Chapter 19
RAELYNN
Raelynn screamed as she was lifted into the air.
“Daddy!” she yelled when the door slammed open.
Daddy’s eyes were wild as he looked around the room, trying to find the threat before they landed on her.
“Put her down,” Daddy growled.
Reaper walked over, handed her to Daddy, before rushing over and extinguishing the fire.
“How the fuck did a fire start?” Deccan asked as he ran into the room, straight toward Echo.
Raelynn clung to Daddy as Reaper stomp on the last embers. Guilt ate her up she stared at the now-ruined chair.
“It was only a small fire. I don’t know how it got so big,” she whispered. “We thought it would stay small.”
“Little Fairy, what happened?” Daddy asked.
“The package said it was going to be little,” Raelynn mumbled. “I didn’t think it was going to grow.”
Daddy sat down and placed her on his lap so she was facing him, cupping her face with his hands to hold her attention.
“Little Fairy, I need you to listen to Daddy. Can you do that?” he asked.
“I’m sorry,” she said, her voice cracking.
“What happened?” Deccan questioned. “Do either one of you want to answer us?”
“Reaper, what happened?” Daddy asked.
“She got a package, and I went to get them water since they were thirsty. The package said it was from Levi, but when I walked in, I knew he wouldn’t have sent it,” Reaper explained.
“What was it?” Deccan inquired.
“A play set that you could burn and it would turn into something different,” Raelynn explained. “I’ve used one several years ago, and they are so cool. I thought Levi had bought me one and knew that I liked them. But the flames weren’t supposed to get that big so quickly.”
She shuddered in fear as she remembered the fire getting out of control.
“I quickly dropped it onto the chair, and the flames grew much bigger,” she whispered.
Raelynn could just imagine how bad the flames would have been if she hadn’t screamed when Reaper came back into the room.
“I’ll buy you a new chair,” she said as she looked at Deccan.
“I don’t care about it. Are both of you okay?” he asked.
Daddy pushed her away from him, and his gaze raked over her body, trying to see if she had anything wrong with her.
“I’m okay,” she whispered.
“Let Daddy check you over,” he gruffed.
Raelynn stayed still as Daddy moved her around, looking at her body. If anyone asked her, he was being excessive, but that was just how Daddy was.
“I’m really okay,” she grumbled. “Nothing happened to me. If anything, it would be my hands since I was holding it.”
“Oh my! I completely forgot. Are you okay?” Echo asked. “I got so scared. I’m so sorry for being the worst friend ever.”
Shocked, Raelynn stared at her as she clung to Deccan, bawling her eyes out.
“You aren’t a bad friend,” Deccan whispered.
“Show me your hands,” Daddy commanded as he pulled her attention back to him. “Daddy wants to see your hands.”
“They’re okay,” she whined. “They don’t hurt. I dropped it before anything could.”
Daddy raised his eyebrow, and she moved her hands to his. Daddy took his time looking over every inch of her hands.
“They are a little red,” Daddy commented as he ran his fingers over her palm. “Does it hurt?”
Rae shook her head. “Not at all.”
“I think we should ice them for a while and then put some cooling gel and wrap them up. I don’t want you doing anything with your hands for at least two days,” Daddy said.
“So I can’t give you a blowjob tonight?” she asked.
Reaper coughed, and Raelynn ducked. She hadn’t meant to say that out loud. It had been her goal to give him one tonight.
“Oh my goodness,” she whispered. “I can’t believe I just said that. Pretend you didn’t hear anything,” she begged everyone.
“Didn’t think I would ever hear Raelynn say that,” Reaper said. “Don’t think I wanted to hear her say that, either.”
“Just pretend that you didn’t hear it!” she wailed. “I can’t believe I said that. Oh my. Daddy, take me out of here.”
“No, we still need to talk about what happened. Reaper, Deccan, and Echo are going to forget that they heard anything you said, and we’re going to move,” Daddy stated.
“Is that why you were ask—”
“Echo!” Raelynn’s eyes went wide as she stared at her.
“That’s why you guys were in the corner to begin with,” Reaper muttered.
“Stop!” Rae screamed. “Just stop. I can’t do this.”
Daddy cupped her face. “We are going to stop talking about this. Now, can you tell me who knew about liking this play set?”
Raelynn’s face was beet red as she kept her focus on Daddy. She knew when Echo and she were alone, she was going to ask about taking it a step forward in their relationship, and she wasn’t ready.
“Focus on me,” Daddy commanded. “Who else knows about you liking them?”
Raelynn tried to think back. “I don’t know. I tried to keep it a secret. You didn’t even know about it. Well, they actually came out the year you left, and I got one then. It’s just a wooden thing that burns and turns into a different creation.”
“I’m sorry I couldn’t buy you some, but now Daddy knows,” he gently said.
“I didn’t get any while I was with him cause it was fire, and I didn’t know what he would do.
They aren’t lit for long. Once it changes to the different scenery, the fire goes out,” Raelynn explained.
“I got two in my senior year, but then I moved in with him, and I didn’t have any money to buy any more.
I didn’t dare tell him, either. Didn’t need him getting any ideas. ”
She shuddered at the thought. The first time she’d told Edmund that she liked something, he had twisted it and made sure she didn’t like it any longer. After that, she didn’t tell him a single thing for fear that he would ruin everything in her life.
“But could he have found out?” Daddy asked. “What happened to your stuff when you moved in with him?”
“He locked it up in a room in his house, and that was it. Sometimes, he would bring things out of the room, but most of the time, I didn’t get to see it,” Raelynn said.
“Everything that I had from you is in that room, I think. He got rid of a lot of things when he realized they were gifts from you. Didn’t like that I was still in love with you. He wanted me for himself.”
Daddy wrapped his arms around her, and she snuggled into his chest.
“You’re not his. You’re mine. I’m not going to allow him to do anything to you,” Daddy said.
“So, it’s a possibility that he knew about these,” Reaper pointed out.
Raelynn pulled away from Daddy, her eyes wide as she looked at him, fearful. “He knows where I am.”
Everything sounded like she was underwater, muffled and so far away as people started to talk to her. Edmund knew where she was. He was coming for her. He was going to hurt the people who she had become friends with.
“I need to leave,” she said, trying to get off Daddy’s lap. “I need to leave Springfield and go somewhere else, away from you guys. He’s going to hurt you.”
Daddy was talking, but she couldn’t understand a word he was saying. This was the end. She knew it was going to catch up to her at some point, and today was the day.
“I didn’t get a long time with you,” she whispered. “I’m sorry.”
His lips continued to move, but she couldn’t hear a word. Everything around her slowly started to get darker, and before she knew it, everything went black.
