Chapter 19 #2
“Shh.” He adds another kiss to the first. Sliding me underneath him until my hips cradle his. “Stay with me.” He kisses me slow and deep, rocking his hips against my clit with measured strokes that reignite last night’s fire. “This what you need?”
“I need—” The pressure builds low in my belly. “I need—”
“Anything. It’s yours.” He kisses his way down my throat, through the cotton of my t-shirt, until he slips my panties from my hips and settles with my thighs over his shoulders. His tongue dances across my clit, and I can’t control myself. My worries and fears vanish like vapor.
Fireworks and stars as intense as last night’s break my brain.
Why was I worried?
What consequences could be bad enough to make me not want this again? Not want him again?
When I come back to myself, he kisses my inner thigh with a satisfied smirk. “There’s my Comet. What a fucking beautiful sight first thing in the morning. Has anyone ever told you how sexy you look when you’re coming apart? I’m one lucky man.”
I brush the hair from his eyes. “No one has ever done that the way you do.” Most don’t bother to take the time.
“Is that a good thing?”
“Babe, you’re the best.” The endearment slips past my defenses before I can stop it.
But Landon doesn’t miss it. “Babe? I like it, but you can do better than a generic nickname.” He settles on his forearms between my thighs and continues kissing my flesh, teasing me, taunting me with his wicked mouth but never quit kissing me where I want him to. “What other nicknames do you have?”
“I…ahh.” How does he expect me to think when his tongue flicks my clit like that?
I’m a mess of nerve endings that want to ignite, but he’s a master who knows how to delay my pleasure, building it higher and higher with every subtle graze of his lips. His hands massage my hips and slide over my stomach to toy with my breasts.
I’m panting. Squirming beneath him. “Oh, God.”
“I appreciate the enthusiasm, but that name’s taken.” He slides up my body and presses his cock against my wet core. “Do you want this?”
“Yes.”
He grabs another condom from my bedside table and rolls it down his length. I want to swat his hands away and do it myself, but I don’t have the coordination to lift my arm, let alone stroke him. He’s made me completely useless.
I tug at his hips. “Now. More. Please.”
He slams into me in one swift motion, stretching me with delicious pain. “Good girl. You’re so fucking perfect.” He whispers in my ear. His hips pump, and I match him stroke for stroke to the best of my ability.
Why can’t I be more coordinated? I want him to feel as amazing as I do, but I can’t keep up. Boneless, wrung out, my body has used all its energy exploding in orgasm after orgasm.
He pushes me over the edge again, and this time instead of fireworks, I see stars. My vision drops to pinpricks of light as my body becomes a mass of tingles and sweeping pleasure that steals my breath.
Landon slams into me again and again. I cling to him and urge him toward his release. I pulse my inner walls to make it tighter for him. His hips jolt and his body stills as his orgasm takes him. My body glows with the satisfaction of pleasuring him.
When he comes back to his body, he tugs me to his chest and rolls us so I’m draped across him. “You’re going to have to kick me out of this bed because I’m never leaving. Comet, you are my goddess. I will worship you for as long as I live.”
My first instinct is to ignore the compliment and convince myself he’s high on his orgasm and doesn’t mean what he’s saying.
But it’s not the first time he’s praised me. He calls me beautiful and sexy. He didn’t give up when I told him we couldn’t be together.
This. Man. Wants. Me.
More than just tonight, if I interpret his words and actions correctly.
My body tingles with excitement that just maybe Landon and I will be more than notches in each other’s bedposts.
He kisses me sweetly. “I’ll be right back.” He slips into the bathroom and disposes of the condom. When he returns, he has a warm washcloth for me. “Shower or breakfast first?”
“Shower.”
He slips back into the bathroom and turns on the water. When I stand, I’m unsteady on my feet, my thighs and core sore from our activities.
I wrap my arms around Landon’s waist and press a kiss to his spine. “This is amazing.” Can I keep you? is on the tip of my tongue, but I know that’s not a possibility.
I may not be just another woman in another town, but who do I think I am that he’ll stay?
That’s not my destiny.
Landon has obligations and responsibilities around the globe. As much as I hope this is the beginning of a long relationship, I know it won’t be. I will be content with what I get.
I drag him into the shower with me, and we lather, rinse, and repeat until I don’t think my body has another orgasm in it.
I am so spoiled.
We share a simple breakfast of yogurt and fruit. He’s cheesy and adorable, feeding me blackberries from his spoon with a kiss for a chaser.
Afterward, I walk him to the door. “I need to get to work. I have a meeting to prepare for.”
He steps onto the front porch and jiggles his keys like he’s loath to leave. Honestly, I don’t want him to leave either, but real-life calls.
“Dinner later?” he asks.
I drape my arms around his shoulders. “Are you cooking again?”
“I can. What do you want?”
I catch my lip between my teeth. Can I really ask him for what I want? Is it that simple?
His thumb traces the movement and tugs my lip free. “Anything, remember?”
“More of you.”
He smirks and kisses the crinkle in my forehead. “That’s a given.”
“Otherwise, I don’t care.”
“Then I’ll surprise you. What time are you home?”
“I should be done around 5:30.”
“Meet you here at six?”
He leans into me and kisses me breathless before I can answer, but our lips say everything that needs to be said in this moment. His hands remind me what I have to look forward to tonight.
This man is too perfect for words.
And he’s mine until he decides to leave. But I’ll deal with the fallout later.
I stand on my porch until Landon’s SUV turns the corner. I press my fingertips to my lips and collapse against the doorframe to relive his last kiss.
Holy cow. I didn’t know my body was capable of those sensations. Especially not for such a prolonged period of time.
“I wouldn’t believe you if I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes.”
My gaze snaps toward the husky voice. Ice water dumped on my head would be more pleasant. Elsbeth and Lucky stand on the sidewalk, tucked behind my neighbor’s truck.
Elsbeth glances at her phone screen. “Do you believe it, Lucky?”
Lucky takes the phone and turns it toward me. A photo of Landon pressing me against the side of my house with his hands on my ass stares back at me. I look like I’m dry humping him, ready to rip our clothes off.
“A picture’s worth a thousand words.” Lucky folds her arms over her chest as her judgmental glare sweeps over me. “I guess someone doesn’t believe in appropriate public decorum for elected officials.”
“Not that anyone elected her.” Elsbeth nudges Lucky’s elbow. “Or will when they see this.” They grimace like I’m branded in every place Landon kissed me. Every orgasm he wrung from my body flashes like a neon sign across my hips.
“Good morning, ladies.” I keep my tone sugar sweet. “No one cares who I date.”
They can keep their judgement. Landon and I didn’t do anything wrong.
I refuse to give in to the sting spreading behind my chest. It won’t engulf me or make me regret last night. Who I date is not the town’s business.
“Can I help you with something?” I ask.
Lucky’s smile turns wicked. “Just enjoying a morning stroll. Paisley will love watching your walk of shame.”
Elsbeth giggles and types furiously on her phone.
“My love life isn’t any of your business. I would appreciate if you exercised some class.”
Lucky drums her fingers on her side. “Interesting you picked him. After all these years being single, you snag a man ten years older than you. The one guy your dad absolutely hates? Wow. Daddy issues, Baby Girl?”
Elsbeth shows Lucky her phone. “Paisley responded with a puke emoji.”
“You need to grow up.”
“We aren’t the ones sneaking around behind everyone’s back.”
“That’s not what this is.”
“Is he your boyfriend then?”
I bite the inside of my cheek. Why do we need a label? Why can’t we be consenting adults enjoying each other’s company?
“Whoops.” Elsbeth giggles again. “My bad.”
“What?” Lucky glances at Elsbeth’s phone. A manic smile overwhelms her face. “Too late now.”
My phone starts ringing inside.
“This is going to be the best day ever.” Lucky wiggles her fingers in farewell. “See you at the council meeting.” They burst into laughter and walk down the sidewalk.
I hate those women.
I slam the door and grab my phone from the charger. It’s Dad. Elsbeth sent the picture to the entire town council, including my father.
Perfect.
