Chapter 14 #2

I glanced at myself. I wasn’t so sure about pretty, not right now at least. Red, abused, glistening, and shrinking by the second.

Asher, on the other hand. With his sexy tan, his own coloring was darker, nearly purple.

Veins standing in relief against his onslaught.

Cut like me, decent length, and a girth I wanted to choke on.

Precome beaded at his tip and was quickly whisked away to join mine.

“Fuck, keep staring, Luke.”

“Can I touch you?”

“Too late. Fuck.” Asher tipped his head back, hitting the passenger window hard and groaning as his own load spurted high into the air, then a few more times over his stomach, and drizzling over his knuckles. “Shiiit.”

He heaved a slow, tired breath, then snickered. We sat with our dicks out, staring at each other as we held in our louder emotions.

“Got any napkins?” he asked.

“No.”

Asher carefully removed his hoodie, then his T-shirt, and used it to clean off.

Instead of handing it to me to use, he leaned over and wiped me off himself, then tucked me into my pants.

I had no words to explain the threatening tears.

They were happy ones, maybe a little relieved, and in awe of the man who sat beside me, who’d guided me through to the end.

“I swear I hadn’t come here expecting that,” he said. I blinked, waiting, hoping he’d continue, that he hadn’t regretted it.

Asher kissed me. “You’re just so irresistible.”

Heat bloomed in my face, and I lowered my chin. “Maybe next time, we can do this out of the public eye.”

“No promises.” He sat back, dropped his T-shirt on the floorboard, and pulled his hoodie over his head. “You just give me this look, and I know what you need,” he added, stuffing his arms into the sleeves.

“I do not. What look?”

He shrugged. “I dunno. This thing with your eyes and lips.”

“What? Smile?”

After a silent pause, we both laughed.

“Maybe.” Asher clawed through his hair. “Shit, maybe that’s all it takes.”

I reached for his hand and laced his fingers with mine.

“I don’t know how to date, and I don’t want to screw this up.

” I glanced at him, hoping he couldn’t see how unsure of myself I was with this.

“The second you hate hiding, tell me. Talk to me. I never want to hold you back from the life you want.”

Asher squeezed my hand. “I get it. With anything new, we have to work at it and make mistakes until we get it right.”

I huffed. “God, you’re amazing.”

“I know.”

I shook my head. All of this was so unbelievable. “So why the hell were you dressed like a woman that night?”

Asher threw his head back and laughed. The line of his jaw and the cords in his neck called to my tongue, but I refrained. We’d have another moment. And I really did hope it was somewhere private.

“Oh my God,” he said. “It was a bad idea that somehow went all kinds of right.”

We sat there in the parking lot for another hour as Asher regaled me with his innate storytelling ability. He told me about Savannah, the cousin I’d sort of met, the bet, and the reason he kept showing up to all of these events.

Perhaps it was his pronounced accent or his animation or the way he lit from within.

Who knew. Who cared. I was enchanted all the same, with no hope of remembering the names of every cousin he mentioned but wanting to meet them one day.

When we finally parted ways with a chaste peck and a promise to talk soon, I was still snickering.

Soon came later that same day. I had gone home and changed clothes to work out. William didn’t mind the last-minute notice and met me at the gym. He asked about my good mood, but all I said was that I’d been sleeping better. A lie, because I hadn’t but figured I would be.

As soon as I was home and separating laundry, my phone pinged.

Ash

I swear I won’t be obnoxious or anything, but I didn’t really ask about texting. Do you hate it? Should I not say anything too private? Testing my limits, I guess.

You’re fine, and say whatever you like. No one has access to my phone but me.

I dropped the phone on my bed, but it lit up with another message immediately.

Ash

So if I said how sexy your dick is, you don’t mind?

I bit away a grin, then turned and sat on the edge of my bed.

I don’t mind.

Ideas burned in my brain. Teasing words and sexting I’d never been able to partake in suddenly overloaded me. What did I say in return? Was this flirting? Was he expecting something sexy from me?

Ash

Good. Your ass looks amazing in those slacks too, btw. I thought I hated your snooty britches, but they’re growing on me.

Snooty britches? I laughed and shook my head.

Hmm, if I didn’t know better, I’d say someone was trying to provoke me into a reaction.

Ash

You don’t know better then, because that’s exactly what I’m doing.

What are you doing right now?

The provocative chore of laundry.

Ash

I’m currently staring at my own pile of clothes and wondering if any of it smells good enough to wear again.

I settled my elbows on my knees. He really was nineteen. Was I out of my mind?

Lol. That’s not exactly how I’m doing it.

Ash

Oh I know. You’re probably throwing it into bags for the dry cleaners.

Some of it.

A picture came through next, and my eyes bugged as my breath caught in my throat. A hand, I assumed Asher’s, held a pair of black lace panties, and the caption read: “Delicates or hand wash?”

When did you wear those?

Ash

Would a better question be: when will I wear them again?

I palmed my mouth and lower jaw, sexual fantasies wakening with a few texts.

I’ll never look at this chore the same way again.

Ash

Mission accomplished.

I lay back and grinned like a fool. Asher was a handful I’d be chasing after for a while before I could manage an equal footing.

I hoped he didn’t get bored as I sifted through this closet I’d forced us into.

Perhaps I’d never kiss him on a crowded sidewalk, but I could at least make sure he was happy and satisfied in private.

You’re very bold, and I like that. I hope you keep telling me what you like and pushing me in these ways. I need it.

Ash

Always. Unfortunately, I don’t know how to be anything other than myself. Even Ashley was all me.

And the very reason I was so drawn to her.

Ash

Flirt.

Seducer.

Ash

Guilty. Have a good night, Luke.

Good night.
