Chapter 29

Chapter Twenty-Nine

BIG RED

“ D o you have to go?” Alice looks up at me with a slight pout. Wrapping my arms around her, I bring my lips down on hers.

“I’ll be right back, kitten. I don’t want to leave, but I have to go.”

Alice swallows and nods her head. She knows what I am getting ready to do. I don’t have to say it. It’s obvious. Jeffery, Chloe, and the Langley brothers have to go.

For the past few days, Alice and I have been locked in the house with the kids. I needed to pour love and attention into Cindy and Colt. After what Chloe put them through, they had been traumatized. Colt couldn’t even sleep through the night without a nightmare the first few days.

Cindy has been clinging to me and Alice as if she would blink and we would disappear. She told me a little about what went down when Chloe took them. I have never been prouder that my baby knew how to defend herself. But she shouldn’t have needed to, especially against her own damn mother.

After learning that Chloe tried taking Colt out of the room to leave Cindy alone with Jeffery, I knew Cara had been right with her assumptions. Every time my mind even drifts to what could have happened to Cindy, I can barely control my emotions.

Knowing that Chloe came here with the intention of letting Jeffery have Cindy makes me sick to my stomach. She will die tonight. That’s the only way I'll be able to rest easy from here on out.

She’s a threat to my kids, and I plan to eliminate it.

“I know. I’m just going to miss you.” I chuckle while rubbing her belly. Spending the past few days in the house together has made both of us clingy.

Alice sighs and snuggles into my side, relaxing as I continue to rub her. We went to the clubhouse the next morning after the kidnapping to have Doc check her over. I tried to get Alice to go as soon as we got back, but she wouldn’t hear it. She wanted to check on the kids and nobody could tell her anything different.

Doc did an ultrasound and allowed us to hear the baby’s heartbeat. Doc assured us everything seemed fine, and we had nothing to worry about. He also let us know that Alice was approaching eleven weeks. From his calculations, it seems I got Alice pregnant the first night.

When we left, I felt like for the first time in my life, I was completely happy. I just had to get rid of a few people, and everything would be perfect. I plan on doing that tonight.

Rising out of the bed, I grab my cut and put it on. “I’ll be back. I love you.” I walk back over to the bed, lean down, and peck her lips a few times.

“I love you, too. Make sure it hurts for Declan.”

She lies back down and focuses her attention on the television. I chortle as I walk out of the room. I swear those pregnancy hormones have turned my woman into a little rebel.

I lock up the house, mount my bike, and ride to the front of the clubhouse. Viper sent everyone a text and told us to meet here instead of the basement. When I pull up in front of the clubhouse, everyone is already waiting. I park my bike and head over to the group.

“How’re the kids?” Viper asks me.

“They’re struggling here and there. All we can do is take it one day at a time.”

“I agree. Just let us know if you need anything, brother.” I nod my head and thank him. Viper then turns his attention to the rest of the brothers. “About a few months ago, I told Cara and Sara to look into a few properties. This place is becoming a home to the children here. The last thing I want to do is continue to handle club business where they lay their heads.”

I understand completely where he’s coming from. Even though the kids don’t live in the clubhouse, they often spend time there. We aren’t a bunch of single bikers anymore, so it only makes sense that Viper wants to change how we do things.

“So, with that being said, let's ride.”

We all get back on our bikes and follow Viper for about thirty minutes until we pull up to a warehouse. It’s the only building in the area for miles and miles. You would have to be lost to stumble upon this warehouse because there is no other reason to be out here.

We follow Viper inside, and a grin makes its way across my face. Chloe, Declan, and Vincent are hanging from the ceiling by their wrists. But Jefferey is strapped down to a metal table.

There are several drains throughout this room. I also notice the cabinets lining the walls. I can only imagine what is in them. A cell has been built in the corner of the room as well.

Cara makes herself right at home as she makes a beeline for the cabinets and begins pulling out all kinds of knives and tools. I look around and notice that Sara and Bear are missing.

“Where’s the rest of your crew, Cara?” I ask, referring to Bear and Sara.

“Oh, they’re on the way. They had to pick up my special gift for Jeffery.”

Some of the guys groan. Not knowing what Cara has up her sleeves is never good. I don’t know what she has planned, but I’ll make sure to keep my distance. The last time I stood too close, I ended up being covered in someone's intestines.

“Red, the floor is yours, brother.” Viper slaps me on the shoulder and sits on top of one of the tables.

The brothers spread out, leaning against the walls. As I approach Chloe, I notice how black and purple her nose is. Turning to Cara and then Viper, I ask, “Baby girl did that?”

Viper snickers, nodding his head. “Yup. Doc had to pop it back in place so it would stop bleeding.”

Turning back to Chloe, I look at her, eyes full of disgust. “I have a few questions. If I don’t like your answers, I’m going to make sure your death is long and painful.”

Chloe's eyes widen two sizes as Cara walks up beside me, sharpening a long hunting knife. Cara never takes her eyes off Chloe as she smiles devilishly at her.

“Y-you’re going to kill me now, Red? I know I shouldn’t have taken the kids, but I’m still their moth?—”

“Cut the shit, Chloe! The jig is up. You aren’t their mother. You’re just the woman that birthed them. Now, the first thing I want to know is how you went from having a boyfriend of eight years to being married in a matter of months to someone else? Don’t even think about lying.”

Chloe's mouth opens and closes, but no words come out. She looks from me to Jeffery, who’s strapped to the table, silently crying. Growing frustrated with her silence, I look down at Cara.

“I think she needs a little help loosening her lips.”

Cara nods with a smile. When she takes two steps toward Chloe, she shrieks.

“Okay! I’ll talk. Blaine and I got mixed up with some loan sharks. We were trying to get their money back but ran out of time.” A tear slides down her cheek, and I roll my eyes.

Surely, she doesn’t think anyone here is going to have sympathy for her.

“The night they killed Blaine, they gave me two weeks to get their money, or I was next. Jeffery was the only person I knew who had that kind of money to help me. He said if I married him, he would pay them off.”

I grew impatient when she didn’t say anything else, as if that was the whole story.

“Cara, help her get her story together.”

“No problem.”

Chloe shrieks as Cara walks over to her, ignoring her pleas. Grabbing Chloe's hand, Cara swiftly cuts her finger off. Chloe screams at the top of her lungs. Cara grabs Chloe's jaw in her hand.

“Are you ready to be honest, or do you want more?”

Chloe sobs while shaking her head feverishly. After taking a moment to calm herself, she clears her throat before speaking again. “I knew Jeffery through Blaine. They’re stepbrothers. Blaine told me about Jeffery’s… desires a while ago. When I asked him to help, he said he would pay the fifty thousand dollars I owed if I gave him Cindy.”

“So instead of accepting responsibility for your own fuckups, you sold my daughter for fifty fuckin’ thousand dollars!” I bellow.

Chloe opens her mouth, but I cut her off. I’ve heard enough. “Gag her, Cara.”

She does as I say, and I move over to Declan and Vincent, who don’t seem as fearful as Chloe and Jeffery. Looking at Declan, I smirk as his skin is now covered in blisters. My woman really did a number on him. Snatching the gags out of their mouths, I stand in front of them, grinning.

“Got something to say?”

Vincent puffs his chest out, looking me up and down with hate. “You’re all stupid. You know if you kill us, my father won't rest until he finds our murderers. You know he’s a well-respected judge with friends in high places. You think he doesn’t know about my problems with your little club. You all will be his first suspects.”

His smile is smug, and so is Declan’s. Cara snorts beside me before walking over to her briefcase and retrieving a file. “Your father will have a warrant for his arrest by morning.”

Declan and Vincent's smiles turn into frowns. All the guys stand to attention at her revelation. She can find anyone’s skeleton. I don’t care how well you think you covered your tracks. She will find it.

“I have concrete proof of you three committing everything from falsifying documents, padding charges, and tampering with evidence. The list goes on and on. You three had the perfect setup. Declan was the officer making the bogus arrests. Vincent, you’re the dirty-ass DA tampering with the evidence and the charges. Then your father, the judge, was issuing the maximum sentence to every one of those men you all framed.”

Declan and Vincent's mouths open in shock. Cara winks before bursting into giggles. “So, you see, tomorrow, this evidence is going to be leaked. Once the FBI has their hands on it, warrants will be issued. When you two disappear, it will look like you two took off and left Daddy to deal with the fallout.”

I swear I fear no one, but I never want to be on the bad side of this woman. Once you’re her enemy, she stops at nothing to take you down. And it’s never rushed. She sits back, plots, and plans her execution to perfection.

“Fuck you!” Declan sneers. He starts shaking his chains, desperately trying to get loose. Vincent, on the other hand, is finally letting his fear show. He knows he isn’t making it out of here alive.

Seems he thought the threat of his father would save the day.

Viper hops down off the table and stalks toward Declan. His fist flies into his face over and over. Vincent has to look away as Viper unloads on his brother. Once Declan's eye swells shut, Viper backs away.

“Feel better?” I ask him.

“A little.” He shrugs. “I still owed his ass for raising his hand to my woman.”

He drops a kiss on Cara's lips before taking his seat on the table. Cara places the file on the counter before looking at Vincent with amusement.

“I know this has gotta suck. You waged a war on the club, thinking your wife was having some love affair with my man, only to find out that she was practically auditioning to be a club bunny. But don’t worry, we’ll make sure your headstone reads here lies a man who lost his life for some loose booty. ”

The brothers explode in laughter as the warehouse’s door opens. Bear and Sara walk in, but they’re not alone. There’s a woman with them. She’s filthy. I can smell her from where I’m standing. From the looks of her, it isn’t hard to figure out she’s a drug addict. She’s wearing a blindfold, and Sara holds her elbow, leading her into the room.

“What the hell is going on?” Thor asks as he covers his nose with the back of his hand.

“Your bestie went all out for this one.” Viper shakes his head, pulling his shirt over his nose.

I mean, the stench this woman is giving off makes my stomach churn.

Cara steps forward with a wide smile. “Everyone, meet Irene. She has been blindfolded, and her ears are plugged to protect our identities. She’s my special gift to Jeffery.”

“Special gift?” Blade sputters.

“Yup. And don’t start asking me questions. You’re about to see exactly what I have planned.”

She leads Irene over to the table Jeffery is strapped to.

“Do you like your gift, Jeffery?” Cara asks as she removes his gag. His nose crinkles up. He looks like he’s about to vomit.

“You see, one day, I was leaving a gas station and overheard Irene telling her friend how none of her partners had managed to make her come in some time. I instantly knew you were the man for the job. Seeing as you have a thing for helping drug-addicted prostitutes. So, since you’re tied to the table, you will have to use your mouth to make it happen. For every minute that goes by and Irene hasn’t come, I’m going to start cutting off limbs.”

See what I mean about not wanting to be an enemy of this woman?

Who the hell thinks of this kind of stuff?

Jeffery begins to shake his head rapidly. “P-pl-please don’t do this.”

“Now, Jeffery, I’m pretty sure that’s what all those little girls said. Just like you ignored their pleas, I’ll be doing the same.”

Cara taps Irene’s shoulder, and she begins wiggling out of her bottoms. Any brother within six feet of her backs away quickly. When her underwear hits the floor, Thor gags.

“What the hell is that in her underwear?” he asks in horror.

Looking down, I see some kind of white discharge and cringe. Cara stares down at the underwear, grimaces, and turns to Doc. “Well?”

He stares at her blankly and shakes his head. “I would say that’s a yeast infection.”

“Look at that, Jeffery. Irene added a little flavor for you.”

“Cara, I swear we’re getting your ass checked out first thing Monday morning.” Thor looks at his best bud in bewilderment.

Cara doesn’t pay him any mind. Instead, she helps Irene onto the table. As soon as she’s straddling Jeffery's shoulders, she grabs his head, guiding it to her center.

This shit is like something out of a horror movie. I should turn away, but I think I’m too shocked to move like the rest of the guys.

Jeffery tries resisting, but Cara quickly cuts one of his toes off. The sudden action causes him to lose the fight against Irene as she successfully crushes his lips to her core.

Jeffery turns his head to the side and throws up. His mouth is covered with that same white discharge that is in Irene's panties. Cara shows no mercy to him getting sick and cuts off another toe.

“Please,” he begs while sobbing.

“Did you stop when those little girls begged you to?! Huh? Did you?!” she shouted and removed another toe.

“N-no, b-bu-but?—”

“There is no but. Men like you make me sick. Torturing and killing you is too good of a treatment if you ask me. I think showing you what it feels like to be violated is the best karma. Now, make Irene come before I throw on some gloves. Believe me when I tell you, you don’t want to know what happens once I do.”

Jeffery blubbers out a cry but allows Irene to guide his face back between her legs. I hear a few brothers cough, groan, and gag as we watch Irene hump his face mercilessly until she comes. Jeffery's body shakes the entire time, but he doesn’t stop until Irene gets hers. I guess he’s too afraid to see what would happen once Cara put gloves on, and honestly, so am I.

This has to be the most savage and diabolical thing she has ever come up with. But I know, for a fact, what she did was far worse than anything any of us would have thought of. For that, a smile stretches across my face. I want him to suffer for what he planned for Cindy, and he has.

But I still needed to get revenge of my own.

Cara helps Irene down from the table. Pulling out a wad of cash, she places it in her hands. Irene smiles, showing off her rotten teeth. Cara leads her to the door, and Levi, the prospect, is there waiting for her.

Viper walks over to them. “Take her home. She knows not to remove her earplugs and blindfold until she is out of the vehicle.”

Levi nods and escorts Irene out of the warehouse.

When the door slams shut, Jeffery jumps. “Just kill me already.” He sounds distraught.

“The floor is yours, Red.” Cara walks away, leaving four pairs of eyes watching me with fear. After what they had just witnessed, I would be scared for what happens next too.

“Bear, why don’t you put Vincent out of his misery.”

Bear grins at me and cracks his knuckles. “With pleasure.”

He doesn’t use a weapon on Vincent. Bear beats him with his fists until he takes his last breath. Declan sheds tears, watching his brother be beaten to death.

“You’re all going to rot in hell for this!” he screams.

Scoffing, I shake my head and ask Cara to borrow her knife. She watches me with a frown before handing it over.

“Be careful with her. She’s my favorite.”

Giving a big belly laugh, I look down at her. “I’ll give her back in perfect condition,” I tell her crazy ass.

As I approach Declan, he tries to hold his head high. Not wanting to do any more talking with him, I jam the knife into his stomach. He screams out in pain, looking like he’s ready to pass out.

I remove the knife and plunge it in again. And again. And again. I don’t stop until his abdomen looks like it has been ripped to shreds.

With every stab I deliver, I think of the moments Alice had been scared, beaten, and alone. He took my beautiful woman through the wringer. I would have dragged this out a little longer if I wasn’t itching to get back home to my family.

Chloe is visibly shaking as I stand in front of her. “Red, please don’t do this. I know what I did was wrong, but I can change. I can get help. Just please don’t do this.”

“There is nothing you can say to save yourself, Chloe. You have no idea what it's like watching Colt be stuck in night terrors that you caused. He hasn’t been able to sleep alone because he’s scared you and this sick motherfucker is going to snatch him away. AGAIN! ” I roar, making her jump.

“You were going to hand Cindy over for fifty thousand dollars. Had she not known how to defend herself, that night could have gone a completely different way. I should have killed you for walking out on them, but I didn’t. The moment you came after my kids, you sealed your fate.”

I pull my gun out of my waistband, causing her to sob uncontrollably. Aiming the gun at her head, I pull the trigger. I feel nothing as I watch the life leave her eyes.

I’m not naturally coldhearted, but coming for Alice and my children was a quick way to get me there.

“Just do it,” Jeffery grumbles as I walk over to the table.

I would have punched him in the mouth for telling me to do a damn thing, but Irene’s juices and everything else are still lingering around his mouth.

“That’s not happening.” I go over to the cabinets and start randomly selecting things. I move back over to the table once I have my items. “We’re going to have a little fun tonight.”

I slap a piece of duct tape over his mouth, silencing him before he begins to beg. For the next hour, I remove his penis and testicles with a box cutter. I cut his ears, eyelids, and lips off with a scalpel. And right as he is getting ready to die from the blood loss, I remove his heart.

I’m covered in blood by the time I turn back to the brothers. All I see is approval.

“There’s a shower through that door with changes of clothes so you don’t have to ride back covered in blood.” Cara points to a door on the other side of the room.

As soon as I'm in the room, I rip the bloody clothes away. I spot a case of black trash bags and place the clothes inside. I watch all the blood rinse from my body, feeling like I can finally breathe.

There are no more lingering threats hanging over me and my family. I can finally live knowing no one is going to try to snatch them from me. The kids have a long road to recovery, but with me and Alice by their sides they’ll get there.

I have another baby on the way, which I never thought would happen, but I couldn’t be more ready.

The only thing left to do was make Alice my wife.
