Epilogue

Daria

A Couple of Hours Later

After Patrick saved me, he took me to his house, where the doctor checked me over.

I’m five weeks pregnant, according to the doctor.

She was able to run an ultrasound, and everything is good with the baby, but she wants me to take it easy for a few days.

Patrick told her no problem. I’m lying in his large bed in his room, while he’s meeting with all the families, even the Triad.

A soft knock sounds at the door, and it opens a crack. “May I come in?” Roisin’s face appears in the gap.

“Yes, please. I’m bored.”

“Oh, I can get the television up for you.” She climbs onto Patrick’s side of the bed and opens a drawer, then pulls out a remote.

Right in front of me, across the room, a television screen rises from an entertainment center I thought was weird because it has no TV on it.

“What do you like to watch?”

“Anything, really. I just need the distraction. Any news on Hayes and Sloane?”

“I heard they’re both okay.”

When Patrick held me in his arms for the drive here, he told me Harry was being kicked back down in the rank because he was on Broderick’s side for a bit.

It wasn’t until Harry heard me talking to Hayes in the back of the car, and say I wanted Patrick to keep his men and respect, that he told Broderick he no longer wanted to support him.

Then Patrick told me the Bratva took March and will take care of him.

“My aunts want to do a traditional Irish breakfast for Christmas morning. They are planning everything to give you a break, even though you’re the lady of the house. Morrigan wanted me to confirm if you would be okay with that.”

“Oh, no, this has been her house for years. I won’t assume her role.”

“She already likes you. Now you’re going to be her favorite.”

I can’t help but laugh. We start watching Home Alone, and before I know it, I fall asleep.

I feel his hands as soon as his arms wrap around me.

“I love you, sweets. I’ll always love you.”

“I love you too, Patrick.”

“The best thing I ever did was go to The Nutcracker and fall for the Sugar Plum Fairy.”

“The best thing I’ve ever done is fall in love with the biggest, baddest Irishman I’ve ever met.” I lean into him as he kisses me long and deep.
