Chapter Three
Larissa sat out in the church garden listening to the late springtime birdsong.
She had been invited to a small party at the Hell’s Bastards MC clubhouse, but this time she had turned it down, because she wanted to be alone.
Her father was finishing up his sermon. She had listened to some of it, then stepped into the garden to listen to nature.
Andrew had finally listened to her and taken the hint that she didn’t want anything to do with him.
The flowers had stopped, along with the candy.
He hadn’t extended to jewelry which she appreciated.
She didn’t like to send gifts back, as she felt it was rude.
The flowers she had distributed amongst the graves that barely had any visitors.
“Well, hello there.”
She turned to see Dean Moseley approaching.
“Good morning, Dean.”
“I didn’t expect to see you here,” he said, stepping into the graveyard. “Is this seat taken?”
“No, of course not. Go ahead.” She offered him a smile. “Where’s Winnie?”
“She’s inside. Preparing for the children’s school.”
After her father’s main sermon, he taught Sunday school.
She had attended when she was little. It was a lot of fun.
She adored that her father allowed everyone to make their own choices.
If they wanted to continue coming to church, it was up to them.
He only spoke from the heart. He was a good man, had been an amazing father, and even a great mother.
“How are you feeling?” Larissa asked.
“Grateful. Right now, so freaking grateful. Sorry.”
“There is no reason to be sorry. It is good news, and you should be celebrating.” She reached out and put a hand on his knee. “It is something to celebrate.” She pulled back and listened to the birds.
“You know, you’re a good woman, Larissa,” he said.
“Thank you.” She always struggled with compliments. Recently she didn’t feel like a good woman. The way she felt toward Andrew was not good. There were a lot of things that had changed. “Winnie’s a good kid.”
“Larissa, I thought I might find you here,” Raven said.
She glanced over to see her friend stepping into the main church grounds. She was wearing a dress, which was rare, and she even spotted Raven’s husband, Carlos, as he remained outside the gate.
“Raven, this is Dean. Dean, this is Raven.”
“Nice to meet you,” Raven said.
Dean and Raven shook hands.
“I better head back inside.”
Larissa frowned as she got the sense Dean wanted to say something to her. Before she could ask, the other man was already on his way back into the church.
“You’re on your own again?” Raven asked.
“Just listening to the birds and nature. You know how it goes.”
“I do, but I’m curious how you’re doing?” the other woman asked.
“I’m fine.”
“Fine? Do you want to talk about it?”
She looked toward Raven and the truth was, she didn’t want to talk about it.
Everyone expected her to be happy, to go back to the way she was, when life hadn’t thrown a few curveballs, like showing her men that ran away.
She wasn’t judging, but Andrew had looked at her, even as bullets rained down on them, and he had run.
George hadn’t. She refused to think of him as Big Dick.
Her day had started out like any other. She’d been happy but tired.
She loved her job at the bakery. It was a welcome relief to all the cleaning.
If she was honest, she had loved all the jobs she’d been given.
She was grateful to have any. But there was just something about being in Ava’s Bakery, following her recipes, and seeing them all come to fruition.
There was nothing better. She loved every second of it.
The only problem was, she knew she was different. Telling people she felt scared and at times angry, and she had so many emotions bubbling up inside, threatening to spill out. She didn’t want to yell at anyone. It was all inside and she could control it.
The pain of her mother walking away. Knowing she wasn’t a good enough daughter to even write to. There was no communication. Nothing.
“There’s nothing to talk about.”
“You know, there’s a small get-together at the clubhouse. Just a few friends. Even Hailey’s there.”
“She is?
“Yeah, you don’t have to be alone. Unless you really want to be?”
She would be alone all afternoon.
“Do you want to come?” Raven asked. “Carlos and I are headed there now.”
Larissa looked behind her toward Carlos. His attention was on his daughters. Did she want to be alone? The truth was, no, she didn’t. She spent a lot of time alone, trapped in her own thoughts, and she didn’t want to do that anymore.
“I’d like to come with you,” she said.
Larissa pulled out her cell phone and sent her dad a quick text, letting him know she was with Raven. Her father adored the other woman.
Then, she found herself in the back of Carlos’s car, between two car seats.
Raven had the cutest little twins. They were so adorable, and for the whole journey, she was distracted by their cuteness.
They had the tiniest of toes and the smallest fingers.
They were just a big ball of cuteness she couldn’t stop loving.
When they arrived at the clubhouse, she climbed out of the car. Raven grabbed one daughter, and Carlos grabbed the other.
It looked like the barbecue had been fired up.
Smokey was outside, with a newborn strapped to his body, and Ava was at one of the benches.
“Larissa,” Smokey said, pulling her into a one-armed hug. “I’m glad you could make it. Burgers and chicken will be ready soon. Don’t worry, Abriana hasn’t touched anything.”
She couldn’t help but smile. “I’m sorry I didn’t bring anything.”
“Don’t you worry about a thing. There are drinks, hard or soft. You take your pick. You need anything, you ask.”
She waved to Ava and walked to her friend and boss, giving her a hug.
“You look great,” Ava said.
Larissa glanced down at the summer dress she had opted to wear. This was like a milkmaid’s dress that was white, with blue flowers all over it. There was a small tie at the front that helped to shape around the bust. It was modest and cute.
“Thank you. You look stunning.”
Ava was in a pair of jeans, a crop top, with Smokey’s jacket over her arms. Most of the women wore their men’s jackets in some form or another.
“Go get yourself a drink,” Ava said.
She let out a smile, gave the other woman another hug, and headed inside toward the kitchen. That was where she saw Harlow and Hailey.
“You made it,” Harlow said, rushing toward her.
“Raven caught me alone,” she said.
Hailey laughed. “The same happened with me. She told me not everyone should be alone, and guess what, I’m not.” Hailey kept looking across the room, and Larissa glanced in that same direction, only to find the doorway empty.
She knew exactly what the other woman was doing, checking to see if Kinky was close. It had surprised her to hear that Hailey had opted to come to the clubhouse. She wondered if Kinky would keep his distance.
She hugged the two women, and then grabbed a soda for herself, and for the next couple of hours, Larisssa felt like her old self. It was strange.
She could laugh at the jokes, and she danced with Harlow. Even had Hunter dance with the two of them. Then of course, Smokey was there, and the truth was, he, at times, was like a second father to her. He’d been so kind when he didn’t have to be.
Hanging out with the women was a lot of fun.
After a short time, she headed inside to go to the bathroom.
The main clubhouse was quiet. She wasn’t used to being in any part of the clubhouse that was quiet.
It was then she heard the soft moan. Every fiber of her being told her to leave, to just turn around and go back outside.
Larissa didn’t know what was wrong with her. She had never been a snoop. She had never been curious about random noises. Maybe it was the few horror movies she had seen, which had taught her that going toward noise was dangerous.
Go and look, you know you want to.
Even as she fought with herself, her curiosity won. She stepped toward the noise, and that meant going toward the back room, which she did, slipping inside, and immediately wished she hadn’t.
She saw Brick, one of the members, and there was a woman, completely naked, on a pool table.
This was not a place for her to be. The lights seemed to have been placed in all the right spots to make the glow on the couple show every detail.
Like the woman skipping down from the table and sinking to her knees.
Larissa told herself she should run away right now. This was not for her to see. But she couldn’t look away. This was like a nightmare to her. What the hell was she doing?
Brick’s moan filled the air as the woman took his cock into her mouth.
“That’s right, baby, fill that mouth, let it hit the back of your throat.”
She had never seen anything quite so primal.
Larissa took a step back, then another, and she felt a hand go around her mouth. She struggled, only to recognize the ink decorating the man’s arms.
“Shh, you don’t want to disturb them, do you?” he asked, whispering so only she heard.
She was now in Big Dick’s arms, no, George’s arms. The memory of him telling her why he was named that, filled her senses. She swallowed past the lump in her throat, and he’d not removed her hand.
Larissa didn’t like how good it felt to be in his arms. This was insane, fucking crazy, and now she was even thinking cuss words. This was not good.
Brick let out a growl, and Larissa thought they had been caught, but he’d pulled himself out of the woman’s mouth, lifted her up onto her feet, then bent her over the pool table.
From this angle, she was able to see as he kicked her feet open, stretching her out, then reached between her thighs and started to feed his cock straight into her.
The other woman let out a moan. She whimpered with every inch that sunk inside her.
