22. Poe #3
Ava planted her hands on my stomach and arched her back, rocking her hips against Lycan, who shimmied on top of me, gripping my cock tighter.
The sight of the two of them on top of me, holding me down, jolted my heart and squeezed the air out of my lungs.
They were yin and yang. Him, silver hair and gray eyes and cold, brutal strength.
Her, dark and open and pliable vulnerability.
How would I have ever been able to resist?
How could I not end up right here, moaning underneath them, praying it never ended?
He fucked us like he owned us, like everything was his for the taking, and that never felt more true as I watched them seek their own pleasure on my body.
The atmosphere shifted, softly at first. Lycan wrapped his arms around Ava’s torso and lifted her up so her back was flush against his chest. He kissed down the column of her throat, palming her breasts while she closed her eyes and melted into the embrace.
She rested her head on his shoulder and moaned, digging her claws into my stomach.
There would be marks, but I didn’t care.
Lycan shifted his focus to me, his glowing eyes holding my gaze while his fangs extended from his jaw, gleaming in the low light.
He’s going to do it. He’s going to mark her right here on top of me.
It seemed appropriate. After all, my marking had been about her and the danger we’d survived. Why wouldn’t hers be about me, about sealing whatever strange connection burned between us?
I held my breath while I waited for him to do it, the anticipation of the bite mixing with the growing climax building in my soul. He’d mark her as his…ours…and embed his magic deep inside of her for the rest of our lives.
Do it. Do it now.
I willed the thoughts to him through our tether, shouting over the great divide between us. And that nascent echo vibrated with his response. He wanted to…Gods, he wanted to.
But I sensed that he wouldn’t. Not like this. He had bitten me in a fit of urgency, in a regrettable lack of restraint. He wouldn’t do that, not to her.
It should have made me jealous. It should have pissed me off that he’d treat her with a delicacy he’d never shown to me. Instead, it pleased me that he’d take such tender care of my mate, that he’d consider what was best for her when everything in him urged him otherwise.
Maybe that was what tipped me over the edge. Or maybe it was the way Ava cried out with ecstasy, her pouty lips forming that adorable O. Lycan grunted and rocked his pelvis harder, fucking her through it.
“That’s it,” he whispered. “Show me how well you take it. Show us how much you love this. You were made for us, weren’t you? Yes. Fuck, yes, pet.”
Her orgasm blasted through me and into Lycan, propelling my own.
I clenched and sobbed and spilled into him, and he tightened around me, his muscles spasming as he reached his own pinnacle.
Our bond burst open, rage and affection and exaltation scalding my senses.
Fucking either of them was an experience in itself, but together?
Like this? Release didn’t quite encapsulate it.
It was heaven. It was undiluted bliss. It was everything I never knew I always wanted.
My knot expanded, locking me inside Lycan, holding him to me. Ava collapsed on top of me, her cheek pressed against my racing heart.
“Wow, what a fucking ride,” Lycan whispered. “You both are incredible.”
I ghosted my fingers up and down her spine while she wrapped her arms under my back to hold me tighter.
“I never want this to end,” she said.
“Are you okay, Trouble?” Lycan asked. “Let me see your wound.”
“I’m fine,” she said.
Unconvinced, both Lycan and I inspected her side.
What had once been an angry cut had now dissipated to a bright purple line.
For a human, it would have taken weeks to heal like this.
But Ava had spent the day with her mate, with my magic pouring into her.
And whatever complicated mess Lycan had started by biting me must have added to that.
I’d never seen a silver infection fade so quickly.
“And you, Poe?” Lycan asked. “Have you forgiven me yet?”
Worse. I’m in love with you, you fucking Bastard.
I didn’t say it, but he must have heard it. He smirked and leaned down to kiss Ava’s shoulder before moving to my lips and giving me a chaste peck that contrasted with the deviant way he’d just defiled my body.
Yes, I’d forgiven him, and as I watched Ava drift off to sleep, I thought about that almost bite…
what it would mean if and when he ultimately did it.
After this, there could be no more denying what it was between us.
We both belonged to Lycan, and it would only be a matter of time before he made that ownership clear.
“I should have asked you,” Lycan whispered from the other side of my mate, his eyes glowing in the darkness. “At the hotel. I should have asked you first.”
“Yes, you should have.” I turned to face him.
“Would you have said yes?” His voice softened, almost like he was afraid of the answer.
I didn’t know. I’d already accepted the bond with Ava. I didn’t think a shifter could take on two bonds.
“Probably not,” I admitted. “But that doesn’t mean I regret it.”
He ran his fingers down my neck, tracing the marks, sending a shiver down my spine.
“Me neither,” he said.
