CHAPTER SEVEN
Desmond
Mine! She is all mine! My woman!
I try to hide my joy and amusement since I can’t afford to let Lorelei think that I am being weird about it, though, according to Timothy, my agreeing to marry a stranger just because I want to help her stay in the US when she can find another job to sponsor her visa is weird enough.
The fact that she is doing this not because of herself but her grandmother makes me even want her more.
I have always heard about how family always means sacrifice, but I can’t really say I relate to that statement.
My family has never sacrificed anything for each other.
Not my father, not my mother. Everyone had been so focused on their own selfish ambition, and they cared very little about what price or what hurt they brought to their loved ones.
Lorelei is not like that, and that is one of her greatest strengths.
All night, I kept thinking about how our new life would pan out.
At the moment, we have yet to talk about things like where we would stay and stuff like that, but it would come up with time.
I had offered to buy her a ring, but Lorelei had simply refused, telling me she wouldn’t make me spend a dime on her since I am doing her a huge favor.
Funny how she doesn’t know that she is the one actually doing me a huge favor by agreeing to be my woman. To be my real family, one I have never had.
One I thought I’d never have.
“She is my destiny, Tim. Don’t you see it?” I ask my friend who is going to be my best man today.
“No, I don’t. All I see is madness,” Timothy grumbles as we walk towards the building. “I know you’ve always loved women on the thick side, but I have never heard you so eager to marry one before.”
Marriage is an idea I have always loathed, especially when I see what it did to my parents, but it is the only way I can get Lorelei right beside me, where she belongs. My grandfather has always gone on about how when you meet the woman for you, you’d know right away.
And Lorelei is the woman for me!
“She is different. You all don’t see what I see about Lorelei.”
Explaining to them how she is different from every other woman out there is difficult, especially when they just don’t seem to get it.
I have tried explaining to Timothy, but he seems to tune me out whenever I try to explain how wonderful Lorelei is.
All night, I could barely sleep as I kept thinking about how much I can’t wait for Lorelei to become my legal wife.
Timothy had tried to mention that she might change her mind, but I know she won’t be doing that.
She needs this marriage to be able to stay in the US, and I need her in my life.
We step into the building, and I spot Lorelei and her best friend, Katherine, standing and waiting for us. Just like her, Katherine is also on the thick side, though she isn’t as breathtaking as my Lorelei is.
“Gosh, she looks beautiful,” I let out a breath as Timothy rolls his eyes beside me.
Thanks to him, I intend to handle the ID part. I intend to marry Lorelei as Desmond Sinclair, and despite his strong disapproval, Timothy is going to handle that. He had kept on hammering that this is deceit, which it isn’t, just a little bit of omission.
As if he somehow knows I am up to something, my grandfather calls, and I stare at the phone. I show Timothy, expecting some sort of explanation, but he simply whispers that he has no idea what this is about.
You better not have told him anything!
I answer the call, walking away as my grandfather clears his throat. “Two weeks, Desi. In two weeks, you’re going to resume officially.”
That is Damian Sinclair for you. Straight to the jugular.
“Yes, I’m well aware, and I’m preparing for that,” I answer, hoping this reminder is all he called for.
“Need I remind you how important this is? If we’re going to stop your father, you need to prove yourself with this company.”
At the moment, I care very little about anything else in the world other than getting married to my Lorelei. I pretend to listen to what my grandfather has to say, ending the call with glee as I join my future bride.
The marriage ceremony goes quite smoothly, with me barely able to take my eyes off Lorelei. She looks absolutely gorgeous in her wedding gown, and I know that Katherine had picked it for her. I can see her cleavage for the first time, and that sight has me sporting an erection right there.
Tonight is the night I claim you, Lorelei.
I will never force myself on a woman, and I’ll make Lorelei realize just how much she wants me, even if she doesn’t know it yet.
After our vows, I kiss her right on the lips, unable to hold myself back.
The kiss is nothing short of magical. I can sense her nervousness, which is exactly why I took the lead.
Feeling her soft, warm lips against mine makes me want her even more.
Not only does her softness draw me in, but she tastes like a mixture of orange and mint, and I relish the taste, wondering what it would feel like to explore her even further.
I sign the document as Desmond Sinclair, knowing that Lorelei won’t think twice about it, and the clerk will cover things up for us.
Timothy and Katherine leave us, and I offer to take Lorelei out on a date, my heart beating fast as I think she might reject.
She accepts without so much as a second thought, and even though I hate that she wanted to change out of her gown, I tell her it’s nothing, especially when I see how beautiful the green gown looks on her.
With an even more pronounced cleavage and amazing neckline, I realize that food isn’t exactly what I want, but her, however, I need to get something in her and seduce her into my bed.
Or in this case, hers, since I can’t bring her over to my place.
“So, where are we going?” Lorelei asks as I hold her hand, hailing down a taxi with the other.
“A fine dining restaurant. Timothy had decided to help with a reservation. I hear a plate can cost somewhere around $300 a plate.”
That is a lie, but I can’t have Lorelei knowing.
The truth is that I had kind of made a deal with the owner.
I flew in one of the top chefs in the country, rented out the entire restaurant, and hired actors to make it look like a normal day.
Timothy wasn’t pleased when I made the entire arrangement, but this is the only way I can treat Lorelei to a special dinner without her thinking I’m breaking the bank.
“Did you tell Katherine?” Lorelei asks as we step in. “It’s almost as if she knew I was coming here when she made me pick out this green gown.”
The restaurant I decide on is quite luxurious with soft lighting and top-notch staff. I watch as Lorelei looks around, her eyes taking in the beauty of the place.
“We should head to our table,” I whisper to her before guiding her to the table I had selected.
“This is beautiful,” Lorelei purrs softly, and I can’t help but smile.
One of the waiters walks towards us and hands us the fancy menu.
I am not exactly sure what I’d have, and I look at Lorelei, whose brows are furrowed together as she scans the menu.
She is probably realizing how expensive the meals are, which is a surprise since the price she sees is only ten percent of the real price.
“Don’t worry, everything is complimentary,” I assure her, and somehow that helps her make a decision.
She finally decides on having seared salmon with lemon butter sauce. “My grandmother once mentioned having something like this.”
She smiles as the dish arrives from the kitchen, and I watch as she tackles it.
I didn’t know one could get this much joy watching a person eat, and the more I look at her, the more I want to throw caution to the wind and claim her right away.
However, I calm my growing hunger for her, knowing that allowing her to enjoy this moment is special.
“God, this is divine. Today is magical, Desmond, and it’s all thanks to you.”
Hearing those words from her makes me delighted.
If Lorelei wants the world to burn, all she needs to do is ask me, and I’ll gladly set the world on fire for her.
I watch her enjoy her meal, barely eating mine.
She tells me how she had always dreamt of a beautiful wedding, and while this is nothing like what she hoped, she is glad to have enjoyed something like this.
“Do you really not realize how beautiful you are?” I bring myself to ask her.
Lorelei has always made some rather sharp comments about her beauty, and I really need her to know she is the most beautiful woman in the world.
“Yes, I know how everyone has inner beauty and stuff,” Lorelei begins, but I cut her off, not wanting to hear anything about that.
“I do not mean inner beauty, Lorelei. You are beautiful in every version of the world's beauty.
Even the world's beauty fails to describe you, and I am angry that you have no idea just how much being around you affects me.”
She looks at me, confusion, wonder, and something I can’t place my hands on flashes through her face. She looks down at her plate and then mutters something which I don’t catch.
“Maybe you’ve dealt with shallow people in the past who can’t see your beauty, which is their fault, not yours,” I say firmly, Lorelei taking a deep breath.
“The very first moment I saw you, Lorelei, I was left speechless, and I had to do everything in my power not to appear starstruck. The past four weeks have been the happiest I’ve been in years because I find myself staring at you.
I mean, you are gorgeous, sexy, and I would love nothing more than to love you as a woman should be loved. ”
Lorelei simply continues to look at me, her face slowly turning red. My words seem to embarrass her, which I find cute.
She is so adorable, and I want her by my side forever.
She is going to be by my side for now, but I need to make that permanent. To make her realize that she is the woman for me, the woman of my dreams that I never knew I searched for till I saw her.
One I thought I would never find.
My decision to remain single is a direct result of what I had seen from my parents, who, despite everything, are still married even if they haven’t lived under the same roof in the past ten years.
I always thought my mother would end the marriage, but neither of them seems to be interested in parting with each other.
I had always been content remaining single until I met Lorelei, and the truth is, I can’t explain why everything just feels right with her.
“I didn’t agree to just marry you because I’m nice.
It’s because I can totally imagine being with a woman like you, and though I’m not asking anything from you, I just want you to know that you don’t have to let anyone make you feel bad just because they feel insecure about their body.
From time immemorial, voluptuous women like you have been the standard of beauty from Aphrodite to Venus and the beautiful goddesses of the world. ”
“Desmond,” Lorelei calls my name softly. “I….”
“You don’t need to say anything, Lorelei. I just want you to know that you are a woman who doesn’t need to dim her light or feel insecure. You are beautiful, and any man would be lucky to call you his.”
I place my hand on hers, gently rubbing it, hoping this would lift her confidence. I hate the fact that I never really addressed this till now. I feel like hunting down all the men who have ever been in her life who failed to tell her just how beautiful she is.
“Why are you so kind to me?” Lorelei asks, tears running down her face.
“Because you deserve it,” I tell her. “Because I love you.”
Finally said it!
“We just met a month ago.”
I nod, admitting that it is short, but it doesn’t change my feelings. Lorelei tells me she doesn’t have anything to give to me as she is devoted to her grandmother.
“We are married because I don’t want you hurt, not because I want anything from you. If you want, once we leave here, we can go back to being just colleagues, though I’d love to just enjoy today.”
Uncertainty dances in her eyes at my words.
Let’s start with today, though you’ll never leave my side, Lorelei.
“Just today, Desmond. Tomorrow we go back to friends.”
I try not to show my amusement, and we continue with our meal, my heart full with joy. Once we leave, I place my hand on Lorelei’s shoulder as if to lay my claim on her as we step onto the street.
“Where do you think we should-”
A cyclist trying to swerve almost collides with her, and I pull Lorelei towards me, her body crushing against mine. I feel my cock poke against her stomach, and I try not to look at her face.
“Is that what I think it is?” Lorelei asks in a hoarse whisper, her body still pressed against mine.
“Yes. I’m sorry, but my body reacts this way whenever I’m around you.”
She looks at me as she wets her lips, almost in anticipation. I kiss her at that moment, not caring that we are standing at the restaurant’s entrance or in the middle of the street.
“We shouldn’t be doing this,” Lorelei says, her voice shaking. Her walls are vulnerable, and if I push rightly, I’ll get to spend this evening with my woman, the future mother of my kids.
“Just for today, Lorelei. Let me love you like you deserve to be loved,” I whisper into her ears, my lips brushing them. I place my hand right on her soft ass, squeezing it like I had imagined doing so many times. “Just this moment, Lorelei, and I’ll never ask again.”
Her doe eyes look at me, and in that moment, I know that she won’t be able to refuse me, so I move in again, kissing her passionately, knowing that I will be sealing my claim on her soon.
