BONUS SCENE

Rowan

Jace jumps out the vehicle, running to the trunk of the SUV and pulling out all our bags.

I open one and start handing the rifles to Jace and Noah.

Jace pulls out three bulletproof vests, each of us putting them on.

Noah pulls out his machete, twirling it in the sunlight.

Once we are all set, we look at each other, nodding.

Jace slams the trunk shut and I run to Celeste’s door, swinging it open.

“Not this again.” She rolls her eyes when I put the Glock in her lap.

I give her a kiss on the forehead, closing her passenger door, and walk up to stand next to Jace and Noah.

The warehouse reminds me of a shipment container.

One exit on each end, with the unknown inside.

We all nod to each other, pulling down our masks.

Jace swings the door open, heading in first, finger pulling the trigger.

I’m right behind him, shooting every man in sight above Jace’s shoulder.

The long hallway has doors inches from each other.

Noah behind us, starts opening them, women screaming at the sight of him.

A man tackles me from my left, coming out of one of the rooms. I slam the end of my gun into his head, flipping it around and pulling the trigger at his side temple.

Standing, I feel eyes on the back of my head.

Turning around, I can see a man in a window, and within seconds, I lift my gun and shoot.

I turn to my right, seeing Noah slash the neck of a guy he’s wrestling with. “Noah, cover Jace ahead! They are hiding in the rooms!”

“No shit!” He stands, running past me.

The outside of the warehouse looked fucking small, but as soon as we stepped in, it was larger than we expected, and we did not expect this many men hiding in one spot.

I swing the door open in front of me to make sure the man I shot through the window is dead and to double-check none of his friends are in here.

I see a red river flowing on the floor. When I drag my eyes up, I see Lily sitting in the corner, naked, with a straitjacket wrapped around her.

“In here!” I scream at Jace. He turns his head to me, stepping on every man who has fallen, pushing me to the side, his eyes finding Lily.

I walk away from the door, giving them privacy.

At the end of the hall, Noah is making his way through every room, swinging his knife around like a gladiator.

He stands on top of a man, slamming the machete into the victim's forehead.

A man pops out of a room wearing a suit, and dashes toward the back exit.

Noah pulls out a blade from his pants and sends it flying through the air, striking the man on the back of his knee. The man wails, falling to the floor.

Noah makes it to the man, grabbing him by the collar of his suit jacket, machete pinned to his neck.

“Wait!” I scream.

I walk toward them and come face to face with the one and only Lancer Harper. I push Noah to the side, picking Lance up by the neck, and slam his head against the wall. I place my arm on his neck to pin him there.

“Well, if it isn't father of the year,” I say in his face.

“Oh shit,” Noah whispers. I can hear his boots crunch on broken glass as he walks away.

Lance tries to speak, but when he opens his mouth, I press my arm against his Adam's apple harder.

“No need to speak, Lance. You had your chance a long time ago.” I press the muzzle of my gun into his forehead.

“I would say you’re lucky Jace didn’t let me kill you that night.

But...” I turn my head, looking. Noah is dragging bodies out into the hallway, piling them up.

“I think this might be a misfortune for you. Losing your men. Losing… as always.” I stare into his eyes, easing off his neck a little because a part of me would like to hear what he has to say.

Using my hand that is holding the gun, I pull my mask up and over my head, quickly pointing my weapon back at him.

As soon as he opens his mouth, I pull the trigger.

I changed my mind. I don’t want to hear his lies, excuses, or manipulating words about why he is trafficking woman to Italy.

I release the grip I have on his neck, letting his body slide to the ground.

I back away a few steps before I pull the trigger two more times, hitting his chest and stomach.

“I’m going to buy you a trophy that says, My Favorite Son,” Noah says as he comes to stand beside me.

“Do you ever shut the fuck up?” I pat down my lifeless father, finding a burner phone in his pocket and a medallion ring that looked similar to the one John had. I look around at all the bodies on the floor. “Where is Mateo?”

“Not here.”

“What do you mean, not here?!” I start walking down the hallway, scanning the faces of the dead bodies, trying to find that fucker. I turn to Noah. He stands behind me, covered in more blood than any of us.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” he asks.

“He said this wasn’t over.” I laugh maniacally,

walking toward the exit of the building. “I’m going to kill both of those bastards.”
