19. Ofelia #3
He takes his mouth away and looks up at me. “Do you have any idea how fucking wet and swollen you are?” he mutters, licking the inside of my thigh. “And you just told the entire yacht what we’re doing up here.”
“It’s your fault,” I gasp. Aching for his mouth, I clutch convulsively at his shoulders. “It’s what happens when I suck your cock.”
He gives a surprised huff of laughter, shaking his head, holding his mouth just above me as I arch hungrily toward him. “I was going to make you wait,” he says, licking me in one long stroke that makes me moan. “But fuck it.”
Standing up, he pulls me to the edge of the cushions and positions his cock against me.
“Come down,” I say, reaching for him. “Close to me.”
“No.” His hands hook around the tops of my thighs as he anchors himself against me. “I want to watch you, angel.”
He enters me in a savage thrust.
Oh, God. Oh, fuck.
I think he meant to go slow, but neither of us are in any mood for that. I splay my legs and he fills me completely. I tug at him, my hands clawing at his torso, still wanting more, wanting to lose myself in him until I forget the distance we’re both facing, the darkness of his absence.
“Fuck, Ofelia.” He pushes into me to the hilt, leaning over me so his pelvic bone hits my clit. He captures one nipple in his mouth, then the other, tugging them just hard enough to send the first tremor of intensity uncurling through my body as his thrusts become more forceful.
Then he slips his thumb over my clit and surges deep inside me. “Look at me,” he growls.
I open my eyes.
“Now, angel.” He presses down on my clit, and I come apart.
It hits me hard, ripping through me like a tornado, making me clench around him so fiercely he cries out, pounding his own release deep inside me until we’re both shuddering with it.
He lowers himself to my body and takes my mouth, our release and my tears mingling in bittersweet farewell.
We sleep in brief intervals, neither of us willing to relinquish a moment of our last night together.
Amid a rose-and-gold dawn, tired and wired, my body limp with the aftermath of a night being dismantled, over and over, by Alexei’s hands and mouth, I finally go to the lower deck to board the tender.
“Call Mickey.” He holds my hands as we stand by the ladder. “As soon as you get back to Granada. Get that room built.”
He glances away briefly as if he’s having some kind of internal debate. When he looks back, his face is grim.
“It won’t happen,” he says, “because we’re taking every precaution to ensure it doesn’t. But if—” He cuts off abruptly and looks away.
I move closer to him. “If someone comes for me?”
He gives the barest of nods.
“It’s okay.” I touch his face. “We both know it can happen, Alexei. We’ve both lived it before.”
“Don’t remind me,” he says tersely. “But, Ofelia. If that ever happens again—if, for any reason, you find yourself alone and have to run—get to Armilla Air Base. Do you know where that is?”
“The military base?”
“That’s the one.” He slips his fingers through mine, pressing a cream card into my palm.
“Ask for Red 24 at the gate and use the code I’ve written on the back of this card when they ask for it.
If you can’t get to the base, then call this number.
Give the code to whoever answers. The people on the other end of the line will do whatever is necessary to get you to safety. ”
He pauses, as if debating with himself whether to continue.
“Say it,” I tell him.
He grimaces. “If there is absolutely no other option, the people on the end of this line will know how to bring you to me. But that is a last resort, okay? Your father’s finca is the safest place for you to run to.”
I can hear how much it costs him to say it.
“The dragons are good at their job, so trust them and let them do it. But if all else fails—and only if there is no other option—then Red 24 will know how to find me.” He strokes my face. “Please tell me you understand, Ofelia. Don’t ever do this if there is another choice.”
I nod, tucking the paper away safely. “Thank you,” I whisper and kiss his cheek softly. “Thank you for trusting me with this.”
He doesn’t smile. “I wish I didn’t have to.”
“I know.” I stand against him, savoring these last moments. “But we live in a world that requires backup plans, Alexei. I’m glad you can trust me with yours.”
He kisses the top of my head. “Always,” he murmurs.
“Where will you go?” But I know, even as I ask, that he won’t answer. “Do you have any idea when we’ll see one another again?”
But I know the answer to that too, even before the pained twist of his head.
“Oh, God.” I look quickly away to hide my tears, the horizon blurring. Now that the moment is here I can’t fucking stand it.
“Ofelia.” He squeezes my hands. “It’s not like before. You know that, don’t you?” His eyes search my face. “Tell me you know that.”
I nod slowly. “I know that,” I whisper, staring down at our joined hands.
“Don’t forget it.” He kisses me once, fiercely. “Keep that paper safe. And get Mickey onto that room. I need to be able to talk to you.”
I stare behind me as the tender pulls away from the yacht, watching it until Alexei’s figure at the railing fades to a sliver, then finally disappears.
