Epilogue
From the MOMENT she drew her first screaming breath, she was aware of one thing; she was not alone. Of course, her mother was there, exhausted and panting, as were the doctor and the maids, and a panicked man who was likely her father.
But there was something else too.
A shadow.
Later, when she was alone in her crib, it came to her. It had glowing golden eyes and two tails and its body was the colour of midnight. It smiled.
“Told you I’d find you,” the darkness purred. “And when you’re grown, let’s find the boy and raise hell, shall we?”
