Epilogue

LUNA

A Year Later:

I’m grateful for Oliver’s hand clamped over my mouth to muffle my scream of ecstasy. My legs tremble against him; the movement of his hips grows sloppy. I race to catch my breath, whilst he chases his own high before collapsing down onto my chest.

His warm breath tickles my skin. I reach up to stroke his hair, letting him know what a good job he did. Baby-making is no easy task, especially for my husband.

His high sex drive is nothing compared to mine from the moment I declared I was ready for another little one in the house.

But Oliver has been a trooper, no matter what distractions we had; from raising two children, working overtime at the community centre, which is thriving to the point we’ve started talking about it becoming a chain, and the endless amount of pro bono cases, Oliver is slowly making his way through - taking on less than half of the cases he used to.

We had a big but rushed last-minute wedding months after we got engaged; how we crammed that all into our already busy lives was such a blur, but we did.

And now we were on a surprise family holiday to Italy for three weeks for our first anniversary - Oliver’s doing as usual.

We could’ve gone just the two of us, but my husband knows this means so much more to me, to have our family here with us, and we still manage to find time together.

My man still finds time for us to be alone when my ovulating clock app goes off, even on holiday.

So, here we were in the early hours of the morning, heaving for breath and inhaling the summer heat as the air conditioner could only do so much.

The children were still fast asleep in the room next door, but we had to keep it down with Gran in the next room.

LJ, Macy is across the hall with their children next to them, and Oliver’s father, Mario, is in the room below us.

Of course, we could have opted to stay in a hotel, which would have given us more privacy.

But as a close-knit family, how could we refuse Mario’s offer, a very desperate attempt to make use of his six-bedroom house?

“You better be pregnant by the end of this trip.” Oliver teases in a huff, kissing my breasts, then holding his head up so we could look at each other. I laugh with my hand still tangled in his hair.

“You’re doing great, honey,” I say, leaning forward to peck his lips.

“I shouldn’t be this exhausted at thirty-five,” he sulks, resting his head back on my chest, his sigh filling the room when I feel his erection resurrect again on my thigh.

“Oh, I don’t know,” I coo, pulling my legs to wrap around his body. “Seems to me you have at least one more in you,” I smirk as he lifts his head, resting his hands on either side of my head, already aligning his hips with mine.

“Anything for you, il mio tutto,” he breathes, kissing the air I just recollected out of my lungs.

His hands slip into their place at the base of my thighs, and I focus on taking in the beautiful man above me, the way his curls stick to his forehead with sweat, the smile flashes across his face as he adjusts to slip himself back inside me, and lastly his enchanting brown eyes, locked onto my mine radiating with love.

Making me even more excited to start an even bigger family with a man who worked to give me two more earth-shattering orgasms. The kind that no vibrator could, although I do use it to take the edge off on the nights he’s away.

Oliver and I successfully do the deed and manage to slip our underwear back on before our children come bursting into the room and jump on the bed, begging for breakfast. Thankfully, Luigi barks his way up the stairs and wrangles the herd of children together, guiding them back down to the freshly made breakfast Mario and Gran must have been making.

The house now smells of freshly made pastries and other breakfast foods.

That gives us a peaceful twenty minutes for the other adults in the house to shower and get ready for the day, then we all make our way down in search of fresh tea and coffee.

We even get to eat breakfast in peace as Mario takes the children to play in the back garden.

“Ugh, why did we plan on having children so close together?” Macy whines, rubbing her stomach, lifting her swollen ankles onto her husband’s lap.

Referring to Leo and Milo playing with Theo and Mei in the garden, now going on the third child.

Macy is praying this last one is a girl, sick of being surrounded by boys.

“Because it’s easier, at least that’s what people say,” LJ replies, pushing his croissant crumbs away to massage her feet.

“Ah, right, well Oliver, hurry up and put a baby in my sister, so she can suffer through this with me,” Macy nudges, wiggling her eyebrows at Oliver, who’s leaning against the kitchen counter, sipping his favourite vomit coloured drink, then takes a chunk out of the fried dumplings Gran made this morning.

“I’m doing my best.” My hubby laughs in response, and to his defence, he really was. I keep my smile hidden behind my coffee-filled mug, reminiscing about the events of this morning.

“Believe me, we could hear.” Gran smirks, stands from her seat to tackle the dishes in the sink, judging by the look she extends from me to Oliver, okay…so maybe what was going on in our bedroom wasn’t so quiet after all.

“Yeah, way to go, champ; if you two keep it up, I’ll have a new niece or nephew to spoil by next year,” Macy chimes in, saluting Oliver, then grins widely at me, making my face turn bright red with embarrassment.

My husband, however, smiles with pride, not giving a damn who heard him pleasing his wife, and nudges Gran gently by the hip to take her seat and take over dish duty.

“C-can we please stop talking about this? I’m already trying very hard to forget I heard my baby sister having sex.” LJ winces, pausing his massage to shiver in discomfort.

“Oh, please.” I roll my eyes. “First of all, I’m not a baby anymore, and second, don’t think I won’t tell Gran about all the kinky stuff I heard living in the room next to you two after Leo was born,” I reveal, feeling odd being on the other side of this type of conversation - but weirdly I like it.

“LJ has Kinks??” Gran exclaims, needing more information; Macy bursts into laughter, Oliver smirks, and LJ turns white.

“I-I’m going for a walk,” he announces, gently resting Macy’s feet to rest on his chair and fleeing out of the room.

“I just knew he took something from me.” Gran nods in approval, making Macy laugh even harder, so hard I had to jump out of my seat to stop her from toppling over, as I too joined in the laughter. Oliver finishes off the dishes, then slips out of the kitchen to check on my brother.

He and LJ had grown closer over the last few years, and it was nice that LJ finally had another guy around after being surrounded by us women for so long.

It’s really helped him mentally too; he still freaks out when he’s uncomfortable, but he has been going to therapy less, and the stress of being a new parent was really put at ease once he had Oliver to turn to.

Our crazy, inappropriate family still wasn’t perfect, but our imperfection is my favourite part about us.

“Baby, we gotta go,” Oliver states, checking his watch, walking back into the room, when we women have climbed down from our laughter with LJ hiding behind him as if he needed protection from being the butt of the joke.

“Okay, Surly Bastard, I’m coming!” I tease, finishing off my coffee and pulling myself out of my chair. I glance up to see him smirk at the use of his nickname, which I only use when he’s getting on my nerves, as he turns towards the back garden to call our two balls of energy.

“Theo! Mei!” he yells, and it takes less than ten seconds for them to come running to his feet.

“Yes, Ollie?”

“Yes, Daddy?”

They say at the same time; it still made my ovaries twist the way Mei calls Oliver Daddy. Not only was it beyond cute, but cause it was something we had a few more years off before she slipped into her pre-teen phase.

Lord help Oliver when that time comes.

“We’re going to get Halmeoni and Min-Joon from the airport; do you want to come?” Oliver asks, giving them a choice; the two share a look, having a silent conversation between the two of them before they shake their heads in unison.

“Grandpa Mario is going to let all of us help paint Luigi’s new house!” Theo states, pointing at the doghouse at the back of the garden, but Luigi thinks he’s pointing to him, so he too comes running, standing on two legs, his two paws on Oliver’s thighs.

“We’re going to paint it green!” Mei adds with excitement and pets Luigi’s head as he jumps off Oliver to lean up and lick her cheek, making her giggle.

“Alright, be good for Grandpa. We’ll be back soon.” Oliver smiles, reaching down to kiss both of them on the head. He definitely has gotten much more affectionate once we all became a family, and it’s only made me fall in love with him all over again.

I ask Gran and Macy if they need anything while we’re out and choose to ignore Gran’s request for a grandchild as Oliver and I leave the house and climb into his car.

It takes about an hour and a bit to get to the airport, but Min-Joon and ??? don’t land for another 45 minutes, so we should make it in time.

I’m grateful for the cool air-con cancelling out the Italian heat.

“I’m a little nervous to meet eomani (mother-in-law) again.” I gaze out the window, and Oliver’s hand on my exposed thigh gives it a quick squeeze.

“Don’t be silly; she loves you more than she loves me; remember? She ordered me to book her a flight so she could fly over to help you plan our wedding.” Oliver laughs, shaking his head, making me laugh too.
