lawsuit waiting to happen,” I say under my breath once I’m at the bar. Technically behind a sea of people at the bar. It’s going to take a second to find a place where I squeeze in and order. Likely many seconds.
Except, a path opens up as a guy in front of me turns around. He stands to his full height and glances down at me. Way down. He’s got to be a foot taller than me.
“You good?” he asks.
His voice is deep—what you’d expect from a man of his size—but I notice one other thing too, as the lights from the club flash. He’s a redhead.
I’ve never hooked up with a redhead before. And I do enjoy firsts.
“I will be, once I get drinks for me and my best friend.”
He grins. “What do you want?”
“Two Coronas with lime?”
“I got you.” He winks and turns around. It literally takes him ninety seconds to get me the beers.
Tall people privilege? Whatever, it’s working in my favor.
“What do I owe you?”
He smirks. “Nothing but your name.”
Slick. “I’m Bree.”
“Nice to meet you. You live around here?”
“Sort of. It’s a bit of a drive. I’m a senior at Tolliver.”
“Ah, cool.” He takes a sip of his own beer. “Technically, I’m still a senior too, I suppose. At Duke.”
Huh. In Orlando on a random September weekend? “What are you doing here?”
“My cousin, she had a game and…I came to watch it with a couple of friends.” He gestures behind him to two other guys along the bar. Also appearing to be a million feet tall.
He’s a prime candidate for some simple fun tonight, then. It would be a one-and-done situation, since he’s an out-of-towner.
I look for Eden, and she’s at a table playing on her phone. I can take another minute here.
“Well, thanks for the drinks.”
“Can we keep you two company tonight?”
I cock my head and throw a flirty air into my voice. “Maybe? Do you dance?”
He leans down and whispers, “For you, I will.”
Oh frick. The confidence is hot. Okay, it’s on.
But first…“What’s your name?”
He puts out his hand.
“It’s Wells. Wells Parker-Holding.”
We’re not done in this world yet!
