Chapter Seven
Lily
? “Awkard” – SZA ?
My heart stops when he confirms he won’t be careful with me. I want that. I am tired of being handled with care and being treated like I may break into a million pieces. I need someone to find what makes my body tick, what makes me shatter like glass. I want to feel like an atomic bomb.
I shove his dick back in my mouth and use my tongue to glide along his piercings.
His hands grip my hair, pulling straight from the scalp.
The pain sends shards through my body, straight to my center.
I open my throat, breathing though my nose like he told me to as I take him all the way to the hilt.
He fills my mouth and his piercings graze along my tongue as he starts pumping.
That one hum he releases from his chest vibrates his whole body. My grip tightens on his thighs, and I pull back to twirl my tongue along the space between his shaft and head and take him back down my throat. I close my eyes and take all the pressure from him being so deep.
I want him inside me. I want to feel those piercings ripple inside me. The thought of it makes me clench my thighs together. I’m still naked from the waist down, and I can feel my juices leaking on the inside of my thighs.
His mouth opens as he pulls his dick from my mouth, stroking himself. He is about to come and I am not about to miss this. I grab his hips, pushing him back toward me, opening my mouth and closing it just at the tip, and swirl my tongue around his head. I want to taste and savor every bit of him.
“Fuck, álainn,” he growls.
I can feel his release pile into my mouth as he puts his hands back onto the kitchen counter to catch himself. I replace his hands with mine, stroking every last drop into my mouth, swallowing everything while keeping eye contact, licking my lips.
He grabs me off the floor and I wrap my legs around him as he starts walking to the bedroom. His jeans are barely on, forcing him to wobble all the way there.
I turn to my clock to see it’s 7 a.m. I’m still trying to gather myself after Jace sucked, licked, and finger-fucked me until I was coming back to back.
I turn toward him to see one hand under his head, lying calm and collected, staring at the ceiling.
His boxers are on, and I can still see the outline of his hard dick.
We didn’t have sex, but I can’t complain.
I may have told him this was going to be the only time, but I want to go again.
I want to have actual sex with him. He was the first man to ever give me an orgasm not once, not twice, but four times in one night.
I have never experienced anything like this.
I don’t even know what to do now. Most men I have sex with, after they finish, they put their pants on, and say they have to dip.
Or I put my clothes on and tell them I have work early in the morning—which I usually don’t.
Will he go into the other room since he is technically forced to be here with me?
Is he going to continue to lie here in silence until I do something?
Is this the time for pillow talk? Is this the part where you ask them about their five-year life plan?
What do I even say? What do I ask? “Hey, want to put your dick in my vagina now?”
I roll on my side toward him, opening my mouth and quickly shutting it with a small gasp. He looks at me without moving, side-eyeing me. I think I should say something.
“What are you— What are you thinking about?” I embarrassingly spit out.
Nope, this shouldn’t happen. I need to get back into the streets. I am letting down the community for being this nervous around this guy.
“You,” he says, turning on his side to face me. His hand brushes a piece of hair that has fallen onto my face and he softly kisses my forehead.
Oh my god. Butterflies. I have butterflies. This is a red flag, right? He is a red flag. Shit, I am the red flag! I just said I only fuck. I don’t do this “make love, stay the night and cuddle” shit. Maybe I am in just in a dick trance. It will go away. It will pass.
He closes his eyes when we hear his phone ring in the other room. He huffs and retreats off the bed.
I turn to my bedside table where my phone is and send a text to Marge that I am not going to be in today.
I’m also not scheduled for the whole week, which means I will be spending this whole week fucking sexy Irishman until I am over it and don’t have any weird feelings toward him except for my reasonable yet unreasonable hatred toward him.
I put my phone down and turn back around to see Jace standing in the doorway.
“Come here, I need to show you something.”
I jump out of bed and grab the closest pair of shorts I see on the floor. I run to the living room and pause when I see the duffle bag open and filled with multiple guns. My mouth gapes as I stare at it.
I knew there were weapons in that damn bag.
He reaches down, picking up the one that lies on top, and holds it out to me. “I’m going to teach you.”
“Why?” I ask.
“You need to learn. Now come here.”
I take hesitant steps toward him until he pulls at my arm, putting my back against his chest. He puts the gun in my hand and points to a target that he must have taped on the wall above our kitchen.
“The bullets in here aren’t real. They won’t kill someone, but they can do some severe damage.
” He sets his head right between my neck and shoulder, holding onto my hands as he shows me how to hold the gun and where the safety is.
His voice trickles into my ear, causing my legs to tremble all over again.
“Now point and aim in the middle,” he orders.
We point the gun together and I pull the trigger. When I open my eyes—because yes, I did close them—I see I hit the target, not in the middle, but at least it was the target.
“Good. You’re a natural.”
Both our hands are still on the gun and I feel his finger put the safety on as he uses his head to bend my neck and start kissing me. I lean my body back into him, so ready to go again.
“Now be a good girl and go take a shower before your friend comes home, yeah?” he whispers.
“What?” I turn around as he grabs the gun from my hand and sticks it behind the couch.
“They are on their way home. You smell like sex. Go shower.” He crosses his arms over his chest.
I feel my shoulders drop as I look at the ground.
I called out my last day of work to be with him and now it is about to be over.
This is what I wanted though, right? To fuck and get it out of my system?
Well, it’s not out of my system. I want more, need more.
We didn’t even fuck, he just really knows how to use that Irish mouth of his.
I pick my head back up, looking at him. “I don’t smell like sex.”
He stalks toward me and leans down into my face. “Oh, but you do. Now please go shower before I rip your clothes off again and take you here on these floors for our friends to see when they come home.” His accent rolls off his tongue like smooth whiskey.
I stare at him, waiting, because maybe I don’t want him to leave.
The air in my chest constricts when he doesn’t break eye contact.
He slowly lifts his hand around my neck, pulling me closer to him for our lips to crash together.
He wraps his tongue around mine as I dance on a cloud I never want to fall from.
His hands leave my neck, picking me up by my ass.
I wrap my legs around him for stability, feeling him walk toward the bedroom.
He stops kissing me and places me on my bathroom counter. He kisses my forehead and walks out of the room, closing the door behind him. I run my hands through my hair, taking a deep breath before jumping off the counter and turning on my shower.
When I open my bedroom door, I can hear voices coming from outside. I quickly throw my towel on the bed, running out of the room to see the front door open, Celeste standing on the porch steps.
I sprint to her, slamming straight into her back, almost knocking us over. “Oh god, I’m so glad you are home,” I say, still holding onto her. My smile falls when I see Jace getting in his car. I grab Celeste’s arm, dragging her into the house.
“Did we get new doors?” she asks as she walks ahead of me into the living room.
As I am about to respond, I spot the sandwich I tossed on the floor while Jace’s tongue was deep in my throat.
My eyes scan the floor, trying to figure out what to do with it.
My only option is to kick it under the lamp table.
“Yeah, don’t worry about it,” I say, pushing Celeste further into the living room, toward the couch.
Thank god she didn’t see that. I’ll clean it up later.
Celeste tells me all about her trip while we finish a whole bottle of wine.
She tells me how she went to confront Rowan about the mystery woman I took a photo of at the club.
Then some big scary people came and broke into Rowan’s house and Celeste hid under the table while Rowan went and killed all of them in less than ten minutes.
And because Rowan was scared that they saw her car outside, they had to take off and fly to Italy in his private jet to lay low until they figured out what the hell was going on.
Then she met Rowan’s aunt, and she broke down that Rowan had gotten involved with the mafia.
My mind blanks out when I hear “Italian mafia.” How do you accidentally get involved with the mafia?
I bite on my nails, hiding my trembling lips.
Jace was here to protect me. I gave him such a hard time in the beginning but all he was meant to do was protect me.
Even if he was ordered to do it, I don’t think he was ordered to show me how to use this fake little—but real—gun.
Clearing my throat, I say, “Don’t worry, Celeste. I’ll protect you.”
“I love you so much, Lily, but how would you—”
I reach behind the couch, pulling out the cute little gun I now have. Celeste’s eyes go wide as I turn the gun in my hand, inspecting it.
“What the fuck, Lily?! Where did you get that? Do you even know how to—”
I point the gun above her head at the target in the kitchen, turn the safety off, and pull the trigger. Celeste ducks and quickly turns around to see where I shot. She gets up and stands on the kitchen counter before looking back at me.
“Like I said, I can protect us.” I shrug my shoulders, turn the safety back on, and stuff it into the couch. “Jace—” I slam my mouth shut, afraid to tell her. She knows I hate him. I know I hate him, I think... No, I do. I especially hate that he left. “Taught me,” I finish.
“Jace taught you?” She crosses her arms as she leans on the counter.
I bring my hand back to my mouth, biting on my nails.
Okay, maybe I shouldn’t lie, but I can’t tell her what happened.
I don’t know how she will react if she finds out I did things with her boyfriend's coworker.
Best friend? No, coworker. Wow, I barely know him.
Maybe this empty feeling will be easy to get over then.
“Mhm. Yeah, these past couple of days were kind of hell having him in the house.” I shrug my shoulders. “We fought a lot.”
I watch her eyes squint as she stares at me.
“Anyway. I took the week off, and I heard you quit your job. So, let’s party!”
Celeste drops her arms and her eyes go low.
“Okay maybe not party since I have school, but we have a lot more free time! Let’s go to Club Opal!”
Celeste shakes her head and starts walking toward the hallway to her room.
“Is that a no?”
