Chapter 40

Sebastian

It’s 11:00 AM Monday and I’ve stormed through our office at least ten times this morning. At this point every intern and assistant on my floor is staring at me like I’ve grown two heads.

“Where the fuck is my intern?!?” I bellow at one of the assistants as she hands me a coffee. She cringes away and looks around wildly at the other assistants. Another one hands me a folder full of case files and stutters “She, she text saying she was sick.”

“Are you fucking kidding me?” I rage.

A hand drops down on my shoulder, squeezing, and I turn, shrugging it off. I’m ready to flatten the prick who dares lay a hand on me. Thankfully I catch myself before pummeling Jonathan’s pretty face.

“Why don’t you ladies go bring the guys more coffee in the meeting lounge?” Jonathan says while steering me back towards my office. He closes the door behind us while I plant myself in my chair.

“What is your deal Sebastian? You’re scaring all of the assistants today! I couldn’t even get the little redhead to suck my dick properly this morning. She kept pulling off asking me if I was sure you weren’t going to waltz in my office screaming.”

I just stare at him. He leans back against the door, crossing his arms and waiting for my response.

“Riley called out sick today” I grit. Jonathan bursts out laughing.

“You can leave now,” I say, visibly fuming.

“You mean to tell me your intern calling out sick is the reason you have been a raging lunatic all morning?” Jonathan asks before he’s cut off by a knock at my office door.

He opens the door and Kaz is standing there.

“Hey Kaz, anything I can do for you?” Jonathan purrs, showing off his dazzling smile.

Kaz’s body completely stiffens and she ignores him.

“I’ll come back later” she says to me before turning and walking away

Jonathan’s smile drops and now it’s my turn to laugh.

He glares at me and proceeds to leave my office.

“Guess I won’t be the only one with whiskey in my coffee this morning!” I call out to him before the office door slams shut.

The rest of Monday is a blur.
