Chapter 1 #2

“Oh yeah?” Mitch asks, a fucked up little twinkle in his eyes.

“Not just any omega. She’s my scent match.”

“Like fuck I am!” I shout, then turn on my heel and run.

With every bit of energy I have, I force my legs to move through the field of our backyard. If I can make it into the trees, it will be harder to find me.

Shouting sounds behind me, not of anger but of excitement.

“Go get your omega, son!” someone says followed by a round of cheers. Those sick fucks were getting amusement out of the fact their son is chasing me down.

He’s not going to let me go. Not without a fight. It’s a good thing I’m willing to give him one.

“Come on now, Ava!” Ryan shouts from behind me. “Don’t be like that. Plus, you're only making this harder on yourself. I fucking love a good chase.” His low chuckle makes me want to puke.

Lungs screaming, limbs aching I still run. I still force myself to move.

But the thing is, I’m not faster than Ryan. I manage to make it into the tree line but he’s right on my trail.

With every step I take, he gets closer and closer.

Sweat pours down my back, along my brow and hair line. I’m getting more and more drained by the second. Shoving my hand into my pocket, I wrap my hand around the switchblade and pull it free. If he catches up to me, I’m swinging blindly.

Despite my determination to save myself, to get away from these monsters, it’s not good enough.

Something large and hard slams into me, sending me crashing to the ground.

I let out a scream, the switchblade falling from my grasp as Ryan’s weight pins me to the ground.

“Get the fuck off me!” I scream, pure panic and terror flooding me.

“Never going to fucking happen,” he chuckles cruelly.

I try to fight him but he’s too strong. He manages to flip me over onto my back.

“Look at you,” he leers down at me. “Exactly where you’re supposed to be. Under me like a good little slut.”

I try to swing at him but he catches my arms, pinning them above my head.

I struggle, trying to get free and whimper when his grip on me tightens.

“Fight all you want, Little Omega,” he growls. “It only makes my cock harder.” He leans forward and inhales deeply, letting out a feral groan of pleasure. “You smell fucking amazing,” he groans. “Need to be inside you. Now.”

“No,” I say in a panic. “No. Please. No.”

He ignores me and starts to shove down my pants. I try to buck my hips but he shoves my ass back down to the ground. “Be a good girl and let me fuck you or I’ll kill you,” he threatens.

Despite being his scent match, I truly believe he would kill me.

Still, I don’t listen. I’d rather be dead than submit to him.

But he’s too strong and when he’s able to get my pants down far enough, I start to cry. This can’t be happening. Anything but this.

He just laughs, working on his pants.

“Stop resisting. You know you want my cock. Your pussy is begging for my knot. I can fucking smell you.”

The fucked up thing is, I am aroused, my body is betraying me. Biology fucking me over. It’s not me wanting him, it’s the omega wanting her alpha.

I’m conflicted. My heart and mind hate this, don't want this. But my body says something else.

“That's it.” He holds my hips down as he continues to pin my arms above my head. “Let me in.”

Squeezing my eyes shut, I let out another sob of frustration and dread. He’s too strong, I can’t fight back. I’m too fucking weak.

And he gets what he wants.

I let out a scream of pain as he forces his way into me.

“Fuck!” He lets out a harsh growl. “So fucking tight and wet.”

He starts to pound into me with punishing thrusts, every one hurting more than the last.

My screams fall on deaf ears. No one can hear me, no one is coming for me.

Ryan continues to growl and grunt above me, seeming to grow more feral by the second.

I refuse to open my eyes, praying this will be over.

Instead, I’m blindsided as he tucks his face into my neck.

When he bites down, I freeze like a scared animal as he marks me without my consent.

There are so many sensations flooding my veins, trying to consume my mind.

I need to fight. I can’t let him claim and keep me.

I know it’ll kill any remaining spark I might have, and I’ll be a shell of myself.

Ryan gets lost in the moment, continuing to rut into me as he growls, his teeth locked into my neck, and he lets go of my arms.

I force myself to focus, and begin to pat the ground around me, looking for something, anything, to use as a weapon. Like the gods are watching over me, my hand lands on the handle of my switchblade.

I grab it, release the blade and without any hesitation, I jam it into his neck.

He lets out a gargling sound as his teeth release my neck. I open my eyes just in time to see him staring down at me with terror in his eyes.

Something warm and sticky lands on my face as he grabs for his neck. He falls to the side, pulling free from me. The gurgling sounds turn into choking.

I scramble to my feet and pull my pants back up.

I don’t let anything distract me, survival mode at its best right now.

I take one last look at the man bleeding out on the forest floor.

There’s too much blood, there’s no way he’ll come back from this.

The ground is stained red, and it feels as if it’s trying to follow me.

Swallowing back a sob, I grab my bag before taking off further into the woods.

Everything becomes a blur as I keep running. I don’t stop, not until I reach the road. And even then, I keep going until my legs give out and I fall to my knees.

Taking in deep heavy breaths, I force everything that just happened deep down and allow the numb shock to take hold of me. I don’t have time to break. He doesn’t get to do that to me.

The sound of a car has me looking up. Two bright headlights shine in my eyes, causing me to squint.

The car comes to a stop and a man gets out of the driver's side. “Are you okay?” He rushes over to me. My instincts tell me to run, but I don’t have any energy left in me.

“Oh my god, you’re bleeding. Come with me, I’ll get you some help.”

“What’s going on?” a woman asks. “Oh my god. Is she okay?”

“I don’t know,” the man says.

“Oh hunny, come. Let’s get you to safety.”

For some reason, my brain believed this sweet sounding woman. Surely they were here to help, right?

They get me to my feet and guide me to the back seat of their car.

As the car takes off, they continue to talk, trying to ask me questions.

I don’t answer, I can’t. I feel my body shutting down and my eyes closing.

I have nothing left in me right now. I want a new life, please God, let something good happen to me now.

I want to leave Ava behind and emerge a new person.

Little do I know, it would seem I’ve run from one monster, only to end up in the grasp of another.
