Chapter 18

Showtime Dalton

“Okay, okay, you guys have been begging for updates,” I pause, my locker with my bunker gear behind me on the camera, “Which I very much appreciate, so before I start shift, here’s the update.”

A wide smile pulls across my face. “I think it went incredible. I took her to laser tag, and I’ll keep the details to myself, but—”

“But his cheeks are rosy,” a voice says off camera, and my eyes dart in the direction.

A second later, an arm is thrown around my neck and I’m pulled into a scuffle, the camera angle showing blue uniform, white ceilings, and red lockers before it comes back to neutral. Liam’s face fills the screen.

“I think our boy here is in loooooooove,” Liam croons, making the face that goes along with it.

“Shut up, I’ve known her for a couple of weeks,” I say, popping up over his shoulder and reaching for the phone. “Give me the phone back.”

“Hell no, I’m finishing this the way you always do.” Liam smirks at the camera. Then he winks.
