Chapter 13 #2

Looking at them is such a turn-on that I need to remind myself that I’m mad at Rafael.

I’m here to mess with him, not drool over him.

Somehow now that I’ve laid my eyes on Santiago, the fear feels laughable.

I’ve nothing to fear from him. Maybe. Probably nothing.

Even if I do, the urge to sneak behind him and nick his earlobe with my fangs overrides that sensible warning.

“Well, well, well… What do we have here?” My voice floats into the room.

“Rafael, you didn’t tell me we were expecting company.

” I smile sweetly at them as they swing their heads my way.

Disbelief crashes over Rafael’s face when he takes in my attire, but I ignore him.

“If I had known, I would have dressed more… appropriately.” I wink at Santiago.

“Samantha, get back to your room,” Rafael snaps.

“Don’t you mean your room?” I counter with an overly sugary tone.

“Samantha—”

“Rafael,” I interrupt his growling and then once again face Santiago. “He left me all alone and bored. I’m betting you wouldn’t be such a callous bed partner.”

Santiago’s eyes widen and turn a deeper green. I first thought they were gray, but now the green is clearly visible and damn, his eyes are beautiful.

“Rafael, aren’t you going to introduce me to this delightful creature?” Santiago keeps his gaze on mine and when I lick my lips, his smile widens.

“No,” Rafael grouses, the jealousy strong in his voice.

“I’m Samantha, Rafael’s latest complication,” I say and flash my fangs at Santiago.

“A complication?” Santiago laughs and takes a step toward me. Rafael’s arm snaps out and jerks him to a stop.

“Samantha, for the love of god—”

“I’m not loving God at the moment.” I glare at Rafael. “He’s a jerk, just like you.”

This time, Rafael isn’t fast enough to stop Santiago, who flashes to stand in front of me. I can feel the power rolling off him, but he doesn’t touch me. “Santiago Wacerra, at your service.”

“I might just take you up on that offer,” I say and Rafael growls. “What?” I glare at him. “You said I can have more orgasms. I just don’t want them from you.”

Santiago chokes back another bout of laughter and turns to look at Rafael. “What did you do to piss her off this bad?”

“Turned her,” Rafael replies and Santiago sobers up.

“You did what?”

“I turned her.”

“She’s… new?”

“Up for less than two days.”

“How is this possible?” He waves his hand at me and I get annoyed.

“I’m right here,” I snap at both of them.

“I have no idea. That was one of things I was going to figure out before you showed up.”

“Two days,” Santiago mutters, lost in thought.

My temper snaps and I turn on my heel and throw my hands up, not thinking how much it would lift the hem, but based on the growls at my back, it lifted enough.

“I’ll go play by myself, since neither of you is any fun!

” With some dramatic flair, I spin away and stomp off.

I refuse to head back to Rafael’s room. In fact, I don’t want to be in this house a moment longer.

A wave of dizziness hits me just as I reach the door and instead of opening it, I crash through it.

Shaking my head, I look around at what looks to be some kind of security room, just as both men sweep in behind me.

“Samantha, are you all right?” Rafael questions me as he runs his hands over my arms and legs.

“Yes, stop touching me.” I try to push him away.

“How… what…” Santiago stutters and I glare at him. “She went through a door. I didn’t even see the door.”

“Of course you didn’t. It’s protected. Security. And of course she smashed through it like every other door in her way.” Once again, Rafael sounds furious and he shakes me. “You need to learn to use door handles, Samantha,” he growls and I growl right back at him.

“Knock it off, asshole. I got dizzy. Not my fault that the doors in this place are made of paper.”

Rafael sweeps me into his arms and turns to go. Somewhere along the way, the shirt has torn open and Santiago’s eyes drop to my breasts.

“You can still come play with me in the bedroom, but you have to make up for ignoring me like an asshole earlier,” I inform him and his eyes flare wide. Rafael jostles me in his arms and I’ve had it. I’m horny and angry and hungry, so I turn my head and sink my fangs into his neck.

Rafael crashes into Santiago when his knees give way and when his blood hits my system and I forget everything else. After the first gulp, I realize that I’m not starving anymore, so I slow down to sips and Rafael moans.

Santiago’s heavy breathing coasts across my neck and breast when he helps Rafael to straighten up.

Both of their hands are holding me and I give a little shimmy to get some friction.

Slowing down my drinking even more, I add a small lick between my sips.

Rafael’s skin tastes almost as good as his blood.

“Samantha,” Rafael moans. In response, I bite down harder and he almost collapses again.

“Now I see the two days.” Santiago chuckles.

“Samantha, no,” Rafael manages to say when I pull my fangs from him and turn to Santiago. I stare at his neck and lick my lips but hold back from biting him. I’m not hungry anymore and most of my anger has drained away too. I’m incredibly horny, though, and Santiago smells so sweet.

“Sweetheart,” Rafael mumbles and kisses my cheek. “No biting strangers. It’s rude and in most cases dangerous.”

“But he’s not really a stranger, is he?” I ask and lick my throbbing fang.

“If we take this to the bedroom, she can bite me all she likes,” Santiago says with a devilish smile.

“Not helping,” Rafael grouses.

“He smells like lemon-meringue pie. I loooove lemon-meringue pie,” I purr and lift my eyes to meet Santiago’s.

“Samantha,” Rafael says, sounding exasperated and jealous at once.

“Don’t worry, you smell like chocolate cake. I like chocolate cake too,” I say and pat his hand.

Santiago laughs, a deep rumble that lights up his face and changes the air around him. Even Rafael chuckles along and I smile widely.

“So…” I reach my hand and tap a finger at Santiago’s neck. “Can I get a taste?” I ask him and he smiles down at me. Before he has time to reply, I turn to Rafael and pull on a serious expression. “See, I asked politely.”

“I’m willing,” Santiago says and in a flash, I turn back to him and snag his hand. I pull his finger into my mouth and suck, scraping my fangs along. His skin tastes just as sweet as he smells, but some internal warning stops me from breaking his skin.

I try to sort my feelings to pinpoint what feels wrong.

I don’t have any issues thinking about sex with him, or more like sex with him and Rafael.

Annoyingly, he’s there in my every thought.

Touching Santiago and having him touch me feels right and I have a weird urge to pierce my skin, to offer him a sip.

But now, when his finger is on my mouth, a wall slams up when I think about sinking my fangs deeper.

The idea of his blood unsettles my stomach and a faint hint of pain throbs at the back of my head.

It’s the same feeling as when I tasted my own blood, or when I drank from that bag, but far fainter. Almost like an echo or memory.

A warning.

Frustrated, I let his finger go at once and turn to sink my fangs into Rafael.

His pectoral still has my previous marks and now I sink my fangs just above them, not even really drinking.

There’s a part of me that wants to punish him and another part that is pissed off that I can only have his blood.

When that thought surfaces, it clicks, echoing with truth. I fist my hand and smack him, hard.

Bastard.

He’s literally ruined me for other blood.
