Chapter 19

Chapter

Nineteen

One year later

WILLOW

Growing a baby is hard work! I’ve been so sleepy for the last few months, but it means lots of naps with Briar since she’s also pregnant. I can’t believe I get to have a baby with my omega.

That being said, she’s been kind of grumpy, so we’re on a hunt today. We all need the release and the dopamine high. Syrus put out a notice for us to be careful as there are three male alphas cruising up and down the road outside of town terrorizing motorists.

Several people have been sexually assaulted, and they killed someone yesterday.

“I want to be bait,” Briar pouts. “I bet they’re using the backroads that offshoot from the main highway to hide from the sheriff.”

While the mountains do hide Widows Peak from the rest of the world, there are unfortunately side roads that make it easy for people to get lost on. They’re impassable during the winter, but now that it’s the summer?

I think Briar is right.

“You can’t get on your motorcycle anymore, Little Rose,” Atlas rumbles. “You’re four months pregnant.”

“What if I pretend to be stranded on the road…” Briar looks up at him with the look that melts his heart every time. He’s such a softy.

“Ooh! We could also hide in the truck in the shrubs that are nearby. If she’s in trouble, you can shoot them with your shotgun,” Jude suggests.

I had no idea Atlas could shoot until we were camping and a mountain lion started sniffing around. He pulled it from his bag, held it straight up in the air, and shot it to scare it away. Thankfully, it worked, but it scared the shit out of us.

“Okay,” he grumbles. “We’ll chase them down in the truck if they take off. This will be a safe hunt.”

“Yes, Alpha,” Briar says, squealing as she skips away to get her things.

“She’s so fucking cute,” I mumble, my eyes catching on her dick sculpture. I love all the little details from its place of pride in our house. I even use the cup I made with Briar. I’m obsessed with our crafts. “I can’t handle it.”

Briar started building her home on her property, but it’ll be a couple of years until it’s ready. There’s more than enough room for us all at her current house, and I’m glad to no longer live in the apartment. The longer we were there, the more unsafe it felt.

Atlas did agree to a pig pen on the property while our forever home is being built, and now we have cute little murderous pigs to eat the bodies of our victims. I can’t fucking wait to see what kind of damage they do on these spineless dickweeds.

I grab my go bag with everything I’ll need, and my heart begins to pound with excitement. It’s finally happening!

“You’re bouncing,” Atlas chuckles, his arms wrapping around me as he hugs me. “We need this. I’m excited too, but we need to be careful, okay?”

“I have masks, a new drill I need to christen with blood, hammers, and a chainsaw,” I report. “And I promise not to take any unnecessary risks.”

“You have all of these power tools and they’re rarely used to build anything,” Jude laughs. “No running with a chainsaw, Willow.”

“Ugh. You’re all so bossy since the pregnancy tests came back positive,” I complain. I can’t hide my smile, and Jude smirks, knowing I’m loving every second of this.

This is the fucking dream, I just didn’t know it until it all started falling into place.

“Ready!” Briar sings, coming out of the room. We’re both rocking little bumps that are easily covered by flowy tops. Her cargo pants allow for a little more room before she’ll need to move to maternity pants, but we’re both excited for every step of motherhood.

Walking out of the house, we load up our gear and Briar pulls out ahead of us to head out of town.

When she comes to a stop on the highway about a mile from Widows Peak, Atlas continues down a side road.

He carefully turns so he can park behind the trees that surround the right side of the road, and we wait while Briar steps out of the car, appearing upset.

It’s an act, but a really good one. If I saw her combing her hair anxiously with that look on her face, I would absolutely pull over. Thankfully, it doesn’t take long for someone to do just that.

We have the police sketches that have been posted around town by survivors of the attacks from these men, and I frown as a blue eyed, brown haired, gorgeous man gets out of the car.

It is an exact match to one of the posters, and he asks if Briar is alright.

The car is turned off to make it appear as if she’s having car trouble, and they took the bait hook, line, and sinker.

“The stupid thing won’t start, and there’s no signal here,” she explains. We have our windows open to hear her, and she raises her voice to be heard over the wind whipping over the road.

“Oh, that sucks… It sounds like a bad day for a pretty girl is about to get worse…”

The asshole shoves her against the car, and Briar pulls the stun gun she’s carrying in her back pocket and shoves it in his neck.

“I think it’s going to be worse for you, fucker!” she screams in his face.

“Shit.” Atlas lifts his shotgun out the window and shoots it into the air at an angle, watching as the guys in the truck pull up to Briar and drag him inside.

“Crazy bitch!” one of them yells, and then they’re driving away and down the side road we were on.

Briar closes up her car and runs for our vehicle, her bag already with us.

“Here we go,” Atlas murmurs, pulling on his mask. We follow his lead, and then we’re following behind their vehicle.

Our truck is faster than the nimrods hurting people because they think they can get away with it, and they crash into a tree about ten minutes down the road. Grabbing our shit, we jump out and scream like crazy people.

“Fuck. Fuck! This is like The Hills Have Eyes shit!” the blonde screams as he bails out of the truck. The front end is completely squished, and it’s definitely going to scar the tree.

My lips quiver as I begin to feel sad for the tree, and how it’s a living thing.

“You killed a tree!” I wail, adding to the drama of the moment. The other two men jump out of the car, and they begin to run away from us. “Prepare to die, assholes!”

“Poor tree,” Briar sniffs, her sneakers moving fast as she runs after our prey.

The nod to the horror movie may be completely wrong and from another part of the country, but we’re no less deadly. It’s a good thing there’s no one around, because we’re all making a lot of noise as we run.

“Time to try out those axe throwing skills,” Atlas grunts. Jude groans with need, and I know it’s gonna be an awesome fucking day.

There’s going to be so much sex after this. I can’t fucking wait.

Pulling an axe out as one of the guys trips, Atlas lets it fly, grinning as it hits him in the head. There’s a faint grunt of pain and then he falls dead on the dirt road.

“And the first shall fall!” Jude yells, getting the attention of the fallen alpha’s friends.

Turning, their eyes grow wide as they see the axe sticking out of their friend’s head.

“Kenny! You killed him!”

“No way,” Briar laughs. “That’s fucking awesome!”

“You’re crazy. All of you. Help! Take us to jail! Please!”

Chuckling, we walk forward, and I bend down to pull out the axe. It makes a crunching sound as I fight to pull it from the guy’s cranium, and one of the alphas gags, turning as he pukes.

“Such a hard fucking head. It’s too bad you weren’t smarter,” I mutter. Blood pours as I continue to fight with the axe in the redhead’s scalp, but I doubt anyone will mourn a rapist.

“Don’t look, Briar,” Jude grunts. She’s become a sympathetic puker during pregnancy, and I’m not much better. We really don’t need any DNA at our kill site. It takes a lot, but I manage to swallow back the bile that’s threatening to claw its way up my throat.

“You’ve been terrorizing our home,” I growl. The axe finally leaves Kenny’s thick skull, but not without a blood spray. Theatrical and dramatic even in death. Good lord. “If you didn’t want trouble, you should have thought about that before you all decided to be rapists.”

“Why is it always the hot girls that are crazy,” the blue eyed idiot whimpers.

“Not just the hot girls,” Jude grins, stepping forward. We all begin walking again, and the guys scream.

“We have fun murder toys!” I call out. “Don’t run, we just want to play.”

“You’re sexy when you’re being creepy,” Atlas chuckles. “Feel free to go spider monkey on them, but be—”

“Yes, Daddy,” I interrupt, already running forward. See? He really is going to be a daddy now. I’m fairly sure Atlas knocked me up, but we won’t know until the babies are born.

Jude’s blonde head of hair is very noticeable. I have a feeling we’ll be able to tell who is the daddy from that alone.

“Wait! Come back!” I yell, running full out. The only thing I need to worry about is if they have guns, but in all of the interviews, none have been reported. They’re cowards who use their brute strength against others.

“No! Stay back!” I can’t tell from here if it’s the devil with the blue eyes or the blonde speaking, but they’re both shit out of luck. I won’t stop coming for them, and neither will my pack.

“I need a perfect score,” I whine, dropping the axe in favor of my hammer. I know Atlas will pick up my toys for me.

Jumping on the blonde alpha, I climb him like a tree, clinging to him like a spider monkey. I hit him with the hammer just hard enough so he’ll pass out, squealing as he drops. I manage to hop down just in time, and then Atlas passes me and dives after the last guy’s feet.

In no time, he’s able to hog tie and gag him.

“Time to have fun,” he chuckles.

“I want the eyes,” I decide. “I wonder if this one will wake up while I’m drilling into his brain.”

“No more horror movies, baby,” Jude laughs, helping me find the power drill. “You’re scary enough as it is.”

Shrugging, I drop to my knees happily. “Wakey, wakey… hands off snakey!”

During my drilling, the blonde does come to, and Briar and Jude take turns with the nail gun on the brunette.

“Mmmm!”

“What’s that?” Atlas asks. “You’re sorry and you’ll never do it again?”

Briar giggles, as Jude holds the alpha down so she can find the chainsaw. Her eyes get big with excitement as she glances at Atlas, leaving him to sigh as he nods.

“Fuck yes! I promise not to cut off anything important,” she squeals. “Well, on myself or Jude.”

“Have fun, Little Rose,” Atlas says indulgently, his eyes heated as he watches her turn it on. Atlas is content to let us play, and he did get the first kill, after all.

Regardless, if I watch too many horror movies, Briar does too. We’re both in good company.

She’s reliving one of her favorite movies as she gets blood all over, digging the chainsaw into the alpha’s body while he screams. Since he’s gagged, they’re muffled, but it also doesn’t matter since we’re in the middle of nowhere.

There aren’t any houses in this area, which is why they’ve been getting away with their crimes.

They make sure to disable the vehicle’s tires, and then leave their victim stranded once they're done. It’s why one of them died. She had complications from the stab wounds after the rape and bled out.

These criminals didn’t once think to pull a knife on us due to how scared they are, and I’m happy we’re the ones to teach them a lesson they won’t survive.

While Briar uses her chainsaw, I continue to drill holes in the blonde’s head, and then grab a small hatchet and begin to scalp him.

I dig in deep, pulling back the top of his cranium.

By some miracle, he remains alive as he screams, and then I play with his brain for as long as I can until he dies.

“God, that was amazing,” Briar giggles, completely covered in blood, while I’m not much better.

We’re going to need a baby wipe bath and a change of clothes. It’s a good thing both are back at the truck.

“Don’t help with the clean up, please,” Atlas says. “If I need to come back with the truck to load them up, I will. In fact, fuck it. Wait here.”

“Yay, princess treatment!” I tease him.

“You better fucking believe it,” he growls, stalking toward me and kisses me. “I’m going to fuck you right against the fence while the pigs do their job.”

I’ll be so busy being full of cock, I won’t get nauseous! Score.

“Yes, please,” I grin.

We’re insane and unhinged, but this is our family.

I love how Widows Peak has accepted us as a pack, and people have already offered to babysit for us.

They’re so freaking excited for us, and I love to see we’re going to be inheriting Briar’s village.

Our murder dates don’t need to stop, we’ll just need to plan a little better.

Life will only get better from here. I don’t doubt it.
