Chapter 10 Izzy
IZZY
A whole new world of pleasure had opened up for me as some deep craving for this man sighed with relief and release.
That was probably why I didn’t freak out when Myel bit me.
Honestly, it wasn’t that bad. After the initial shock and pinch of pain…
I didn’t feel much. In fact, it was kind of hot.
And with our bodies still locked together, my bliss spiked.
A second orgasm swept through me, the relaxing, soothing kind: like sinking into a warm bath, all my cares floating away.
And given how Myel hummed and groaned, it was good for him too. His cock pulsed with renewed vigor inside me.
And that’s when it hit me: he wasn’t wearing a condom.
Fuck!
It was a testament to how good I felt that I didn’t immediately freak out and push Myel away. It was a slower reaction, a squirming in my gut which grew as my pleasure ebbed. It wasn’t like stopping Myel now would help, the damage was done.
“Ah… Myel?” I said, when I started feeling a bit… drained.
Hearing his name seemed to startle him and he drew back, covering his mouth with shock and shame. “S-sorry,” he whispered. “I shouldn’t have. I’m so sorry!”
I wasn’t sure why him biting me didn’t seem to bother me as much as unprotected sex. However, since we were on the topic of dubious consent, “I’m hoping you’re clean and snipped?” I gave an awkward smile as I gazed down at us.
Curiously, he laughed at that, a tense thing.
“I am,” he said as he let me down and we slowly disengaged. “Sort of.”
Sort of?
That wasn’t good enough. I was about to ask, when he held up a hand. “I said I’d explain everything and I will, but we should probably get dressed, in case anyone wanders by.” He seemed quite intent on this, starting to dress immediately. He almost looked afraid.
I pulled on my sweatpants, then the cami. It hit me only then that I was trapped in this world with only what I was wearing, which didn’t even include underwear.
I’d need some new clothes… soon.
This whole situation was messed up. Though, I was so blissed out and chill after that stunning orgasm that I didn’t really care.
“So…?” I said, leaning back against the tree.
“I know you have a lot of questions. Let me start with… what we just did.”
I still couldn’t quite believe I’d done that, given how wild and unprotected we’d been. I raised a brow as he continued.
He sighed heavily.
“For whatever reason, fate’s played a cruel trick on us. A bond has formed between us, which will draw us together again and again.”
I had so many questions, but I waited for him to finish.
“That’s why you probably feel comfortable around me, accepting.” Were others not accepting? “And it will make us want to… have sex… a lot. Sorry.”
He didn’t have to apologise. The sex part had been spectacular. It had even soothed my aching body, the rush of blissful chemicals still surging through me. I didn’t have a clue what was happening, but at least I felt good about it.
Confused but good.
“But you can’t tell anyone about us or the bond,” he added.
Wait, what? Sorry?
I opened my mouth to ask why, but he rushed on.
“What we just did is illegal,” he hissed.
You know the blue screen of death on a computer? That’s what my brain did.
Error 404 – brain not responding.
My mouth hung open and I sighed out a long, “Ahhhhhhhh?”
Myel sighed. “Sorry I know this is a lot.”
No shit!
“Maybe I should start at the beginning?”
Yes please.
“The quick version is: here in the fae realm the elves run everything and they like order, everything in its place. That includes people. Mating outside your species is generally forbidden, those who do get exiled. Some dalliances outside your own kind are permitted for some races, as long as both parties are protected. But for low caste folk like me, any relations with another species is punishable by death. That goes double for us shifters. Elves don’t really care for us. ”
“Shifter?” I’d read enough romance novels to be familiar with the term.
Did that mean Myel was a werewolf? After he’d bitten me, I’d thought he was a vampire. Maybe he was? Maybe werewolves bit people too? I think I’d read that once.
Mostly what I got out of what he’d said was: shifters are real, and elves are controlling douchbags. Turned out this world was just as messed up as the one I’d come from.
“I’m a chiroptanthrope.”
“Kyroptin-what-now?” I tried to sound out the word he’d said.
“Bat shifter.”
Oh. Yeah, of course. Myel was a bat shifter… sure. He could turn into a bat. Yup, that was normal. No wonder I got a strong vampire vibe off him.
“And you need blood?”
“I’ll come to that.”
I had enough to process, so I could wait a bit for that detail. Though something from way back at the beginning of this conversation had caught in my mind so I had to ask,
“This bond thing, it’s… safe?”
“As long as we continue to satisfy it, yes. If we’re apart for too long, we’ll both get irritable and go a little nuts. The more we… give in… to the bond, the less it will hold sway over us.”
“And by give in, you mean—?”
“Sex, lots of sex. Like what just happened. We may be able to stave it off just by being close to each other, but eventually, we’ll need to have sex. Sorry.”
There he went apologizing again.
“Is this your fault?” I asked. “Did you cause the bond to happen?”
“Nope, all fate.”
“Then don’t apologize.”
He gave a heavy sigh and leaned against the tree next to me. His shoulder brushed mine and it felt… good, comfortable, like he belonged next to me. He slipped his hand into mine, fingers interlaced. A soothing contact. His hand should be there, needed to be there.
He’d said this bond thing would make me comfortable around him. At least now I knew why I felt so serene and euphoric when he was near.
I wasn’t even too worried about the whole unprotected sex thing. He’d said he was safe, and I believed him. I trusted him. And that was huge for me; I didn’t trust anyone, especially men. It must be the bond.
“I’m glad you understand.”
“Understand, yes. Am I happy about having my choices taken away from me? Not really. Though when I’m near you, I don’t really care so much. We’ll see if I freak out later.”
“You can still… be with others,” Myel said softly. “That won’t affect the bond.”
Oh?
“And… perhaps you should appear to be with others.” That was very liberal of him. “If only to hide our relationship,” he rushed to add. He didn’t sound happy about it.
When I looked over, his eyes were shadowed. He didn’t want me to be with others, but he knew it would keep us safe.
Poor man.
“Who… can I be with?” I asked, since I didn’t even know what sort of being I was. Until this morning I’d thought I was human. Though… given what I’d been noticing about my eyes and ears and hair… being something else made sense.
“Other nymphs.”
“Nymph? I’m a nymph?”
“Yeah, we’ll get to that. But just to continue the previous point, you could probably be seen with most races of your caste, you just can’t mate outside your species, and it wouldn’t be good to be seen with anyone of a higher caste or lower caste.”
“Like you?”
“Exactly.”
Wow… what a world. This place may be beautiful and mystical, but it was far from idyllic.
I could almost feel how unsettled Myel was. A strange knowing tightness in my chest. This bond thing seemed to be forming quickly. Perhaps sex had made it stronger?
“You mentioned being protected?”
“Yeah. You can get a contraceptive binding. Keeps you from having kids. Most people have them. They can be removed once you’re in an approved relationship.”
Approved relationship, that sounded so fucking wrong.
“This binding, that’s what you have?”
He nodded.
Well at least we were good on that front. I should probably get one of those too.
So much to do.
“As for the bite,” Myel whispered, guilt lacing his voice. “I… couldn’t help myself.” After long shuddering breath, he went on, “I have a disease. Not all chiroptanthropes need blood to survive, most drain fruits for their nectar. But…”
“You need blood,” I finished. Hence… vampire.
“Yeah.”
“Anyone’s blood?”
“Ah… well…” He let out a pained sound.
What now?
“Just say it.”
“I’m not certain, but… now that we’re bonded, I have a strong suspicion I’ll need your blood specifically. You tasted… delicious beyond anything I’ve ever known, heavenly. I get the feeling any other blood will taste like shit now.”
Great.
One more thing I’d just have to accept.
“So, just to get this all straight… we’re magically bound, which means we automatically like each other and feel comfortable with each other and will need to fuck like bunnies, but we can’t be seen together because elves are domineering assholes.
Also, there’s a different sort of magical binding which can keep me from popping out babies.
And finally, you need to drink my blood because this world needs even more ways to screw with me. Sound right?”
He gave a laughing sigh. “Yup. Sorry.”
“None of this is your fault.”
“Right. Sor— uh… yeah.”
I laughed as well, even if it was an exhausted thing.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find a way to make this work.” I shrugged. It wasn’t like we had a choice, and I was practical if nothing else.
He sighed, relieved and smiled. “Thanks, Izzy.”
I leaned into him a bit more, resting my head on his shoulder. He softly kissed my hair. I wasn’t one for snuggling, but with Myel, everything felt right. Again, there’d probably be freaking out later, but for now, I lumped that in with everything else I was being forced to accept.
Now, onto the next thing.
“Tell me more about… nymphs.”
