Chapter Twenty-Two #2
So far, the town had been able to stop all attempts at ruining their lives, but it would seem Wilcox had got into some bad company.
Brick called it in, and he started heading toward the site.
He should have known Andrew was a bad seed. First, he started trying to hang out with Harlow, getting on her good side. Next, he turned his attention to Larissa. He didn’t know what the man’s game plan was, or even why, all he knew was he had to go and get his brother.
On the road, he knew Brick joined him, and it wouldn’t be long before more of the Hell’s Bastards MC was with them.
He couldn’t stop thinking about his brother. Shit with Erick had always been difficult, but the little bastard was still his brother, and he didn’t want anything bad to happen to him. The very thought of anything happening to his brother pissed him off.
The ride was long, and where he usually loved the open road, and the freedom, today it was anything but.
There was no freedom. No sense of peace.
Just anger. A rage he had felt brewing when it came to the Twisted Bastards MC.
It was time to end this, and as they came to the building site, he saw there was a glow from one of the lights coming from the back.
He and Brick turned off their ignition, and he looked out across the grounds. He spotted at least ten men.
“Shit,” Brick said.
All of them had guns.
“I don’t see Wilcox,” Brick said.
“Or Andrew,” Big Dick said.
He looked out across the crowd, and he didn’t like what he saw. The odds were not in their favor. The chances of there being more men were high.
“How long are they out?”
“About ten minutes, depending on how long it takes them to get out of the clubhouse, but you know it’s not going to be all the guys,” he said. “Some of them need to stay at the clubhouse.”
“Shit! Fuck!” This was not what he wanted to hear. He had to get to his brother.
Staring at the building site, he couldn’t believe he hadn’t seen this before, or even figured it out. Wilcox had always been a slippery weasel, and when he saw him that one time, he never fucking suspected he was working for the fucking enemy. It pissed him off. He should have known.
He didn’t know how the Twisted Bastards MC ended up with Wilcox, nor did he know how they got their claws into Andrew. What he did know was that one or both of them had come after his family, and that was a sure sign to get them fucked.
“I’m seeing that scary-as-fuck look on your face,” Brick said.
“I’ve got to get to my brother,” Big Dick said. “I don’t even know if he is still alive.”
“He is. Smokey said he is randomly talking but...” Brick didn’t finish.
“But what?”
“It’s not sounding good,” Brick said.
Time was running out, and he didn’t want to waste a moment when he could get Erick out now.
There are so many different exits and entrances on a building site. He knew going in the front would be a guaranteed death wish. He did not want to die. He had to get back to Larissa, his wife, the fucking love of his life.
How had it gotten so fucked, so fucking quickly?
Anger rushed through him.
“I’m going to go around the back,” Big Dick said.
“Damn it, you know Smokey will be pissed.”
“Do you think they’ve not got him covered? The moment they turn up, the first thing they are going to do is shoot my brother. The kid may be a fucking prick, but he is still my brother. If I can get him out, then it will be all right,” he said.
Brick gritted his teeth and growled.
“This is not a good idea, but I will fucking cover you. Fuck!”
None of this was good. Big Dick knew that, but he nodded at Brick, and then made his way around the building site, staying as low down as he could, finding a weakness within the fence that meant he could slide right through.
He made sure to keep low, and to keep a lookout.
The Twisted Bastards MC clearly thought their cover was kept, and in a way, it had been.
The best way to walk around in plain sight was find a fucking local that could afford to keep you hidden. It was the one option he hadn’t considered. He wasn’t even tempted to go looking. He should have known better.
His brother was now paying the price, and he was going to make sure the Twisted Bastards MC got what was coming to them. He got inside the building undetected, which was a fucking miracle.
The Twisted Bastards MC were sloppy. He didn’t know how they had been able to survive this fucking long. Cadeon was the reason, he knew that, and he hated the bastard for it.
He didn’t take the elevator, but instead the stairs, and he didn’t dawdle.
When the shooting started, he had a feeling Erick would be on borrowed time.
If he started to shoot, there was a chance it could get his brother killed.
Making his way toward the top floor, he stopped as he looked around the corner, and there, on the floor, was his brother.
He also noticed one guy, someone he didn’t recognize, staring down at his cell phone.
If he shot now, and the club wasn’t here in time, he would have a lot of Twisted Bastards MC. If he waited, and the shooting started, then his brother was dead. He was damned if he did, and damned if he didn’t.
Big Dick didn’t make these fucking decisions.
If it was Larissa, you’d shoot.
If it was Smokey, you’d shoot.
Erick is no different, fucking shoot.
He took aim and fired, and he heard the chaos that ensued the moment he took those first shots. He was on borrowed time now, he rushed to Erick, who had flinched and was shaking.
“It’s me, Erick, it’s me.”
“George?”
He turned his brother over and winced as he caught sight of his brother’s face. One of his eyes was swollen shut.
“You came?” Erick asked.
“Of course I fucking came. You’re my asshole brother. Of course I’m going to come.”
“You ... killed that guy.”
“You didn’t see that,” he said.
Erick snorted. “Good.”
Big Dick smirked. There would have been a time he would threaten to go and tell Mom. For now, he imagined he was off the hook for anything he did.
He got the cuffs off his brother, as they had him chained to a fucking hook in the floor. He didn’t know what kind of shit was going down at this building site, but they were not going to kill his brother.
In the distance, he heard the sounds of guns going off, and just as he got his brother to his feet, someone tackled Big Dick to the ground. He fell with a grunt, and he heard his brother cry out.
Big Dick didn’t have time to block the blow to the face, and for a few seconds, he couldn’t quite get his bearings.
When the next blow came, he blocked it and used his strength to shove his attacker off him, at which point he kicked out, landing a kick to his midsection as he got to his feet.
It was then he was able to see that he was looking into the face of Cadeon, the enemy.
He thought he had felt rage before, but nothing compared to how it swept over him at the sight of this little fucker.
It was an anger unlike anything he had ever felt before.
This man had caused the club a lot of pain.
Because of him, Larissa had nearly been killed, as had his sister and Hailey.
His own family had been at risk, and in all the years he’d been a member of the Hell’s Bastards MC, not once had his family come into the firing line.
“So, we meet again,” Cadeon said.
“You made a big mistake coming after my family,” he said.
Cadeon laughed. “You just made it too easy for me, George.” He started to laugh.
“I guess you could thank your sister for me. I mean, she just had to keep Andrew at arm’s length.
Sure, he was more than happy to play the nice boy.
But to then lose Larissa as well.” He let out a whistle.
“It was just too easy. I told the men to let him run away when we all started shooting. I had to wonder if you would doubt him.”
“That’s how you got the keys from him,” Big Dick said.
“He was more than happy to help out a fellow friend who had been shit on by the Ericksons. Not to mention, he had caught the way you looked at his girl, and as for Larissa, she wasn’t too happy with him running away.
It was all too easy, and you didn’t suspect a thing.
You thought Andrew was innocent, but he was more than happy to give me those keys.
Afterward, he was more than happy to tell me about your little family and where they live.
It also helped that you pissed off Wilcox, and it was like taking candy from a baby. ”
Big Dick charged forward, and Cadeon hadn’t been expecting it.
He was a fighter. He had grown up fighting, not just his brothers, but anyone that got in his way, and he put all of that into the battle with Cadeon right fucking now.
He fought harder, landing blow after blow.
Even as Cadeon tried to hit back, he was no match for him, and he didn’t let up. Not once.
The moment he got him to the floor, he punched Cadeon, and all he saw was Larissa on the ground, shot. His sister hooked up to machines. All of the problems that were caused by this one man, and he could just kill him now.
“Go ahead, kill me,” Cadeon said, and laughed.
Big Dick brought his fist back, ready to take that final blow. He would happily kill this fucker.
“She’ll be dead if you do.”
Those words made Big Dick hesitate.
“You don’t think I didn’t know you’d work it out?
” Cadeon laughed. “I always make sure I have a Plan B, and your girl is going to see her father, but it is not her father she is going to find. It’s one of my men, and he’s been told he can do whatever he wants to her, and he has a penchant for . .. pregnant women.”
Big Dick hated this fucker.
“What’s it going to be, my death and Larissa’s, or are you going to save her?” Cadeon asked.
“George,” Erick said. “You’ve got to get to her.”
