Chapter 35
Riley
“That one,” I say. “I don’t see the special lock on the outside.”
Corrine nods, it’s almost too loud to talk in here. But she follows me through the door into the room. It’s dark in here too, aside from spotlights on a huge round bed in the center of the room. It looks like a mass of bodies are combined and on full display to the spectators in the room. I pull Corrine to one of the couches meant for viewing and try to acclimate to the room.
The speakers are playing a sultry song and I see two women on the bed, both being fucked by two men but the whole thing doesn’t feel derogatory or anything, it feels… hot.
I realize I’m absolutely staring and I giggle to Corrine, “I see why you like these places.”
She nods and continues watching the show. I notice someone walking over to us and I adjust the mask on my face. I keep adjusting it, it was the one part of the outfit that made me feel secure about being in this kind of club. No one knew who I was .
“Ladies.” The man standing near our couch is tall, and though his face is half covered by what looks to be some type of animal mask, I notice his features seem familiar.
I look at him more closely as he leans in towards my sister and me. “Care to have some company?” he asks and I practically gasp.
“Xavier?” I spit out. I may be drunk but I recognize that voice.
“Riley?!” he asks, and then wedges himself between Corrine and I without invitation. “I’m thrilled to see you here,” he says to me, though his dazzling smile and focus are on my sister.
“And will you be introducing me to your friend Riley?” he asks seductively. Jesus he comes on fast, I think.
“Corrine, this is Xavier Delacruz,” I say. "He’s one of the partners at the law firm.
“Corrine,” she says, extending her hand. “Lovely to meet you. I’ve heard a lot about how gorgeous the people in Bolt Corp are, but I didn’t believe my sister,” she says. “Now I see what she meant.”
I practically roll my eyes. Oh lord, if these two start up something in front of me I will not handle it well.
“Are you by yourself Xavier?” I ask.
“No, Sebastian is over there,” he nods to the couch across from us. “And the twins are upstairs. I think Sebastian will be very excited to see you,” he says, finally looking at me while he speaks.
“I’m not so sure about that,” I say. “I’m not his favorite person lately.”
“Well,” Xavier starts, “maybe you can go over there and make it up to him.” He winks and nods toward the couch. “Maybe your sister won’t mind keeping me company on that couch over there?” he asks, pointing to where he just came from.
“Hmmm,” I say in return, grabbing my martini and slamming it before I stand. “You agree, Corrine?”
She nods then says “I’m wonderful. You go take care of business.” The two walk away, close enough to touch each other.
I look towards who I now know to be Sebastian and notice his hand gesturing for me to come join him.
