“Pussy was easy. Pussy was everywhere. Fucking wasn’t a thing, but a need—but making love? Making love was a privilege and could only be experienced with the right connection—the right woman: Eris.” –Love No Limit, MJ Stone

“Do you want to have one last drink before we say goodbye?”

“I’d better not. I have an early morning, and it’s late—or early,” I declared, glancing at the Rolex on my arm.

“How about coffee?” she suggested.

I smiled because I realized that this wasn’t about drinking. Like me, she wasn’t ready for our connection to end. She wanted more time with me as badly as I felt I needed it with her. There was something about this girl that pulled me in.

“I can have a coffee or two,” I replied as she slid her card against the reader.

“Cool, I—” Her words were cut off by the loud moaning of someone having sex.

I smirked at her as she rolled her eyes. “Sounds like someone is enjoying themselves.”

“Leave it to Mone to get it in whenever she can. We’re so opposite. I’m sorry you wasted your time walking me up here.”

“Never a waste. I’ve enjoyed our time and conversation.”

“I’m going back down to the bar and give her time to finish.”

“Or you could come to my room. I promise nothing but drinks and good conversation. No harm, no pressure.”

She smiled and asked, “Are you sure?”

“Hell yeah.”

I took her hand and led her to the elevator. We rode in silence two floors up before we entered my suite.

“This is nice,” she stated, looking around.

“Thank you. I like traveling in style and having a luxurious experience. Make yourself comfortable,” I instructed as I picked up the phone to dial for room service.

I poured champagne for us after I ordered strawberries, the hotel’s deluxe chocolate, and ice cream sundaes.

“I thought you said you didn’t need another drink because you have an early morning.”

“I do, but champagne don’t count.”

“Oh, really?” she asked, giggling as she took a sip.

“Promise you that it doesn’t. It’s not the hard stuff.”

“Hard stuff. What do you drink?”

“I’m a bourbon man. I’ll drink a good beer every now and then, depending on the occasion, but that’s what I prefer.”

“Do you drink every day?”

“Nah. I usually drink water, juices, and teas. I have a few top-shelf brands like Elijah Craig and Knob Creek that are my faves when I do drink, though. Nothing compares to Sexton’s Golden Classic”

She whistled. “That’s expensive. You like it like that?”

“Listen, if I do something, I go all the way in. There’s no half-stepping with me. So, if I’m gonna get the good shit, I get the really good shit.”

“Wow. You sound passionate about it.”

“I’m passionate and sincere about whatever or whomever I become involved with.”

“Whomever?”

“That’s right. As passionate as I am about my liquor, I’m even more so about my woman.”

“Are you clear with a woman about where she stands with you when she’s in your life, or are you one of those guys who are like ‘Feelings? What’re feelings?’”

“I’ve no problems showing my feelings with ease and clarity. The last thing I want to do is mislead a woman or create a misunderstanding. I’m in touch with my feelings, and I don’t play games with my emotions or anyone else’s.”

“That’s good. On the other hand, there’s me who was told that I could be blunt to the point of being rude.

It took a long time for me to learn to express myself in a tolerant way and that is socially acceptable, but still honest. I had a bad habit of doing word vomit, but owning my own business, I had to train myself to do better.

I’m still not sure that I’m good about it in relationships. ”

“Are you hard to deal with in a relationship?”

“I don’t think I am. I can be fun and playful, but I need a partner willing to be the same. I just haven’t really had a long-term sustainable relationship. Sometimes, people think there’s something wrong with me; I just don’t think I’ve found the person for me.”

“You don’t think? I’m sure that when you do, you’ll know. There will be no doubt about it, beautiful.”

“Have you ever been in love?

“I have.”

“What was that like for you?”

I laughed. “Fun, deep, passionate. My primary nature is dominant, so I take the leadership role and take the initiative to get things done.”

“Reliable.”

“Definitely that. I’m loyal to my family and friends, protective, and I’ll do anything for those who matter to me.

There are no limits that I won’t go to make sure they have what they need.

Because of that, my woman has to be self-aware and reasonable.

If she’s not, I’ll have to work extra hard to protect her. ”

“Why?”

“Because I’m afraid that she might get burned by too much light from my sun, and I never want that for any woman in my life. She has to be free to express and stand up for herself.”

“In other words, you need a strong woman.”

“Exactly.”

“What about sex for you?”

“What about it?”

“Do you find yourself connecting with your partner through sex? Do you have to be emotionally involved with someone to have sex with them?”

“Nah, I don’t confuse sex and love. They are two distinctly separate things.

A man can bust a nut and not wanna be around that woman later, and then he can build a connection with a woman that surpasses everything else in this world.

When he cares enough, he’ll take deliberate steps to build a connection with a woman who he’s intimately involved with.

I prefer a deep spiritual and emotional connection, but that doesn’t always exist. What about you? ” I ran a hand over her knee.

“I need someone who can stimulate all my senses, not just the physical ones. They have to stimulate me intellectually, as well. I know that I’m a gentle girl, but I can also be firm and specific about my thoughts and feelings.

I’m not the girl that a man is just going to run over.

Unfortunately, because I always expect the best from people, I receive a lot of disappointment, and I haven’t found my happy ending yet.

I’ve had a series of unfulfilling relationships with no depth; they didn’t even make my heart go pitter-patter.

Now I’ve given up hope that it will ever happen,” she explained as she kicked her shoe off and rubbed her toe against her ankle.

“Let me.”

“Ohh.” She gasped when I bent down and removed her other shoe before I lifted her legs up on the couch and placed her feet in my lap.

I easily massaged them, and I saw her chest heave gently as she licked her lips.

I continued the conversation to keep her focus on that and not on what I was doing to her. I wanted her relaxed and not second-guessing everything.

“Who broke your heart, sweetheart?”

“Me.”

She said it unemphatically without hesitation.

“How?”

“I convinced myself that there is a great man out there waiting for me along with a great romance that would give me a happily ever after. I allowed myself to believe that a man like those in the books that I read does exist and that he was waiting for me.”

“Why don’t you believe that anymore?”

“I’m thirty-six, and I’m still a virgin. Go ahead, stare at me like I’m an unusual specimen underneath a microscope.”

“Never that, love. I respect your decision to preserve your body and treasure it for the vessel that it is, as well as how you’ve kept the faith that there’s someone out there for you ready to give you everything that you deserve.

Don’t give up that hope, Myraj. You’re worth it, so worth it, my love. ”

“You’re the first person who has felt that way. I stopped telling men because I was tired of them either ridiculing me, trying to figure out what was wrong with me, or trying to be my first so that they could claim that right.”

“Nah, gorgeous. You deserve a special night created specifically for you, something that would be beautiful and special and that would cater to every part of you; not some nigga eager to take your virtue and not treasure it.”

Her eyes seemed to light up at my words, but she remained quiet. We talked about other things for several more minutes before she tilted her head, and a soft smile danced on her lips. “Thank you for that,” she declared, swinging her feet off my lap.

“You’re welcome, beautiful.”

“I’d better get back to my room now. They should be done—hopefully,” she stated as she slipped her shoes back on her feet.

“Let me walk you down.”

“Don’t. I need a few minutes to think before I’m in their presence.”

“You sure?”

“Absolutely. I know they’ll be done when I get there, and she’s going to have a thousand questions.”

“If not, you have a place to crash. Feel no pressure or hesitation, at all. Just knock, and I won’t think too far into it.”

“Hmm.”

“What?”

“That’s what I like about you.”

“What’s that?”

“You seem to understand the parts of a woman that most men don’t. You remind me of some of my favorite book baes.”

I tried not to outwardly tense at all, but I did turn my lips down and shake my head. “I’m just a man. Don’t put me up on nobody’s pedestal.”

She bit her lip and lowered her eyes shyly before she glanced back up at me. “Micaiah, you said that I should have a special night of my own choosing, something specific to me, right?”

“Right.”

“I know what I want and who I want. I’m thirty-six, and if I never meet the man of my dreams, and if I never get married, I want that special night with someone who is equally special.”

I knew where she was going, and though I should have stopped her, I didn’t—I couldn’t.

I felt a connection with this woman that I didn’t want to let slip away.

The other part was that she didn’t seem to know who I was, and she was still drawn to me.

I used a logo for both of my pen names, but as Mike Jamison, I had made a few public appearances.

I just didn’t allow my photo to be used.

As MJ Stone, I had never made an appearance.

Unless she attended one of the conferences I was in as Mike Jamison, I didn’t expect for her to recognize me.

Besides my three marriages, women tended to be drawn to me for the wrong reasons, and I didn’t want or need a gold-digger or a woman looking for connections.

“I feel a connection with you that I have never felt with anyone before. I mean, I don’t want to die a virgin.”

“There could be worse things,” I remarked with a wink.

“Name one.”

I smirked, and she threw a pillow at me before she stood and grabbed her purse. I caught it in the air. “What was that for?”

“Because you couldn’t come up with a single response to that.” She giggled.

I shrugged. “Well, I might tell you a story, but I won’t tell you a lie. Let me at least walk you to the elevators.”

“Okay. And thank you for the advice,” she replied as she walked to the door.

I grabbed my key card and followed her out. “Anytime. You just need to figure out what you’re going to do about not dying as a virgin, and everything else in the world should be all right.”

Her phone buzzed as we reached the elevator doors, and she glanced at it. “That’s Symone looking for me. I’ve got the all-clear. Oh, about that—I know what I want to do.”

“What?” I asked as she stepped onto the elevator.

“You.”

“You just gonna drop that li’l ticking time bomb like that and walk your sexy ass away?”

She giggled, pressed the button for her floor, and then held the door open. “Can we meet tomorrow evening for a mental health check-in on the rooftop?”

“Sure, ’cause I gotta be crazy to let your ass walk away after a comment like that.”

She pushed the door closed button on me and laughed, leaving me standing there with a hard dick and a mind full of thoughts—all about the lovely, sexy brown woman who blew my mind.
