Chapter 28

Asher

That damn dress is definitely going to kill me.

I probably shouldn’t feel primal satisfaction because I knew that I’d purchased that cock-hardening dress for her, but I didn’t give a shit.

My woman looked absolutely radiant, and my dick was hard as we sat in one of the best restaurants in Austin.

We’d spent the day exploring some of the historical sights and the art museum.

It had been an amazing day for both of us, but the evening was getting downright uncomfortable for me.

Would I change it if I could?

Hell, no, I wouldn’t.

My woman was happy and glowing in that fuck-me coral dress, and I wouldn’t change that for all the discomfort in the world.

Honestly, the dress wasn’t incredibly revealing, but it was the most skin she’d ever shown, and it had felt like a gut punch when I’d realized that I could get a small glimpse of the scar on her chest in the halter neckline.

She didn’t seem to have a problem revealing a little of that scar, and it hadn’t escaped my notice that she was showing the curve of her breasts and a significant amount of cleavage.

It didn’t help knowing that she wasn’t wearing a bra, either.

There was no way she could in that dress.

The skirt was flowy, but the seductive slit up the side was one of the hottest things I’d ever seen.

It was classy, but sexy as hell when she flashed those perfect legs of hers.

I was in hell and enjoying every moment of it.

Maybe I was a masochist, but there was nothing like seeing my woman find her self-confidence.

In my mind, she never should have lost it in the first place, but I’d be more than happy to keep reminding her that she was perfection.

I was convinced that her objective had been to get me hard, and she’d overwhelmingly succeeded.

I hadn’t been particularly happy that she’d needed to borrow a bag and shoes from Reese because she didn’t have anything appropriate to go with her dress.

She should have bought whatever she needed.

But I was going to have to suck it up.

She was compromising, and I was going to have to do the same.

She was letting me buy her things, and that was a step forward for her.

If I wanted Sierra, which I most definitely did, I was going to have to lose some of the huge ego I’d developed after reaching billionaire status.

To her, I was just a man, and I liked the fact that she saw me that way.

“How’s the food?” I asked.

We’d both ordered steaks, and mine was more than adequate.

“Fantastic,” she said with a flirty smile. “As you can see, I was hungry.”

I grinned at her.

She’d already finished most of her steak and side dishes.

My woman had an appetite, and she wasn’t afraid to admit that she was a hopeless foodie.

That was just one more thing I liked about her, because I was a guy who liked my food.

“I haven’t been here in a long time,” I told her. “I forgot how good the food is here.”

“I don’t know how you could possibly forget,” she said in an awed voice. “I know I won’t.”

“Get used to it,” I told her. “I like good restaurants.”

“I can definitely get used to eating food this good,” she said in a joking tone.

“Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?” I asked as I put my utensils on my empty plate and reached for my drink.

“At least a hundred times now,” she answered in a playful voice.

I shrugged. “I can’t help it. That dress is killing me. It’s sexy as fuck, and I’m pretty sure you know what it does to me.”

Her cheeks actually flushed a little, and it was one of the cutest things I’d ever seen.

She obviously wasn’t used to being the center of a man’s attention for all of the right reasons.

She was a woman who turned heads, especially mine, and she should never have to wonder how I felt about her.

“I think I like looking sexy,” she mused.

“Mission accomplished,” I said drily.

“It’s not really that daring of a dress,” she observed.

I shook my head. “It doesn’t have to be. It’s just enough to make a man fantasize about what’s under that dress.”

“You know exactly what’s under this dress,” she said lightly.

“Yeah,” I agreed. “And the reminder is a problem for me, sweetheart.”

She laughed, a musical sound that made my damn dick twitch.

“I’ll take care of that problem when we get back to the hotel,” she said in a seductive voice.

Fucking hell!

I wasn’t sure if I could wait that long.

I tried to distract myself by glancing at her face, but that didn’t help one damn bit.

Her hair was up in an elegant style I’d never seen before, and it made me want to bury my face in the soft curve of her neck.

I really wished I had bought her a pair of earrings that would complement a nice dress.

Her costume earrings were pretty, but my woman deserved to wear the expensive jewelry I wanted to see on her.

Diamonds or emeralds.

Either one would look good with her gorgeous eyes.

My gaze dropped to her tantalizing lips that were covered with a sexy red color that made me want to kiss her until she was moaning in my arms.

Fuck!

I wanted this woman in a way I’d never wanted a woman before…almost to the point of madness, which I knew probably wasn’t healthy. But it was out of my control.

She existed.

I reacted.

I wanted to claim her.

I wanted to show her exactly how much I wanted her.

And I wanted to do it right fucking now.

Patience was the one thing I was always going to struggle with when it came to her.

I went from zero to sixty with Sierra in less than a heartbeat.

“What are you thinking about?” she asked in a curious voice.

I shot her a warning glance. “That’s probably not something we need to talk about in a public place.”

She giggled as she reached for her wine. “You’ll tell me later?”

“Baby, I’ll show you later,” I promised her as my gaze roamed over her hungrily.

The restaurant was supposed to be romantic, and Sierra looked pretty damn alluring in the candlelight.

I couldn’t seem to drag my gaze away from her.

She squirmed a little in her seat, and I sent her a satisfied smirk.

If I had to sit here with a rock-hard cock, it wouldn’t hurt for her to be a little hot and bothered.

The problem was…it killed me not to give her exactly what she needed.

The instinct to satisfy her was always there for me.

Sierra smiled at the waitress as she dropped off the two desserts that we’d taken to go.

“Should we go?” she asked.

I nodded at her glass. “Finish your wine.”

“I think I’m getting a little tipsy,” she confessed, her voice slightly embarrassed.

I grinned at her.

She was obviously a lightweight.

It was only her third glass of wine.

I shrugged and tossed back the last of a very good whiskey. “We’re not driving.”

I’d hired a car while we were in Austin.

It was my preferred way to get around when I was traveling.

I was usually doing business in the back of the vehicle while I was getting from place to place.

“I can’t remember the last time I had drinks,” she said in a thoughtful voice. “The wine is so good here that I couldn’t resist that third glass.”

“There’s nothing wrong with liking some good wine with good food,” I told her.

I wasn’t really a wine drinker, but when she’d asked me for help with the wine list, I’d picked one that I was fairly certain she’d like. I might not drink much wine, but I’d been in the fine wine circles since the start of my financial success.

My dick got impossibly harder as she drained her glass and licked her lips.

“One more?” I asked.

She shook her head. “You’d have to carry me out of here. I’m not used to alcohol anymore.”

I would have happily carried her, but I didn’t want her to get sick.

I stood and pulled her to her feet.

I grinned when she wobbled a little on her high heels.

She obviously was a little tipsy.

I wrapped an arm around her waist and put my mouth close to her ear. “I could easily take advantage of your slightly inebriated state.”

She snorted as we walked through the restaurant toward the exit. “You wouldn’t be taking advantage of me. I’m always way too eager to let you touch me.”

Yeah, and I felt like a lucky guy every single time she let me explore that gorgeous body of hers.

“I want you so much,” Sierra said quietly when we finally left the restaurant.

My gut twisted when she looked up at me with desire in her eyes.

My woman wanted, and it killed me not to give her what she needed.

Yeah, maybe her inhibitions were lower because she’d had a few glasses of wine, but the yearning in her beautiful green eyes was fucking real.

“Get in,” I said tightly as our limo pulled up and the valet opened the car door.

I didn’t miss the appreciative look that the valet gave my woman as she slid into the vehicle.

Mine!

Hell, I knew men were going to look sometimes, but that didn’t mean I had to like it.

I tried to tell myself that the looks didn’t matter as long as they didn’t touch, but I knew that was total bullshit.

Those appreciative glances from other men made me possessive as hell, an emotion I never thought I’d ever experience.

I tipped the valet instead of punching him in the face, which took some effort.

Mine!

I dropped the desserts on the floor of the car and closed the partition between ourselves and driver.

The need to satisfy and claim my woman was killing me, and I knew I was never going to make it to the hotel.

I’d probably be disgusted with myself later for being a caveman, but at the moment, I just didn’t give a rat’s ass.
