Chapter Six #2

Aubrey closed her eyes as his tongue and chemical agent caused a fire in her blood that had her hips rocking with every slow stroke.

She felt her body rushing to climax and let it go.

The hoarse scream rang in her own ears as she arched, and her clit throbbed while her sex tightened around his fingers.

He lapped at her until she groaned and twitched then slumped. She drew in deep breaths, and he lifted his head, his lips shining.

“Aubrey, I am shocked.” He moved over her and kissed her neck, jaw, and then her lips.

“Shocked, Vress?”

“If my people had known about yours earlier, there wouldn’t be any of the companion class left.”

She shrugged. “There isn’t any left on Earth now. The real thing to think about is that Ra was there for thousands of years. Now we are in space, and most of the ladies in a bulk bond were never tested. Testing them after the bond is paid off is tricky. They literally don’t have to go in.”

He grinned. “But I have you.”

“You do.”

“And you are a perfect consort.”

“Thank you.”

“So, now, do I want to bite you and start your adaptation into a Hmrain consort before dinner, or do I want to play a bit more and then spend the next few days learning every inch of you?”

“Both sound good.”

He laughed and coaxed her into a kiss that brought a taste of her own sex along with the sensitizing agent in his saliva. She squirmed and clutched at him in desperation.

He settled between her thighs and took his own meal from her inner thigh. She screamed, locked her fingers in his hair, and rode out the waves of enjoyment coming from the bite as he drank with slow, fluttering suction.

Aubrey shivered and eventually slumped on the bedding. Vress lifted his head and smiled. “This is going to work very well.”

She got her breathing under control. “I am very happy for you.”

He laughed and moved up her body, cuddling her and covering her with his wing. He still had his lower body covered, so she wasn’t going to waddle into the captain’s dinner.

He murmured that she needed to rest, and he was going to hold her while she rested.

She hadn’t been put down for a nap since she was four years old, but he kissed her forehead, and she let a warm, white cloud of unconsciousness move over her.

Vress looked down at the new consort he was holding under. It took some doing; she was strong, but she needed more rest than she had been getting, and he was going to make sure she spent enough time in bed.

There was a soft scratch at the door, and he murmured authorization. Aubrey’s wardrobe was carried in and installed in the wardrobe he had ready for her. He kept Aubrey covered under his wing until the crew were gone, and then he looked at her sleeping features.

She had straight, fine features and short dark hair that he wanted addressed when they reached a station that could manage it. Perhaps Aten had such a unit. He wanted her hair wound with gems and long enough to wrap in his fists.

Her ears were pointed as his were, and as he looked her over, he smirked; they would make adorable children if they managed to conceive.

Not in two thousand years did he think a consort would smite him, but there was no doubt that this woman, less than two weeks of her damaged world, was going to be his focus for quite some time. He grinned and smoothed hair away from her cheek. He was rather looking forward to it.

He was going to have to send the designers something nice if this worked out.

Aubrey jolted awake, as she always did, to see Vress up on one elbow looking at her with intense focus. “Um, hello.”

He grinned. “Do you feel rested?”

“I... yes. Thank you. Have you been watching me?”

“Yes. I was looking for any birthmarks, but you have none. No scarring either.”

“The repair unit went over me from head to toe. It removed every scar, fixed my teeth, and took care of calluses.”

“And did nothing for your hair?”

“I cut the hair afterward.”

“Why?”

“Because my sister had used our resemblance to each other our entire lives to declare that her actions were mine. Our parents were no longer with us; I didn’t care to be associated with her after she left me for dead, so I made us different in a way that could be seen from a distance.

I didn’t know how tall I was going to grow.

That took care of the differences right there. ”

He tensed. “Left you for dead?”

“Yes. Tied me to a vehicle in the elements with no food or water, my neck against steel.”

His voice got velvety. “Where is this sibling now?”

“In a five-year companion contract for one of Eliana’s grandsons. Eliana agreed not to allow them to offer renewal until the fourth child is born.”

He frowned. “The permanent contract is usually offered after the first.”

“I know. She will have twenty years of being with a good man and mild embarrassment, as well as social ostracism. She will survive it, and then she will settle as a consort to an overseer.”

“I see. That is something.”

“You really wanted to smack her around.”

He looked at her smile and nodded. “The thought of you sad or in danger is not something I am comfortable with.”

She blushed. “That is... sudden.”

“It is, but it doesn’t feel awkward.” He trailed fingers over her cheek. “We should change for dinner. You have been asleep for hours.”

“Oh. Sorry.”

“Don’t be. Sleeping in the station where you can feel your people calling you is difficult.”

“Is that what that was?”

“Yes, but there were millions of them. You could not rest. Now, come and take a shower so that you may look lively and beautiful for the dinner.”

“Is it important?”

“It is part of the personal presentation part of the contract.” He trailed his fingers across her jaw and down her neck.

She eased away from him, and he grinned. She muttered, “I am going to take that shower. Any preference for my clothing?”

“I will have something for you after your shower.”

“Hm. Very well, Vress.” She got off the bed, straightened her legs, walked across the room, and went into the bathing room.

The sonic shower took care of any exterior stickiness, and her hair fluffed out a little.

Her waist had finger-grip marks, and her thighs had racing stripes. She looked at the punctures on her inner thigh, and there were two specific pink marks. They had started. That much was easy to see.

She steeled herself and walked into the room where Vress was standing with a dress draped over his arm. She blushed. It was the one that was Vress’s colours. She had ordered it with whimsy.

He smiled. “I see you anticipated me.”

“Well, yes. You were the only one in my mind, so I looked up consorts, and they are very often dressed in matching clothing.”

“That is true. This looks appropriate for dinner. Do you need help getting into it?”

“I think I can manage it.”

He smiled. “I will change, but if I finish before you, I am helping.”

She rolled her eyes, reached for the dress, and blinked. “Everything has been hooked or tightened.”

“Really? Fancy that.”

He grinned, walked over to his wardrobe, and began casually selecting clothing.

She fought the dress and had just gotten the last closure open when his arms wrapped around her from behind. “It appears you need assistance.”

Aubrey huffed. “You did not play fair.”

“Oh, I did. I played by Hmrain rules. I could have shackled you to the bed and taken my shower leisurely and then mocked you a little. However, I am in a very good mood and am good-natured by my history. My people will prove it.” He leaned in and whispered, “Your temple is already under construction, right next to my residence.”

“My... oh.”

She sighed. “So are you going to help with this, or are we having dinner here, standing up?”

He chuckled and began to move fast. He pushed her arms up, slipped the layers of fabric over her head, and when the front was all in place, he began to tie and fasten all of the small connections that gave the dress its shape.

The floaty handkerchiefs were all connected but floated.

When she moved, they lifted and slowly lowered.

Vress turned her and looked down. “Still covering too much, but lovely. Red and silver suits you.”

“Well, it’s a good thing. I think I am going to be wearing a lot of it.”

He nodded seriously. “The oracle is wise as well as beautiful.”

“Hm.”

He grinned. “Shall we?”

“Can I grab my tablet?”

“No.”

She grimaced. “I feel naked without it, like there is something I can do with it, but I don’t know what it is yet.”

“Not tonight. Tonight, you have your first dinner as my consort.”

She paused and looked at him with narrowed eyes as they left his quarters and went for a walk through the ship. She was five minutes out when she realized she had forgotten her shoes.

She sighed and shook her head.

“Problem, Aubrey?”

“Forgot my shoes.”

He asked, “Are you all right?”

“Yes, but remind me to wash my feet before bed.”

He laughed. “Your feet won’t touch the sheets.”

She blinked and blushed. “Ah. Right.”

“But a crewman will be sent to retrieve some shoes for you, and we will work out some form of penalty for the inconvenience of you needing a courier for your footwear.”

She looked at his smirk. “You could have set the shoes out with the dress. That’s what the dressers at the station did.”

“I am Overlord Vress, scourge of several systems, master of design, and lover of the oracle. I don’t have time to remember shoes.”

She blushed crimson. “So you forgot them as well.”
