Chapter 16 #3

“Exactly, so spill!” Gran adds, slapping my knee, making me jump, turning to see that same look she gives when she doesn’t expect anything less than what she wants to hear.

“Fine.” I sigh deeply. “But this CAN’T leave the table or else I’ll really get in trouble,” I whisper in hush tones, as the two of them nod quickly in agreement, scooting their chairs as close to me as they can go.

“So this is just a theory,” I start, “But…I think you’re right, Gran, he might have a sex dungeon in there.” I admit, with my eyes closed.

“WHAT??” They harshly whisper in unison, quickly covering their mouths to suppress their shock.

Oh god, I knew it would sound weirder if I said it out loud.

“How do you know?” Macy asks, still whispering.

“I don’t for sure, but-” I pause, checking the doorway leading to the living room, wishing there was a door there I could close.

“But when Theo and I were on our way here, he asked me if I could be one of Oliver’s monthly friends,” I explain, but it only confuses both of them more.

“What the bloody hell does that mean?” Gran asks, creasing her brows.

“I don’t know exactly, but from what I managed to get out of him, his dad takes him to meet different women; they’re named after the month in a year, and Theo says they never sleep over, but he’s always in bed and knocked out by 19:15.”

“What if Gran is right and he has another entrance to that room where someone from the outside can get in that room, and I never see anything because he waits until I’m asleep by the time he finishes whatever they do in there, and he goes up to bed,” I suggest, with a shiver running down my spine.

It puts me on edge knowing that things are going on in the house I’m living in that I don’t know about.

No shame to anyone with kinks; you do you, boo.

I mean, I like what I like when it comes to sex, but I’d prefer to know about it; I just hate not knowing things.

At least give me a heads up. I wait patiently for the girls to process what I said so they can tell me what to do next.

I almost feel like that was enough information for them to drop the subject, but the moment Macy opens her mouth, I know yet again that I’m wrong.

“Oh man, now I want to see pictures,” Macy exclaims, looking at Gran.

“I need to know if he wears ass-less chaps,” Gran laughs.

“If he does, he’s probably got a whip to match.” Macy chimes in, and they cackle with each other.

“Guys, this isn’t funny! I could be living with a sex freak; what if he goes all Fifty Shades of Grey and tries to ask me to join in?” I panic, not being able to help thinking of the most outrageous scenario.

Suddenly, they both stop laughing and look at me.

“Would you?” they ask in unison as I look back at them like they’ve both lost their minds, but I don’t even have the time to answer their ridiculous question when Theo comes running into the room.

“Luna!” he calls, climbing into my lap as the three of us put a pin on our recent gossip.

“What’s up, sweetie?” I ask, running my fingers through his hair.

“Is Ollie going to call today?” he asks as Gran and Macy both give me a weird look.

“Who’s Ollie?” Macy asks, the room as I turn to Theo.

“Yes, Sweetie, Oliver is going to call tonight before you go to bed,” I say, using Surly Bastard’s first name, so they know who Theo was referring to. But I knew that mentioning it triggered Gran’s generational judgment.

“Theo,” she calls as he turns to look at her, like he knows he’s about to get told off.

“Why do you call your father, Oliver?” she asks, as we all turn to look at him, but Theo just looks confused. He frowns, pouting his lips as he takes a moment to think about Gran’s question.

I start to think it’s too much for his little mind to comprehend, as I’ve heard of some parents who tell their children to call them by their first name, and Oliver is still young. Maybe being called Dad isn’t something he wants.

I know that’s hard for Gran to understand, as she comes from the generation where you were raised and taught to use the correct terminology when it comes to your elders, no matter how it makes you feel or if it’s weird to be referred to that way.

I open my mouth to step in on Theo’s behalf, but he beats me to it.

“You mean Ollie?” Theo asks, checking before he answers; the three of us nod in unison as he looks at us individually, then starts laughing.

“Silly Granny! Ollie isn’t my daddy; he’s my big brother.” Theo reveals with a dry laugh, slapping his knee like men used in slapstick comedy.

Wait…what?

All this time, I thought Surly Bastard was Theo’s father, but he’s his brother. That only fills me with more questions. Where are his parents? Why was he being raised by Oliver, and why was Oliver telling people that Theo was his son?

“And do you know where your brother went this weekend?” Gran asks, breaking the silence and ignoring the glare I give her because I specifically told her not to ask Theo such things. I know we were all curious, but asking a child things like this could have serious repercussions.

“Yeah. Some ladies need his help, so Ollie went to help the ladies.” Theo recites innocently, bringing the room to silence for a moment until Macy, too, can’t help himself.

“He travels regularly to help women?” she asks, wiggling her eyebrows when I feel the need to jump in and defend.

“It might not mean what you’re thinking; it could mean something else,” I suggest.

“Oh, I know exactly what he’s helping those women with,” Gran smirks as she and Macy burst into laughter.

I can’t find it in me to laugh along, but Theo does.

“You’re funny, Granny,” he laughs, a little longer before he says he goes to play more Mario Kart with LJ, leaving me to listen to the two of them come up with what kind of international booty Oliver might be getting right now, but me?

I’m trying hard not to judge, but if what they think is true, who the hell leaves their child and flies to different countries every two weeks just to have sex with women?

No, I can’t think like that, not until I get all the facts, but the true question was how I was supposed to act naturally when Oliver calls later, when this churning feeling is nagging me to try and check if there’s a woman in the background during his video call, unsettles me deeply.

Why did that make me feel some type of way to begin with?

When I slowly start to realise my attachment might not just be for one Walter brother, but two…
