Chapter 68
Sebastian
“They used her as what!?!?” I scream at Andre from the front seat while Xavier whips in and out of traffic, heading for Riley’s last known location.
Andre doesn’t respond but turns his cell on speaker, leaving me to catch the tail end of his brother's conversation.
“…didn’t see him enter the building. Yes we used her as bait but I swear we had the entire perimeter covered. We have no idea how he got in there but he’s being followed as we speak and both Riley and Kaz left safely.” Antonio says.
“I’m going to fucking kill you guys if one hair on Riley’s head is amiss” I growl. “You better catch that asshole and I want him fucking alive.”
Antonio chuckles through the speaker. “I knew you wouldn’t want him any other way Sebastian. I’ll be in touch.” Without another word he ends the call.
I blow out another breath while trying to call Riley again. If she’s ok, why isn’t she answering her damn phone? I’m typing out another message to her when Kaz's name pops up on my screen.
“Where the fuck is Riley?” I answer.
“I’m ok Sebastian, thanks for asking,” Kaz responds sarcastically before handing her phone to Riley.
“Sebastian, I’m sorry…” she starts to say but I cut her off.
“Are you ok little mouse? Did he hurt you? I’ll fucking murder that asshole when I get my hands on him”
I hear her blow a breath out over the phone. I can tell she’s still shaken. Nate must have really done a number on her again. I hope this doesn’t set her back in her therapy, she’s come so far already.
“I’m fine, he didn’t get a chance to hurt me. Thankfully I was able to escape. He snuck up on me in the bathroom. I think…I think he was going to drug me again. I was so scared. He didn’t look like himself, Sebastian.”
My shoulders relax “Head straight to the apartment Riley, no pit stops. I’ll meet you guys there.” I say and hang up.
“Are they okay brother?” Xavier asks me before flipping a u-turn and heading back towards my apartment.
“Yes, apparently that fucker tried to drug her again in the bathroom.” I respond. “Thankfully she got away.”
“Something still isn’t adding up with this Nate and Lockhart situation.” Andre states from the backseat. “Why is Nate trying to drug and kidnap his own wife all of the sudden? I mean he had her for years so what’s changed?”
“Fuck if I know. We have been trying to figure it out for months.” I say while going over everything in my head.
We are pulling in to park when Andre’s phone rings. He answers it quickly, pressing the speaker button. “Antonio, that was fast.”
“He made it easy. He tried following the girls right afterwards. He was on the phone with someone and it sounded like it was getting heated. Alexander tried to grab his phone but the little asshole smashed the entire screen with his foot before we could stop him. Tell Sebastian he can utilize the vault tonight as a little gift to make up for the complications this job encountered. I’ll send a code over to his phone.” Antonio says before hanging up.
“What the fuck is the vault?” I ask looking over at Xavier. He smirks like an idiot but doesn’t say anything.
“It’s a special place our family has used for decades to take care of our problems. Everything will be set up and ready when you get there, including Nate. No clean up will be necessary and you will not be bothered. Text Antonio when you are finished.” Andre responds.
Well that is vague but I won’t complain. I wanted Nate alive so I can take care of him myself…but I have an even better idea.
