Chapter Eighteen

Petal stepped into Dirty’s room and glanced around. There was no mess. All the clothes he had gotten her to pack were neatly folded in the chest of drawers or hung up in the closet. Sharing a room with him was a little surreal to her. She had thought about it so many times when they were together, and now it seemed so crazy to be sharing a room with him. She couldn’t help but think about what Tanya said.

Dirty had told her he loved her.

This was not a decision for anyone else but her to make, and it was a scary one. She knew he was nothing like Daemon and she didn’t feel afraid of him in that way. He’d never hurt her like that, but he had hurt her.

She didn’t want to keep thinking about the past, but her memories of Gabrielle were surfacing. That woman had been afraid of her own shadow due to Daemon. She hadn’t truly been there for her daughter. Rosalie had to do everything. She had to fight and make sacrifices for her mother. If it hadn’t been for Gabrielle, she and Rosalie would have been out of town without a backward look. They wouldn’t be in this position now. Rosalie wouldn’t have had to suffer at Colt’s hands, and Petal wouldn’t have been with Dirty.

Moving toward the bed, she sat down, and that was when she realized she wouldn’t change what they had gone through for anyone. They had made it work. Rosalie was pregnant with her first child, happily married. Against all odds, Colt and Rosalie had found one another. As for herself, she had found Dirty. She had experienced pain and life and love, and sex. So much more than she thought was possible.

The bedroom door opened and Dirty stepped into the room.

“Are you okay?”

Dirty asked. “I saw you making your way upstairs, and I wanted to check on you.”

“Yeah, I’m fine. Thinking about a whole bunch of stuff.”

She ran her hands down her thighs.

He closed the door behind him and moved closer to the bed, taking a seat beside her. She didn’t move. Didn’t even say a word. She just sat there, waiting.

This wasn’t a bad feeling. She loved him being close.

She looked up and smiled at him. “Did you know little by little, Tanya is cleaning your home?”

she asked.

He laughed. “I did notice the bathroom downstairs is clean.”

“She can’t stand any mess, apparently.”

“Petal, I know what you’re doing.”

He reached for her hand and took it in his own. He linked their fingers together and kissed her knuckles.

She felt tears spring to her eyes.

“I get it. I know what I did to you.”

“Stop,”

Petal said. “I wasn’t thinking about us. I was thinking about Gabrielle, and I was thinking about Rosalie, and just everything that has happened.”

She leaned against his shoulder. “I don’t want to keep thinking about what happened to us.”

He tightened his grip on her hand, and she sighed. It felt good. He was her strength.

“Something bad is happening, isn’t it?”

Petal asked.

Dirty was silent and she opened her eyes and turned to look at him. “We don’t know.”

She shook her head. “Don’t lie to me. That guy, Fritz, was not faking it, and Colt’s house … that wasn’t a fake either. Something bad is happening. Tell me.”

“This may or may not have anything to do with Daemon.”

“Daemon?”

“Yes, Fritz was looking into the Evil Fuckers and we have a feeling he stumbled onto something. As for Colt’s home, if what we believe is correct, then that’s retaliation.”

“Don’t you think it is a little late to be retaliating? It has been nearly a year.”

“Sometimes it is best not to act but to think on it.”

Dirty shrugged. “That is all I’ve got to say.”

Petal sighed. “I wish I could help, but I only knew about Daemon and him being Rosalie’s dad, when he suddenly wanted her to marry Colt, and all of this began.”

She sighed. “A lot of shit has happened.”

“It has. I won’t let anything happen to you.”

She was going to ask him to stop making promises he couldn’t keep, but she looked at him and didn’t want to. She believed him. Dirty would do everything in his power to make sure she didn’t get hurt or die. It was there in his gaze, in the strength of his grip on her hand. She felt it deep in her soul, and she just knew things were changing between them. Petal stared into his eyes, and he looked right back at her. Neither of them spoke, and then he moved in closer, his lips coming ever nearer.

There was no reason to fight this. And as his lips brushed against hers, she knew she didn’t want to fight him.

He still held her hand, and with his free one, he reached up to cup her face. She felt him touch her, and she moaned, especially as his kiss deepened.

This was a different kind of kiss. There was no vengeance. No anger. Nothing holding them back. It was a sweet and gentle kiss.

She and Dirty never had this.

He turned toward her, and they moved together, not breaking from the kiss as he moved up to the head of his bed, taking her with him. Now, he held both of her hands, and she didn’t stop kissing him as she climbed to straddle his lap.

He let go of her hands, one going to her waist, the other touching her face. Petal cupped his face, feeling his unshaven beard and not caring. Her lips would be red and swollen, but kissing him and tasting him would be worth it.

Petal traced her tongue across his lip, and as he opened his mouth, she slid hers inside to find his. Stroking his tongue with her own, she quickly retreated and Dirty followed her, deepening the kiss. The hand at her face slid down and the one at her waist moved up until he was cupping her breasts.

She cried out and in response he growled. His lips left hers and began to travel down her neck, licking at her pulse, sliding across that point on her neck. He bit down, nibbling her neck and then started to release the buttons of her shirt, opening them up. She whimpered.

The shirt she wore was torn off her body. Dirty must have gotten bored opening the buttons as he suddenly grabbed her shirt, splitting it wide. Next, he peeled the strap of her bra down her arm, followed by the second, and he flicked the catch at the back, allowing her breasts to spill out of the cups. It felt good to be free.

He growled, and then she felt his face pressed against her chest. He cupped her tits, pushing them together, and his mouth was on them. He kissed, nipped, sucked, and then took each nipple into his mouth.

Dirty sucked hard, making her cry out from the instant hit of pleasure that assaulted her. The pleasure went straight to her pussy, and she cried out his name, not wanting him to stop. It felt so good.

With her shirt off, she was still way overdressed and that would not do. Petal pulled away from him and climbed off the bed. She grabbed her shirt and dropped it to the floor.

Staring at him, she felt this new spark of adventure. She thought in the beginning, sneaking around with him would be fun and exciting, but this was even more exciting.

“Are you not going to take your clothes off?”

she asked.

“You want my clothes off?”

“You know I do.”

“Then you’re going to have to take them off me.”

Petal smiled and then watched him and decided to torture him a little more. Reaching for her button and zipper, she loosened her jeans and then began to wriggle out of them, making sure to put as much sway and swing into her actions as she could. She allowed her tits to bounce and swing, and then she kicked off the jeans. Now, she was only in a pair of socks and panties.

Sliding her fingers beneath the lace of the fabric, she slowly lowered them down and then stood. The socks came off with ease, as they were loose.

Now, it was time for her to attack Dirty.

Climbing onto the bed, she crawled toward him, reaching for the button and zipper of his jeans. She saw the hard ridge of his cock pressing against the front of his pants, and as she lowered the zipper she tried to be careful. It was not her fault he had a large and very impressive dick. A dick that was going to belong to her.

There was no turning back now, not for either of them. Petal knew they hadn’t learned their lesson the last time, as they were still not using condoms. She knew it was foolish, but she didn’t care.

With the zipper down, she tugged at his jeans, and this time Dirty did help her as she nearly dragged him off the bed. The jeans and boxer briefs were gone, and that only left his leather cut.

She got distracted for a second by the length and width of his large cock. He looked so thick, so ready, and she knew she wanted to taste him. He could take care of his leather cut and top.

She moved between this thighs and wrapped her fingers around his length. Their time before, she knew what he liked, knew he enjoyed her holding him tightly and using a little bit of teeth. He didn’t like her biting down on him. Glancing up, she saw that he was staring at her, waiting.

She worked from the base of the root up to the tip, then back down again. His pre-cum already leaked out of that tiny hole, coating the head of his cock. With her eyes on him, she took his cock between her lips, and she took the tip into her mouth. The moment she sucked on him, he let out a hiss, and she tightened her mouth around him. She didn’t use her teeth right away, coating his cock in her saliva.

Petal watched as he closed his eyes and groaned.

Sucking him into her throat, she worked her mouth over his cock, and once he was coated in her salvia, she began to use her teeth, not to cause pain but just to add that edge she knew he loved.

Dirty reached out and wrapped her hair around his fist, and then began to work her head over his cock, and she began to take him deeper. When he hit the back of her throat, she was close to gagging, but that didn’t stop her. Taking as much of his cock as she could, she pulled back, and all too soon Dirty moved her off his cock.

She didn’t get chance to ask him what was wrong as he took possession of her mouth. Petal had been so lost in sucking his cock that she hadn’t seen him remove his clothing, but now he was as naked as her.

He pressed her to the bed and spread her legs. His palm went to her pussy and he slid two fingers inside, and she cried out. His fingers were not even on the same level as his cock, but she felt him start to stretch her open, preparing her to take him.

Dirty stopped kissing her and then his tongue was at her clit. He held the lips of her sex open wide, and he started to stroke her nub, sliding over and back and forth, building her pleasure. She whimpered his name, and he growled against the lips of her sex. He added a third finger inside her, and he nipped at her clit, only to soothe out the pain with the flat of his tongue.

She wanted more. The pleasure was so intense, and Dirty knew her body, knew what she was capable of. Then, he threw her over the edge, and her orgasm took her completely by surprise. There was no way she could focus. The only sensation she had was pure, hot pleasure.

Dirty helped her ride that wave, and he pushed her over the edge, taking her to a peak she didn’t know she was capable of feeling.

The moment she couldn’t take any more, he stopped and she felt the hard tip of his cock pressing against her. She knew she should tell him to stop, to wear a condom, but she didn’t. Wrapping her arm around his neck, she pulled him down and kissed him. He growled against her lips and slammed balls-deep inside her.

They both cried out. The pleasure was intense, and she didn’t want him to stop.

He held onto her hip, and his other hand was pressed at the side of her head, and he drove inside her, pulled out, and slammed back within her. She cried out, feeling him hit a part of her that was so deep. He began to fuck her, hard and fast at first, but then he’d stop and slow his movements.

“I want this to last,”

he said. “I’m so fucking close.”

She groaned. “It feels so good. I want you, Dirty.”

He took possession of her lips and drove inside her for three more thrusts, and then she felt the hard pulse of his cock as he spilled all of his cum inside her.

“Did you ever want a house?”

Dirty asked, running his fingers down Petal’s naked back.

She was laid beside him, naked, the blanket only covering her ass, and looking sexy as she did so.

“Not really. The plan was always for Rosalie and I to get the hell out of town, away from it all, but she’d never leave her mom. You know all this,”

Petal said. “I recall telling you a lot.”

“You told me a lot, but you never said what the big plan was. You and Rosalie leaving town, I get that. Most kids want to leave the town where they were born and grew up. But what about after? Kids? A husband? Or was it just going to be you and Rosalie?” he asked.

Petal sighed. “I don’t know. We wanted to get away. At the time I didn’t know why Rosalie hated being here, but after meeting Daemon and learning everything … that is a lot of heavy stuff to put on a kid.”

Dirty hadn’t thought about it like that. It wasn’t like Deamon had disappeared until Rosalie was of age. According to what they knew, Daemon would make an appearance whenever it suited him and seeing as Gabrielle was the woman he wanted, he never truly left that woman alone. It was hard to think of a young girl like Leanna, similar in age, having to live with that. He suddenly had a whole new respect for Rosalie. She had put up with a lot.

“I think for me, I just wanted to get away from my parents and everyone. They were always great at having kids, but not taking care of them, but that has changed.”

Petal turned to look at him. “I have you to thank for that, don’t I?”

“I had to,”

Dirty said.

“And you don’t regret it?”

she asked.

“They’re taking care of you. There is nothing to regret.”

He stroked her cheek.

“My family,”

Petal said, raising up just a touch.

“Already taken care of,”

Dirty said. “You’ve not been spending a lot of time with them, and we’ve got guys keeping an eye. If we feel there is any threat, we’ll bring them to the club.”

“Thanks.”

Petal sighed. “They’re still my family.”

Dirty knew he couldn’t keep secrets from her. “I … uh, I’ve been helping them out.”

Petal frowned. “What do you mean?”

“I wanted to help them and in doing so, I also wanted to help you.”

“What did you do?”

Petal asked.

“I might have spoken to your father’s supervisor and gotten him that promotion, and also I might be paying them to give the money to you, to help them out.”

“Are you being serious right now?”

Petal asked.

She sat up and lifted the blankets to cover her body. This is why secrets had to be kept.

“I didn’t want you to go without, but also, your parents are not bad people. You’ve always said that.”

“But … you don’t need to keep giving them money.”

“I know, that’s why I stopped,”

Dirty said. “Any money they give you now is from them. They had a lot of debt and bills to cover. Your dad is capable of this promotion. Trust me.”

“Did he earn it?”

Petal asked.

“Yeah, he earned it. The company had gotten his loyalty straight out of high school. He’d worked his way up from the ground, and they refused to give him that final promotion and instead took asshole college kids that didn’t know the job, and were gone within six months. They needed someone in-house. I helped them see reason, that was all.”

Petal looked at him. “How do you have a say in a factory producing food?”

Dirty shrugged. “Let’s just say we like to invest in a lot of different areas, and not in the same jar.”

“You have shares?”

Dirty looked at Petal.

“Wow, you are a man of mystery.”

“Don’t thank me. Thank Fritz, it was his idea to start investing in certain local companies. Sometimes the payback isn’t large, but it is enough, you know.”

“I had no idea.”

“Not a lot of people know what we do. It was small, and it hasn’t brought us a lot, but it helps,”

Dirty said.

They had a lot of members, and some of them liked to spend money. Colt, for example, liked to invest his share of the profits. This is what Warden did. They had a club fund that helped the basic upkeep and running of the clubhouse, the bikes, and any bad shit that went down. If a member got hurt or killed, it came from the club. They would pay the medical costs, funeral costs, and help the family. They took their responsibilities seriously.

Anyone associated with the club got the benefits of the club. If someone was struggling, the club was there. That was the main fund. Then they had the funds that were divided equally between all members. Some spent it, gambled it away, partied, and others built a house or saved the money. Dirty saved his. He had no reason to buy a house, although he was looking to buy now that he had Petal.

He didn’t gamble, and he may as well drink club beer. His expenses were a minimum. The only money he’d spent was paying her family to pay Petal. He wanted her to have whatever her heart desired.

“What else don’t I know?”

“There’s nothing else to tell. Everything you know.”

He reached out and stroked a finger down her cheek.

“I don’t know, I reckon there is a lot about you I don’t know.”

He smiled. “All you’ve got to do is ask.”

“Have you ever owned a dog?”

Petal asked after a few seconds’ pause.

This made him laugh. “A dog?”

“Yeah, they’re cute and gorgeous and loyal, and so sweet.”

“No, I’ve never owned a dog.”

“Have you ever wanted a dog?”

“How about you answer my questions, the one about your future, unless you planned to stay with Rosalie?” he asked.

“There’s not much to tell. We didn’t really think that far ahead. I wanted to find a good job, maybe even create our own business or something. I wanted the security of a good income. I didn’t think about family or men, or anything like that. Sorry, I guess I was kind of boring. I didn’t plan a wedding or name kids, or think of my name mixed with a man’s. Sorry, I’m boring.”

“This is a good thing.”

“It is?”

“Yeah,”

he said, reaching out and pushing some of her hair off her shoulder.

“Tell me how my boring life is a good thing?”

He stroked her neck, wanting to pull her in his arms and kiss her. He held himself back and then pressed a kiss to the corner of her mouth.

“Because I don’t have to kill anyone who might have been a threat and taken you away from me.”

“Well, Dirty, forgive me if I’m wrong, but you sound a little jealous.”

“I am,” he said.

This made her pull away just slightly. “You are?”

“You and Myth, it drove me crazy seeing him close to you, watching you smile at him, how you used to do to me. Hated it.”

Petal smiled. “Is that why you told our little secret?”

“Yeah, it is. I was a dick that night. I didn’t want to hurt you but I think I was trying to remind you that you once belonged to me.”

“Dirty, I didn’t forget. Myth and I have a strange friendship, I know that. I don’t think either of us were expecting it, but he wanted to talk to someone that wasn’t a guy, and someone he knew wasn’t going to expect anything. There is nothing between us. I see him as a brother.”

She shrugged.

He stared at her and knew it was true. There was no sparkle between the two. It didn’t stop him from hating how easy it was between the two of them, how they were able to make it work. Myth had been able to cross that barrier when he’d not even come close, and it pissed him off.

“Are you trying to tell me you don’t want me and Myth to be friends?”

she asked.

Dirty did have to think about it. “No, it’s not about that, at least not now. I’ve got no problem with you and Myth being friends.”

“But?”

“What about us?”

Dirty asked.

Petal smiled at him. “You want there to be an us?”

“I think I have proven more than once that I very much would like there to be an us.”

He loved that smile on her lips. “But I get it if you’re not ready.”

She sighed and before he even realized what was happening, she had pressed him to the bed and moved to straddle his waist. He didn’t fight her because her pussy was so close to his cock, and that was exactly where he wanted her to be.

“Dirty, you’re testing my patience, one strand at a time. Do you think I’m a club whore?”

she asked.

He gripped her thighs, hard. The truth was, he just wanted to touch her, anywhere he could get his hands on.

“No!”

There was no way he would ever think of her as a whore, and he certainly didn’t like the thought of anyone else sharing her. He didn’t even want to think of Myth, Ox, Crow, any of the brothers getting near her. He’d kill them all, and in that moment, he understood Daemon, just a smidge. The guy was a monster, and instead of taking his time to win Gabrielle or to even allow her to fall in love with him, he took what was not his. The man had been crazy in love with her, in his own way.

Not that he was excusing the guy’s behavior. The man was an evil fucker true to the core, and putting him down had been the best thing for the club and the world. It was a lot safer place, that was for sure.

“Do you think I would just randomly sleep with men?”

Petal asked.

“No.”

“Do you think I’m easy to get into bed?”

“Fuck, no.”

“Then tell me how you and I are here, if we’re not … making this work?”

Dirty sat up, cupped her face, and stared into her beautiful eyes. She was stunning, and he wanted her. So desperately.

And then, he kissed her hard. Sliding one of his hands back to sink into her hair as he took possession of her lips. He growled against her lips. This woman was his. All his, and he wasn’t going to let her go. Not a second time. The first time was bad enough.

Petal suddenly pulled away. “This is not some deal, is it? You haven’t agreed with Colt to keep me busy or doing a favor for Warden, or Kim, or Rosalie?”

“Fuck, no. I have learned my lesson. This is real. This is all me, and all us.”

Petal stroked his face. “Good, because I don’t want to be hurt like that again. I don’t want to be hurt ever again. Please don’t hurt me.”

He saw the grief in her eyes. “Never. I will never hurt you. I can’t guarantee I won’t piss you off along the way. You may even want to cut my balls off and feed them to the dog we’re going to get.”

Petal gasped. “We’re getting a dog?”

“I think it is only fair, and while we’re at it, I think it is time we looked for a place, don’t you?”

“I already have a place.”

“It belongs to Rosalie, and besides, we need to start making memories, and if we’re living together, it means I can take you to school and bring you back.”

“I have a car.”

“Yeah, but imagine it, your biker boyfriend taking you home?”

He winked at her. “Come on, that has to be some street cred or something?”

Petal giggled. “You’re insane, but I am not going to lie, I do kind of like that. However, it is going to be night school. I’m not going to sacrifice my time at the diner for school. I want to … invest in my future.”

“Are you sure you want the diner?”

he asked. “I know if there is something else you wanted, we could find anything for you.”

He’d do anything. Even buy whatever she needed or wanted.

Petal stroked his cheek. “No, I’m happy at the diner, and trust me, I didn’t think I was ever going to say those words and mean them. It’s cool. I love it there, and that’s where I want to stay. Besides, Rosalie was telling me that we are turning a profit, and much faster than you, Warden, and the guys were expecting.”

“We didn’t anticipate everyone has to eat.”

“And Burto is proving to be a much better chef than Al ever was. It’s all good. Of course, having moments like this where we’re in some kind of lockdown doesn’t exactly help business.”

“It’s just temporary.”

“And what happens if nothing … happens? What are you guys waiting for?”

Dirty paused. This was club business and he couldn’t talk to her about that, not really. The truth was, they were laying low, hoping for Fritz to come around so they had something to go on.

So far, they had nothing but the Evil Fuckers MC and a ghost going by the name Diablo, and that wasn’t even concrete. The only connection they had to any of this was Fritz, and the man was in a coma. No one knew when he was going to wake up. It was just a waiting game.

“With what happened to Fritz, and then Colt’s place, we can’t risk it. We unite, hold the fort, and then we attack.”
