Epilogue

T he flames that burn in her heart rage like a storm, pushing and pulsing in a way that will not be contained—she will not be contained.

This has gone on long enough and entirely too far. I can’t hold her back any longer. I did what I had to do and I have no regrets—I never will.

Her silent wrath thickens the air, its tensions threatening her arrival.

It’s too late. My once granted pleas have been cast aside.

My eyes cut to the skies as I wait, anticipation stirring for the consequences to come—for my decision, my choice.

It wouldn’t be long now.

The ire in her eyes pierces my soul. But I also sense fear buried deep within them. I brace myself as I know I will do whatever it takes to prevent her fall.

If I let the Nightmare blanket us in darkness, the Silence will perish. It’s time to end this once and for all.
