Chapter 277

The atmosphere in the boardroom had shifted from tension to something far more fragile—calculation.

The shareholders were no longer looking at authority. They were looking at risk.

They had all heard the same rumor: the Fox Group’s core projects had originally been secured through Khloe’s influence.

Now, with Morrison Group’s sudden withdrawal of investment, the company was bleeding at multiple points.

And the same woman they had dismissed before…

had been called back to stabilize everything.

One shareholder finally broke the silence.

“Khloe…” he began cautiously, choosing his words carefully. “Even if there are personal grievances between you and the Fox family, airing them like this in a boardroom… isn’t it going a bit far?”

Khloe didn’t respond immediately.

Instead, she smiled.

It was faint. Controlled. Almost polite.

But it carried no warmth at all.

She lifted a hand slightly, and one of the lawyers stepped forward, placing a tablet in front of her.

Khloe turned the screen outward.

“Before we continue,” she said evenly, “you might want to take a look at what’s already circulating this morning.”

Confused murmurs rose around the table.

Then the first few executives leaned in.

And the room changed.

“Wait—this is…”

“What is this headline?”

The title was bold, unavoidable, and explosive:

[CEO of Prominent Goldmont City Family Enterprise Exposed for Bigamy; Two-Year Deception of Female Employee Revealed]

The attached report was detailed—so detailed it read like a carefully compiled dossier. Names were omitted, but not enough to protect anyone who knew the Fox Group.

Blurred images. Familiar silhouettes. Corporate references disguised just enough to avoid legal liability—but not enough to hide the truth.

Within seconds, several faces in the room turned pale.

The two minority shareholders stiffened.

Arthur’s expression went rigid.

Trey stared at the screen like it had struck him physically.

Then his voice exploded.

“Khloe!” Arthur’s hand slammed the table. “You vicious, scheming woman!”

But Khloe didn’t even look at him.

She kept her attention on the room.

“This was released this morning,” she said calmly. “It’s already trending across multiple platforms. By now, I’m sure many of your partners, clients, and competitors have seen it.”

A ripple of unease spread through the executives.

Phones were being checked under the table.

Faces were tightening.

The Fox Group wasn’t just facing internal restructuring anymore—it was facing reputational collapse in real time.

Trey finally found his voice, but it came out strained.

“Khloe… you said… If I transferred the shares, you wouldn’t—”

He stopped.

The humiliation in his chest made it hard to breathe.

He couldn’t even finish the sentence.

Khloe finally turned to him.

Her gaze was steady.

Cold.

“You assumed a condition that I never agreed to,” she said simply. “That is your mistake, not mine.”

Trey’s jaw tightened. “You’re going too far. This is sabotage.”

Khloe let out a quiet breath, almost like she found the word amusing.

“Sabotage?” she repeated softly. “Trey, you spent years using me as leverage for your personal life. You hid your marriage, used my work, and let me clean up your consequences.”

Her eyes lifted slightly.

“Now you’re telling me I’m going too far?”

The silence that followed was heavier than anger.

Arthur looked like he wanted to speak again—but the words caught in his throat when he saw the state of the room.

This wasn’t resistance anymore.

It was a fracture.

Khloe turned her attention back to the shareholders.

“Gentlemen,” she said, tone measured, “you don’t have to like me. But you do have to decide what you’re willing to lose.”

She tapped the tablet once.

“The market is already reacting. Investors are pulling back. If this continues for another few hours, Fox Group will be fighting liquidity issues—not reputation ones.”

A pause.

Then she added, almost gently:

“And I don’t think any of you came here today to lose everything.”

The room went quiet again.

This time, it wasn’t hesitation.

It was a calculation under pressure.

One of the minority shareholders slowly exhaled. His eyes shifted from Arthur… to Trey… and then to Khloe.

The answer was already forming before he spoke.

“I… support the motion,” he said quietly. Then, more firmly, “Immediate removal of Trey Fox as CEO, and Arthur Fox from chairman duties. The company cannot afford further damage.”

Arthur’s face turned livid.

Trey went still.

And in that silence, the balance of Fox Group tipped—for good.
