Chapter 21 #2

“Oh, I wasn’t talking about the food.” He grins. “You can get whatever you want in any other way.” He leans forward, and he whispers in my ear, “You can have any part of me to eat, to taste, to do whatever you want with.”

I feel my face burning. This time, Sandra and Parker both look at us suspiciously.

“Sorry about that. Dalton was saying that something came up at work. Will you excuse us for a second? We need to discuss the schedule for later in the week, and I don’t want us to be rude and do this in front of you.

” I grab Dalton’s hand. “Can we speak for a second about the schedule? Maybe toward the back. That way, we’re not being rude to Parker and Sandra. ”

“Of course.” He grins.

We slide out of the table and head down toward the back of the restaurant, near the restrooms.

“What on earth do you think you’re doing, Dalton? I cannot believe you showed up here,” I hiss at him.

He looks at me innocently. “I already told you, I thought you invited me and a date.”

“Give it a rest. I already know I did not invite you on a double date, and any normal person would know they shouldn’t show up for a double date when someone’s on a first date. So, what’s going on?”

“Maybe I just wanted to make sure that the date went well. I just had a bad feeling about this dude.”

“Okay. Then why were you touching my leg?”

“The same reason you were touching mine. Because I can’t keep my hands off you.” He runs his fingers down the side of my face and gently rubs my upper lip with his thumb. “You look stunning when you’re angry.”

“Dalton, you cannot do that. Anyone can see.”

“Can see what?” he asks.

A waiter walks past at that moment, and I grab Dalton’s hand and push open the door behind me, pull him in, and then lock the door. It’s a restroom, but I don’t care.

“Dalton, you are getting close to crossing a line.”

“Crossing what line?” he asks and takes a step toward me.

“Crossing a line that we cannot come back from. Like, it was all fun and games, but this is—”

“What?”

“We cannot do this. I’m on a date. You’re on a date. You can’t touch me. I can’t touch you. We’re not on a date together.” I’m rambling and trying to catch my breath.

“Maybe we should be,” he says.

He grabs me around the waist and pulls me toward him. I press my hands against his chest to steady myself. He reaches down and kisses my neck. I close my eyes and breathe in his scent. I love the way he touches me. I love the way he feels against me, and yet I know I’m being absolutely awful.

“Dalton,” I breathe out his name. My eyes fly open, and his lips are dangerously close to mine.

“Yes, darling Sage?”

“Don’t call me that.”

“Or what?”

“Or I’ll—”

“You’ll what, kiss me again?”

This time, he grabs my face, and he presses his lips against mine.

I can’t stop myself from kissing him back.

His fingers sift through my hair, and I reach up and play with the fine hairs at the base of his neck.

He presses me up against the wall, and I moan as his fingers slide up under my dress and squeeze my ass.

His hands move up across my breasts and rub against them gently.

I know I shouldn’t be doing this, but I can’t stop myself.

I pull his shirt out of his trousers and touch his warm stomach.

He groans and pulls away, his eyes wild as he looks down at me.

“I don’t suppose I can convince you to leave this date right here, right now?”

“What are you talking about?” I ask, my heart racing.

“I mean it. What if I ask you to leave this date and we go somewhere, you and me?”

“I can’t do that, Dalton.”

“You can. You just don’t want to.”

“I am here with Parker.”

“And what do I care about that?” he says as he slides one of the straps of my dress down my arm.

“What are you doing?”

“This,” he says. He kisses my shoulder to my collarbone and then up my neck and toward my lips again. “I just want to keep doing this all night.”

“Well, you can’t,” I say as I push him back. “We can’t be doing any of this.”

“Pity,” he says. He exhales a deep sigh, and he tucks his shirt back into his pants. “I suppose I need to be a good boy so you can enjoy your date.”

“Yes, you do.” I pull my strap up and gently run my palms down the front of my dress.

“So, what about if I want to take you to dinner tomorrow?” he asks, softer. His eyes search mine.

“I don’t know,” I say. “Before we arranged this date, Parker asked me if I wanted to go to the beach tomorrow, and I told him I’d tell him yes or no, depending on how this date went.”

“Well, obviously, this date went shitty.” He grins. “You’re in the restroom, making out with me.”

“Dalton,” I admonish him.

“What? We can go and tell him right now. If you’d rather, I can go and tell him right now, and he can leave, and then we can go.”

“No, that’s so rude. I can’t do that.”

“Okay, fine,” he says, and he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me toward him again.

“You can just pretend like you’re not pressed up against me right now.

You can pretend this doesn’t feel good.” He rubs his finger against my bottom lip.

“You can pretend you don’t want me to slip my fingers into your panties and feel how wet you are. ”

“I’m not wet,” I lie.

He chuckles. “You want to bet?”

“Dalton.” I glare at him as he lifts my skirt up, but I don’t stop him.

“I just want to see something,” he says as he runs his fingers lightly between my legs and touches the thinness of my damp panties.

He grins, and I moan, holding on to his shoulders as he rubs me gently. My legs shudder beneath me. He slips a finger inside my panties and rubs my clit a few times. When he pulls his finger out, my eyes fly open. I am barely breathing.

“You shouldn’t have done that.”

“I just wanted to see if you were lying or not.” Then he licks his lips and sucks his finger. “But now I know the ma?tre d’ wasn’t lying.”

I blink at him in confusion. “What are you talking about?”

“They definitely have the best beverages in this restaurant. Only the beverage I want isn’t on the menu.

” He whispers in my ear, “I want to eat you so badly. I want to lick you so badly. I want to taste you so badly. But I can wait, Sage. Know I’m a patient man, and when you’re ready”—he steps back and smiles at me—“I’ll be all yours. ”

“Who says I’ll ever be ready?” I stalk toward him and go to grab the door handle.

He pulls me toward him and kisses me again; this time, he lifts me up, and I wrap my legs around his waist. He pushes me back into the wall and teases me again with his lips while lightly grinding into me so that I can feel his hardness.

He slips his hand down, rubs me gently across my mound, and I almost cry out at how good it feels.

“You don’t think you’ll ever be ready?” He raises an eyebrow in question as he slips my panties to the side and rubs his fingers urgently against me.

My eyes roll back in my head as the feelings of pleasure ripple through me, and I moan loudly.

“Hey, anyone in there?” A loud banging on the door makes us stop, and I gasp in shock, suddenly remembering where I am.

“I’ll be done in a minute,” Dalton calls out. He gives me one last kiss. “Do you want me to let you finish before you go back to the table?”

“Finish?” I push him away and slide back down to the ground.

I pretend I don’t know what he’s talking about.

Like I wasn’t close to having an orgasm.

“I think I need to finish placing my order.” I touch my hair to fix any damage from his roaming hands.

“You need to go first, and I’ll come right out. ”

He strides out of the restroom, and I stand there, gasping for air. I catch sight of myself in the mirror and don’t recognize the girl standing there with the flushed face.

I’m definitely in over my head, and I have no idea what to do. I have no idea how I’m going to go back to the table and deal with Parker because all I really want is Dalton. There’s no way that I’m going to let him know that.

I count to twenty and then walk back to the table. Parker is busy chatting with Sandra about something, and I’m grateful he’s not looking at me as I slide into my seat.

“There you are.” Dalton smiles innocently. “I wondered if you were finishing off your—”

“Dalton—”

My heart races as I think about where his fingers just were. I can’t believe I’m in this situation.

I turn to face Parker, who has a smirk on his face, which is surprising.

“I’m willing to bet that this will be the best meal you’ve ever had in your life.” Parker grins at me and then at Dalton, and Dalton nods knowingly.

“I dare say you’re right. The appetizer was already fairly scrumptious.”
