Chapter 9
CHAPTER NINE
JAMAL
While I’d hoped for a fight, looked forward to the barbarians putting those assholes who hurt me in their place, I hadn’t expected it to happen so quickly.
With two barbarians against six thugs, I thought there’d be more of a tussle.
But not only did Yngvar fight with them, which I hadn’t expected since he couldn’t see, but they also moved like they were one person.
For two barbarians who were constantly snarking at each other and willing to come to blows over a lover, they fought together really well.
Yngvar, the barbarian who always supplied me with the good alcohol, snorted when he heard my comment and straightened from his fighting stance. “Little troublemaker, what are you doing here? Didn’t the clan leader tell you to leave?”
I didn’t understand him at first, since he spoke neither my tongue nor the common tongue, but Torgrind translated for me, and I felt a smirk stretch my lips as I lifted my chin defiantly. “Yeah. He didn’t tell me not to come back though.”
Torgrind huffed a laugh as he translated, and when he heard my response, Yngvar threw his head back on a laugh.
He turned back toward the bar, tapping his hand on the surface and waiting for the barkeep to stand from where he’d crouched before.
Without a word between them, the barkeep handed over a small purse, and Yngvar nodded in thanks before leaving.
Confused, I looked at the other three, who all looked just as unsure about what had just happened. The big one who they’d asked to watch over me shook his head, his common tongue even worse than mine. “No ask questions. He will not say honest words.”
Brenek snorted, leaning over one of the bodies and pulling something from his belt.
When he brought my coin purse to me, a smile overtook my face.
I wasn’t tall enough to reach his lips without help, so I stood on my toes and kissed his jaw instead, leaning against my chest as I purred at him.
“However can I thank you?” in the common tongue since I knew he struggled with my language.
The heated expression he gave me said he was on board with my earlier plan. I was one step closer to my goal. If one barbarian cock was good, two had to be better, and I wouldn’t be satisfied until I had them both.
Torgrind urged us out of the tavern where we joined the others getting water. Neither of my barbarians made me carry any heavy pots back, which was nice, and when we rejoined the clan, and I noticed the clan leader eyeing us suspiciously, I flashed him a grin and winked at him.
His disgruntled expression made me snicker, and when he called out over the noise of the clan packing up their things, he didn’t scold like I thought he might. “Do I want to know?”
I opened my mouth to say yes, since that short battle had been sexy as hell, and I wanted to share it, but Torgrind had put his pot down and scooped me up instead, handing me off to Brenek like I was nothing but a toy for them to play with.
I couldn’t help my grin as Brenek tossed me onto his horse’s back and hopped up behind me with ease.
“What? Is it supposed to be a secret?” I asked innocently.
“If we want to avoid trench duty, yes,” Brenek murmured. “Be kind, varakai. I’d rather spend my nights with you.”
Well, I couldn’t argue that. Though them getting punished with trench duty was a little hilarious.
While we moved to join the rest of the clan, Torgrind spoke to the clan leader, I assumed keeping things vague enough to keep them out of trouble. When he came back, he hopped onto his horse and fell in step beside me and Brenek, winking at me when he noticed my attention on him.
“How long will it be this time?” I demanded. The more they flirted with me, the more I wanted this trip to be over so we could get to the fun part.
“Not long,” Brenek said. I twisted to look at him suspiciously but before I could demand more information since he’d said that last time, Torgrind distracted me.
“Tavi. Want to learn to ride?”
Spinning around, I eyed him eagerly. “Really?”
He nodded, tipping his head toward the mount without a rider next to him that I hadn’t noticed.
It was a lot bigger than a normal horse, not that I knew how to ride those by myself either.
It wasn’t something the son of a steward needed to know.
I’d gone on rides before with stable boys but always in front or behind them. Never on my own.
I wriggled in Brenek’s arms to get down, but he tightened his grip with a chuckle, smiling at me when I glared back at him.
“Just wait, varakai. We will put the mare between us so you can rest when you need to.”
Grumbling, I deigned to wait the few moments it took for Torgrind to move the mount between them. Then Brenek deposited me on the animal’s back and held me steady while I found my balance.
“Tighten your legs and hold her mane. You will slide off otherwise.”
“Slide off? How? She’s so big I could sleep on her without falling,” I replied while doing as he said. I understood better now why he insisted I be between them for rest. My legs would be sore quickly riding an animal this big.
By the time we settled near a small outpost for rest, my thighs were protesting, and I was no better at riding than when I started.
The mounts they used were too big for me.
I felt like a child astride it and could only rest riding with Torgrind or Brenek to support me and allow me to ride sideways if my legs began to cramp.
Still, it was fun to try, and one of the other barbarians mentioned getting smaller mounts for bondmates and guests since they ran into this problem often.
Maybe if they did that, I’d get to ride again.
I grimaced as Torgrind helped me down from his horse, rubbing my legs as the muscles protested.
Both of my barbarians noticed my discomfort, and I could just see them changing their minds, so I pointed a stern finger at them, glaring at them both to emphasize my point.
“I’m fine. I’m not interested in gentlemen. I thought you were barbarians.”
Torgrind raised an eyebrow, the stern expression making me a little breathless. “What exactly did you think we were, tavi?”
They both came closer, hands on my hips and cupping my face. I was surrounded by them, which was exactly what I wanted, and it made me a little breathless when I answered Torgrind’s question. “Wild… maybe a little rough…” I gasped as Brenek nipped lightly along my neck. “Demanding.”
“Do you want us to be demanding, varakai?” Brenek murmured. “We can do this for you.”
Goddess, I might melt if he kept talking that way.
“You are demanding yourself,” Torgrind pointed out, dipping his head to nip at my lower lip. “Will you listen and behave if we make demands of you?”
My stomach flipped, and I lifted onto my toes, chasing his lips and whimpering when he pulled out of range. “If… If you give me what I want, I will.”
That made them both grin. I felt it on the skin against my neck and saw the expression stretch over Torgrind’s face. It wasn’t a nice grin. It was wicked and full of lust and promise.
It was barbaric.
“Wait here, tavi. We will set up a tent for you. Then, we will give you what you want.”
I wanted to whine and complain about them moving away from me, but if I wanted privacy, I had to do as he asked.
The barbarians while traveling mostly slept on bed rolls amongst the stars.
Tents were only set up when they were settled somewhere, and since we were headed for the settlement, it would take an entire week to get there at the pace we were going.
I was not waiting that long to experience barbarian cock.
Impatiently, I watched as they pulled out a tent and set it up, inspiring a few others to do the same.
The one who had the wolf as a pet followed suit, as well as the one who’d acted as my guard during the confrontation that morning.
The clan leader shook his head like he was amused by the actions of his clan, but he didn’t make comments.
Good. If he did, I’d have something to say about it.
While the rest of the clan worked at digging the trench and building a fire, I noticed a few wandering over to the outpost soldiers, shaking their hands with friendly greetings.
I was pretty sure the king’s request for me to report back about the clans had only been an excuse to get me out of town and away from the scandal before things got worse, it wouldn’t hurt to make note of things.
That his soldiers were friendly with the barbarians and vice versa would be something the king would likely want to know.
“Ready, tavi?”
I shivered at the suggestive tone in Torgrind’s voice. He stood near the tent he and Brenek had set up together, a light already shining from inside. I felt my pulse quicken as I eagerly hurried to join him, taking his hand and pulling him along with me into the tent.
It was nothing fancy, they didn’t do a full set up when we were likely only here for a day or two.
Our bedrolls were laid out flush against each other, making one large bed.
A small table with a lamp was tucked into the corner, a familiar bottle of oil sitting next to it that made me grin.
They’d thought of everything, hadn’t they?
Brenek was already shirtless, and his boots were off as he lounged on the bedroll.
His face twitched when Torgrind came in with me, and I knew they were just a little uncomfortable with this.
Determined to distract them so I could keep them both with me, I flashed him a sultry grin, palming my erection through my trousers.
“You look good enough to eat.”
He grinned at me, beckoning me with a crook of his finger, but before I could step onto the bed with him, Torgrind caught my hips, pulling me against his chest and whispering against my ear.
“Without clothes, tavi. We want to worship you properly.”
Holy goddess… the man had a wicked mouth. I was almost worried I wouldn’t be able to handle them both. Zakai said their cocks were magic. Was it possible too much magic would render me stupid?
Pulling my tunic over my head, I tossed it aside with a grin. There were worse ways to go.
