Chapter 15. #2

She turned and walked away down the corridor, already composing the private mental file that would sit alongside every other quiet detail she tracked for Brian. Dani watched her go, then touched the earpiece at her collar and resumed her own circuit of the floor.

Both women knew exactly where Brian was.

One level below, in the wide private kitchen that connected to the residence dining room, he had Dominique bent forward over the cool marble island.

His hands were locked on her hips, his cock buried to the hilt inside her as he drove deep, steady strokes that had already pulled one shaking orgasm from her and were rapidly building the second.

Dominique’s cheek was pressed to the stone, lips parted on broken sounds she was trying to keep quiet.

Brian’s focus was absolute… on the heat of her, the way she clenched around him, the rising tension in her thighs.

Constance had made certain the morning calendar showed a clean, uninterrupted block.

No calls. No meetings. No sudden “emergencies” that could not wait.

Dani had taken it a step further: the corridor outside the kitchen was quietly steered clear, staff redirected, and the soft security presence adjusted so that no one would open the wrong door at the wrong moment.

The napkins were already locked away.

The conversation about the bar was already over.

And Brian, balls-deep and relentless, kept moving toward the moment Dominique shattered for him a second time… completely free to do so because two of the women who organized and protected his life had made sure the time, and the silence, belonged to him.

Danny leaned back in the wide upholstered chair, the taste of the meal still lingering on his tongue.

Everything about the last few hours felt unreal…

the height of the suite, the quiet efficiency of the staff, the ocean visible in the distance, and the simple fact that the plate in front of him had held the best food he had eaten in years.

He had not realized how long it had been since a meal felt like anything more than fuel until Victoria had ordered for them and the courses began to arrive.

Victoria moved around the table with calm, unhurried grace.

She stacked the dirty plates and silverware onto the serving cart the hotel had left, rolled it neatly toward the door, and left it in the hallway for the staff to collect later.

When she came back she did not ask permission.

She simply walked to his chair, turned, and settled herself across his lap as if the seat had always belonged to both of them.

Danny’s hands lifted automatically to her waist. Before he could speak she leaned in and kissed him… soft at first, then fuller when he did not pull away.

“Let me relax you,” she whispered against his mouth.

He opened his eyes. Up close she was even more striking than she had been that morning in his old apartment: the deep blue of her eyes, the smooth skin, the way her blonde hair fell forward when she leaned over him. The weight of her on his thighs was warm and solid and dangerously easy to accept.

“Victoria…” His voice came out rougher than he intended. “I don’t want to take advantage of you. Just because you were paid to let me…”

She smiled, small and knowing, and rested her forehead lightly against his.

“Brian left instructions,” she murmured. “He told me you were a decent guy. He said you would say exactly that.” She kissed him again, slower this time. “He did not pay me to have sex with you. He only required that whoever took this role had to be genuinely willing. The rest was my choice.”

Danny’s breath caught. The words settled over him like a second kind of heat.

He had spent the entire day trying to keep a careful distance inside his own head…

grateful, overwhelmed, determined not to treat the woman Brian had sent as something owed to him.

Hearing her say the willingness was real cracked that distance open.

Victoria shifted on his lap so she could look at him more directly. One of her hands came up to rest against the side of his neck, thumb brushing the edge of his jaw.

“I want this,” she said, voice low and steady.

“Even if I am not your girlfriend. Even if tomorrow or next week you decide your heart is somewhere else. I can still be yours in the ways that matter right now. I can take care of the things that need taking care of. I can stand beside you while you figure out what this new life is going to look like. And I can do this…” her hips moved in a slow, deliberate roll that made his breath stutter “…because I want to. Not because a contract told me to.”

Danny’s hands tightened on her waist. The last of the careful restraint he had been holding onto began to fray.

She was a dream he had never allowed himself to have: small enough that he felt large beside her, beautiful in a way that still did not feel entirely real, and sitting on his lap telling him she was choosing him with open eyes.

The desire that had been simmering under the shock and gratitude all day climbed higher, thick and undeniable.

She kissed him again. This time her tongue traced the seam of his lips until he opened for her.

The kiss deepened, turned wet and intimate, and Danny felt the last of his hesitation dissolve under the simple fact of her mouth and the soft weight of her body.

When she finally pulled back they were both breathing harder.

“I want this,” she repeated, quieter now. “I chose it. Let me show you.”

She stood, took both of his hands, and drew him to his feet.

Danny followed without resistance. His mouth was dry; he swallowed what little moisture was left and let her lead him across the living space toward the open bedroom doors.

The suite was quiet except for the low hum of the city far below and the sound of their footsteps on the polished floor.

At the threshold Victoria glanced back over her shoulder, a small, private smile curving her mouth.

“Tomorrow,” she whispered, “we can see about Tanya. If that is what you want. Tonight is just us.”

Then she turned fully, rose onto her toes, and kissed him once more before her fingers moved to the buttons of his shirt.

Danny’s hands rose to help her, clumsy with sudden need, as she began to undress them both beneath the soft light of the bedroom.

The day that had rewritten his entire existence was ending the only way it could…

with the woman who had walked into his old life willingly offering herself to the man he was still learning how to be.
