I bought a Scottish castle online at auction.

I’m a courageous property flipper.

Apparently, I forgot to check whether it came with a gorgeous man who refuses to leave.

In my defense, the vacant Glenhaven Castle looked like the property of a lifetime.

Yes, I bought it at a crazy low price without seeing it first. Yes, it probably needs lots of renovations. And yes, my Labrador and I arrive in the Scottish Highlands only to discover one rather significant problem.

Lord Tristan Sinclair ... the laird of Glenhaven. He lives in my castle. He insists there’s been a terrible mistake. He never sold it and he has absolutely no intention of moving out.

Then there are the other things. He doesn’t eat much. He drinks an unusual amount of very dark red wine. He doesn’t seem to sleep much. Certain rooms are locked. The villagers become strangely quiet whenever I ask questions about him.

The problem is, the longer I stay at Glenhaven Castle, the more certain I become that Tristan isn’t the only one keeping secrets. He has enemies.

Something is definitely hidden beneath this castle. Someone wanted me here. And whatever I’ve stumbled into has been waiting a very long time.

I came to Scotland to renovate a castle, sell it for a ridiculous profit, and move on to my next adventure. That’s what I do.

But for the first time in my life, I’m beginning to wonder if there are some things you don’t sell.

And some men you don’t leave.
