21. Lex #2
“And if that’s you?” He stands on his tiptoes and leans against me.
“Then you get to keep me.”
“Good because I want you.” He jumps into my arms and pecks my lips. “Let’s get ready for bed.”
“You only want to go to bed so you can nurse,” I tease.
“No, I’m tired.” He fake yawns and runs his hand up my chest. “And thirsty.”
“Alright, sneaky boy.”
“Are you going to introduce him to the men today?” Mal asks, and I nod. It’s time. Rory’s been here for a few days, and I know the men have noticed him. “Good. I’ll stay for support.”
“Support?”
“In case we have any homophobic assholes.”
I guess I hadn’t thought of that. It’s not something that I’ve ever addressed before. “Do we?”
Mal shrugs. “None of them are openly gay.”
“Liv’s gay.”
“Yeah, but that’s lesbians. It’s a totally different thing,” Tag says when he comes into my office with Rory on his heels.
I pull my boy into my arms and kiss the top of his head.
“Hi, Daddy.”
“Hey, rabbit. I missed you.”
“I missed you too.”
“Did you get everything you needed?” Tag took Rory home to get some of his things and check on his fairy garden. I’ve already got the grounds crew preparing an area so we can move the garden here when he’s ready.
“Yep. Tag is strong, so I used him like a pack mule,” Rory teases.
Tag gasps. “I’m hurt! I thought we were friends and you liked having me around.”
“I have no choice if you’re around or not,” Rory answers, and Tag laughs.
“You’re not wrong there.”
“But seriously, you are my friend, and I need more of those.”
Part of me wants to kill Tag cause Rory said he needs another man. I’m the only man he needs.
“I don’t have many friends either,” Tag says seriously, and you can see the sadness in his eyes for just a moment.
“We can be friends, and you can be my bodyguard because you make me feel safe.”
Rory steps out of my arms and gives Tag a tentative hug. I know it’s a big deal for Rory to initiate contact, so I let him have this one.
“I’m glad I make you feel safe, but you should stop hugging me before boss man gets jealous and kills me.” Tag’s teasing side is back, and he takes a few steps toward the door.
Rory looks back at me, and whatever look he sees on my face has him coming back to me and petting my chest reassuringly. “Don’t worry, Daddy. You’re the only man for me, and I feel safest with you.”
“What about Brendan?” Petty to ask that of him, I know, but I want to be the most important person to him.
“I feel safer with you cause I know you can beat up the bad guys and save me.”
“Always, rabbit.” He rises up on his tiptoes to give me a kiss, and I pull him tight to me. My tongue enters his mouth, and he tastes so sweet.
His submission is beautiful. He just lets me take what I want from him, and then he’s climbing into my arms so he can wrap his legs around my waist. “Thank you, Daddy.”
“Yeah, thanks for the show, Daddy.” Tag leers at us, and I flip him off before kissing Rory deeply.
“Come on, you sick fuck,” Mal says, and I assume he pulls Tag to the door.
“But, but!” Tag whines dramatically.
“And you better come quick. Your meeting’s in twenty,” Mal adds and shuts the door with a chuckle.
I’ve noticed the men looking toward Rory who’s reading in a plush chair off to the side of the office. Finally, I just give in and introduce him. I was going to wait until the end of our meeting, but it seems like these nosy fucks can’t wait.
“Everyone, that’s Rory. You might have seen him around. He’s very important to me, and I expect you to protect him with your lives.”
“Who is he?” Bellen asks.
“None of your goddamn business.”
“But if we need to protect him with our lives, I’d like to know who he is,” Bellen gripes.
I grab him by the throat and throw him onto the conference table before getting right into his face and hissing, “I said none of your fucking business.”
He flails in my hold, trying to grab my hand from his neck.
He’ll never be able to dislodge me, so I hold him down as a reminder to my men how strong I am.
“Anyone else have any questions?” They all shake their heads and stay silent.
“Good. Now if one more of our warehouses gets fucked, I’m going to lose my shit.
So get out there and protect what’s ours. Everyone clear?”
A chorus of “Yes, boss” rings around the room.
“Good. Dismissed.” The men file out of my office, but Eric stays behind to help Bellen up.
“Sorry, boss,” he apologizes for his friend who’s still gasping for breath. “You know Bell is nosy.” Eric chuckles and pats Bellen’s back.
“Sorry, boss,” Bellen croaks. “I didn’t mean anything by it.”
I nod and wave them out of the room.
Maybe I should have told them I was dating Rory, but I don’t share things like that with them. These are my top men. I trust them, but that doesn’t mean we’re close.
“Is your meeting done, Daddy?” Rory’s sweet voice pulls me out of my thoughts.
“Yes, baby.” I open my arms, and he steps into them willingly.
“They are kinda scary.”
“I’m sorry. Next time, you can wait in the other room.”
“No, I want to be by you.”
I pull him into my lap, and he buries his face in my neck. “You’re always welcome at my side.”
