Chapter 11
MADDOX
This girl was driving me mad in so many ways.
I don’t like it when I have to tell people not to do stupid shit.
I could already tell that she was going to keep me busy.
Sometimes this job can get exhausting, but I had a feeling the intrigue was going to outweigh it.
She was very good at cutting through bullshit and demanding answers.
Watching her transformation was going to be fun.
I have met bossy women, but this one was different.
I think I might like it, a lot more than I should.
While she was gone from the table, my phone rang, and I answered immediately. “Tell me something.” Joslyn returned to the table, and I got up so that the conversation couldn’t be heard. I didn’t need her to get upset if there was no need.
“We aren’t entirely sure where they are taking her, but we do know that they are stopping in Alaska to refuel the plane.”
“Get a team to the compound and get the chopper in the air. Now!” I demanded through gritted teeth, trying to stay quiet. I hit the end button on the screen of my phone and returned to the table.
