Chapter 8

Chapter Eight

Daria

My core tightens, and my clit throbs. I open my eyes and look down my body. Patrick is between my legs, waking me up as he has for over two weeks. He says he can’t make it through the day unless he starts it out with my taste on his tongue.

My back arches as my body climbs higher toward a climax. Patrick inserts two fingers into me and proceeds to gently rub against my G-spot. I moan long and loud, nearly ready to burst. My walls flutter along his fingers when he pulls them out.

I’m about to tell him how pissed I am when he rises up over me and slams into me hard. I scream as I come so violently my body shakes. My legs tremble, and I feel like I’m going to pass out.

“Eyes, sweets,” he orders.

It takes some time for me to comprehend, but when my eyes find his, I see everything he’s feeling written on his face.

Over the last couple of weeks, not only has he woken me up this way every morning, but he’s insisted I stay with him at his condo.

My family knows where I am, and they’re letting us be for now.

I know that won’t last much longer, because my uncle and Andrei have both asked to meet with Patrick. He says he’ll take care of it.

I haven’t had any more issues with women in Patrick’s life or March.

Tonight is my final performance as the Sugar Plum Fairy.

We’re closing out the season. I’m excited for it to end, but I’m also not sure what my plans will be from here on out.

If Patrick and I keep this up, I’m going to get pregnant.

As I stare up into his eyes, I can’t stop those three little words from forming in my mind. It’s not because of the orgasm he just gave me. It’s him. We spend our evenings when we aren’t in bed together getting to know each other. I’ll sit in his office as he works and watch him.

“I love you.” The words tumble out, and my eyes flare wide.

He smiles and leans down as he works himself in and out of my body.

“I know, sweets. I love you too.”

He kisses me deep and continues to move. I have to pull away and moan long as I come again. He pushes in deep and comes too.

“Fuck, sweets, I love when you make me come so hard.”

He kisses me and rolls us so I’m sprawled over his body.

We lie like that, with his cock still inside me, until his phone pings with a message. I go to move off him, but he holds me tight to his body.

“Marry me?” he asks, and I smile up at him as I sit up.

“Why?”

“Because we love each other, and I want you all to myself. I want to know that every night, for the rest of my life, you’ll be in my bed and at my side.”

“You say some of the sweetest things.” I lean down and kiss his lips.

“I’m serious, sweets.”

Tilting my head to the side, I stare at his headboard as I think about it. I decide to come up with things that will throw him off for a bit.

“I want an emerald engagement ring, a green dress, and green heels with satin ribbons.” They’re are all such specific things it’ll take him time to find them, and we’ll have time.

“Is that a yes?”

“If you get me those things, it’s a yes.” I smile at him, and he rolls us, putting me under him as he kisses me deep.

“Challenge accepted. If I get you all those things, you’ll marry me?”

“Yes.”

“Do you want your family there?”

I bite my lip and think about it before answering him. “I do, but we both know they won’t allow it to happen for a while. But it will take you long enough to find everything, so we have time for them to get used to us.”

“If I got it all right away, would you marry me without them?”

“I told you if you got all that, I’d marry you, didn’t I?”

“I’m on it.” He kisses my forehead and jumps up to grab his phone.

He responds to a text message while I roll out of bed and head for the bathroom. I have to get to the theater for warmups and to get in makeup. Patrick still leaves marks all over my body, and I have to cover my tattoos.

An hour later, we’re on our way to the theater. Patrick and I are in the back seat of his SUV, with Hayes and JJ up front.

“Hayes, pull over here for a moment,” Patrick says, and I notice a small strip mall with a high-end jeweler.

I figure he’s going in to get a ring ordered, so I don’t get out. I stay in the back seat, answering emails. Mr. March is coming back on Monday, and I need to get everything ready for his arrival.

“Oh shit,” Hayes says from the front seat, and I turn as the doors click locked.

I expect there to be a problem but see Roisin walking up to the SUV. That’s when I realize I haven’t seen any of Patrick’s family since that first night. We only stay at his condo.

“Hayes, is my brother in there?” She pounds on his window.

He rolls it down partially so she can’t see into the back, and it dawns on me that Patrick is keeping me a secret from his family. If he wanted them to know about me, wouldn’t he be okay with Roisin seeing me? But Hayes isn’t allowing it. My heart thumps hard. He told me he loved me.

“No, he’s busy. It’s just JJ and me.”

“No, it isn’t. I can see someone in the back. He hasn’t been home in a couple of weeks except to grab clothes. Does he have a girlfriend back there?” she yells at him.

“No one’s back there.”

I am a secret. All of my family knows about us, but he hasn’t told his about me. Oh shit. I can’t stay here. I can’t.

I open the ride-share app on my phone and schedule an immediate pickup.

Roisin keeps pounding on the window, yelling about how her brother doesn’t keep secrets.

I don’t have much more time, or he’ll come out before I make my escape, and Hayes will stop me.

I spot the car service pulling up and slide across to the opposite door. I flip the lock and jump out.

“It better not be that bimbo manager from the club,” Roisin screams as my tears start to fall.

I turn to her.

“I took care of her. I need to go.”

Several things happen at once. Roisin sees me and gasps. Hayes yells my name, and Patrick steps out of the jewelry store.

I rush for the car and jump in, shouting for the driver to take off. Patrick knows where I’m heading, but he won’t be able to get in. My heart shatters. I don’t want to be a secret.

Patrick

“Sweets,” I yell as she takes off in a car. The tears running down her face break my heart. “Daria,” I shout, but the car is gone.

Roisin walks toward me, and I look at the SUV, wondering what the fuck just happened. Hayes rushes over.

“You said you didn’t want anyone to know yet,” he says before Ro can say anything.

“Fuck.” I know exactly what happened.

The two most important people in my world don’t know each other.

I was keeping them apart, per advice from someone else, and I’m regretting it now.

Hayes’s words are proof. Daria thought I didn’t want anyone to know about her, and I did that because I was protecting her.

We’re still trying to find my aunt, and there’s still the other threats too.

Lyric has a lead on my aunt. I’ve sent men to see if it’s really her before I go there because I didn’t want to leave Daria’s side.

I’m missing important information, and I can’t let my guard down, or Daria and Ro both could get hurt as collateral damage.

I’ve already found out from Hayes that there’s a threat on her life.

He also gave me the information on the man who touched my woman.

If he touches her again, I’ll be dealing with him.

“Was that the Sugar Plum Fairy?”

“Yes, she’s my fiancée. Her name is Daria Belyaev. I’m marrying her as soon as I get everything arranged. If she’ll still have me. I was protecting her and you by not introducing you yet. But I think she thinks I’m keeping her a secret.”

“She’ll run,” Hayes says, and I nod. He’s right. She’ll be gone fast if I don’t do something about this.

There is only one person who can help me, but I have to keep my other plans a secret because I don’t want him to know I suspect she’s already pregnant.

“I’m so sorry, Paddy,” Ro says, and I pull her into my arms.

“It’s okay, kiddo. What are you doing out here?”

“I have a bracelet I’m picking up at McGill’s.” She points at the jeweler I just came out of. They’ve been our family jeweler for years. I’m lucky they had everything for the custom piece I want made for my sweets.

“JJ, take her home as soon as she’s done. Where are your guards?” I glance around and don’t see them.

“I—”

“You slipped them again. Shit. Ro, you can’t do that right now. There could be a threat, and I need to know that the two most important women in my life are safe. I need to get to Daria. Go with JJ.”

“I will. Sorry.”

I kiss her forehead, and she heads into the store.

“Let’s go,” I tell Hayes, and we head back to the SUV as I dial the number. The phone rings several times before he answers.

“MacEvoy.”

“Belyaev, there was a complete misunderstanding. As you suggested, I kept the girls separated to protect them, and now your sister thinks I don’t want her to be a part of my family. I need your help. This was your fucking idea.” He was the one who suggested it.

I’ve been meeting with him and Andrei many times, along with Barone, trying to weed out all of our turncoats.

Andrei found two in his midst, and one of them is the hacker I think Broderick suggested I use.

He knew a lot about each of the women. When we captured him, he had information on Daria and my sister.

Barone found one of his soldiers has been feeding information to someone. It’s the head that we can’t find. We need to cut the head off this snake.

“I’ll take care of it.”

“I’m going to the ballet tonight. I need her to meet me at the Bellagio afterward. Please.”

“She’ll be there. What’s going on?”

“I had a private celebration planned for the end of the ballet show.” I give him part of the truth.

He doesn’t need to know I’m taking his advice further and have someone set to meet us there tonight to marry us. It will just be her and me tonight. After we get the snake, I’ll be able to give her the wedding she deserves.
