Chapter 27

RAELYNN

Raelynn told them everything about Butch and her, leaving out all the private information. The girls all asked a million questions.

“Are you really not going to give us any intimate details?” Rainey asked. “You don’t have to be shy about it. We talk about what we want to do with our Daddies and how we are going to go about it.”

“Not everyone is as comfortable talking about it as you. Remember when you weren’t comfortable about it?” Echo pointed out. “Maybe that’s how Raelynn is right now.”

“I honestly don’t think I’m ever going to get used to it.

It’s just something for the both of us that I think, for me personally, should stay between us.

I mean, I’m happy to talk about like dreams and what you guys want, but I don’t know,” Raelynn mumbled.

“I just don’t think I’ll ever get really used to talking about what happens between me and Daddy.

It seems more special this time, and I don’t know if I want to let that go and tell everyone. ”

It was a lot different from when they were in high school. Even though they had done things in high school and loved each other, there was just something special and even more intimate about it this time.

“And that’s okay,” Demi said. “I don’t think I could ever give details about what went on with me and my Daddy, if I get one.”

Raelynn’s phone went off and she pulled it out of her pocket, a smile spreading across her face.

“Your Daddy messaging you?” Echo asked.

“Yeah, give me one second. I need to reply before three minutes are up and he comes looking for me,” Raelynn explained. “Can’t believe he still gave me a time limit.”

“It’s better than the minute I have,” Echo said.

“My Daddy just calls me. If I don’t pick up by the second ring, he hangs up and calls someone else he knows is with me to make sure I’m okay.

” Rainey chuckled. “Which I don’t understand because when I have Levi with me sometimes I physically can’t answer the phone, but he doesn’t care.

He will call someone else to make sure that I’m okay. ”

“It’s because he cares about you. I mean you do have the baby…”

The conversation drifted off as Raelynn read his text message.

Daddy

Is everything going okay?

Raelynn

Yes, everything is fine. We are having a good time and haven’t left the coffee shop yet.

Daddy

Do you need me to come get you, or are you okay with being there?

Raelynn

I’m okay. Not overwhelmed yet, but I think we’ll have to leave soon anyway. Everyone is getting text messages, so it probably won’t last as long.

Raelynn

I miss you.

Raelynn

I don’t really like being away from you for so long.

Daddy

Little Fairy.

Raelynn giggled and placed her phone on the table.

“I need to go,” Rainey said. “Daddy wants me back home since I technically wasn’t supposed to be here. I’m in trouble.”

“Good luck,” Echo said, laughed.

Demi and Raelynn said goodbye before turning to each other.

“I need to get ready for my shift at the bar,” Demi said.

The three of them rose out of their chairs and left the café.

“Let me text my Daddy and say we’ll be walking her home and then back to the clubhouse,” Raelynn said.

“Oh, you don’t nee—”

Her words were cut off when someone covered her mouth.

“Demi!” Raelynn screamed as arms wrapped around her.

“Shut up, Bitch,” a man growled in her ear.

“Reaper!” she yelled.

Her eyes fell onto Demi and Echo, who were slumped against Springfield Sinner men. She kicked her feet back, trying to get the man in the balls but something fell over her mouth right as she took a deep breath in and everything went black.

“Raelynn,” someone whispered. “Please don’t be dead. I don’t know what they’ll do with me if you’re dead.”

She moaned, her head thumping with her heartbeat.

“Oh, Rae!” The person’s voice got louder. “Wake up for me. I think they’re going to come back soon, and I need you to wake up. I don’t want you to get hurt while you’re asleep. Please.”

Raelynn blinked several times, everything blurry and dark. What was going on? Where were they? What happened?

“Oh, thank goodness,” she whispered. “I’m Demi, remember me? We were at the coffee shop, but now we are in… I don’t know where. Everything went black when we walked out of the coffee shop, and I don’t remember anything else.”

She moved her head to the right to find Demi sitting against the wall, her hands tied in front of her.

“Demi,” she murmured.

“That’s me. I don’t know what happened to Echo or even if they brought her here. They haven’t mentioned her. Once I woke up, there was no one else but us,” she explained.

Raelynn glanced around the dark room, trying to make out something else, anything else. But it was empty.

“When did they say they were going to be back?” Rae asked.

Demi shrugged. “They didn’t say, and I don’t know how long it’s been. There’s no clock, and they took all our stuff.”

“Don’t worry. Butch will know something is wrong when I don’t contact him. I just hope nothing happened to Reaper…” She trailed off.

She couldn’t think about the possibilities of what had happened to him. He could be dead, or he could be okay, but she couldn’t worry about that right now. She would figure out what was wrong with him if they got rescued. No, when they got rescued.

“They’ll know when I don’t turn up for my shift. I’m never late, and I’ve never missed a shift, either,” Demi explained. “We’re going to be okay.”

“Right. Everything is going to be okay,” she lied.

There was no way to know whether they were going to be okay or not. Raelynn closed her eyes and focused on her breathing. If living with Edmund had taught her one thing, it was to not panic in any situation. Not until she really had a reason for panicking.

They didn’t know who took them, but she already knew, deep down, it was Edmund.

“How are you not freaking out?” Demi asked.

But before Realynn could answer, light filled the room as the door opened and a man walked in. Time stood still as she saw the person’s face.

Edmund.

His six foot frame towered over her. The look on his face was one of anger and wickedness, like he had so many ideas running through his head of what he was going to do to her to make her suffer.

“Do you know how long I have been looking for you?” he asked. “Do you know how many men I had to hire to find you?”

She kept quiet, knowing he didn’t want her to answer.

“At first, I looked into Butch and the Springfield Sinners because I knew you would go back to him, but none of my men saw you around the club, so I had to look elsewhere,” he explained.

“But I should have known. I should have known you would he would have kept you a secret. That was, until you had surgery.”

She sucked in a breath. Raelynn should have known that registering the surgery under her real name would have alerted him. She had wanted to use a fake name, but to be under Daddy’s insurance for the rest of her life, she needed to use her real name.

“But we didn’t catch the surgery charge until almost a month later. You’re hard to find when you have people who care about you, but not hard enough,” he said as he bent down in front of her. “You didn’t even try to hide yourself. Did Butch not know you were on the run?”

The corner of her eye she saw Demi looking at her, worried. This was Raelynn’s worst nightmare. Daddy had told her that Edmund wasn’t going to be able to get her. That she was going to fine, and he would catch him. But she should have known that he would find her, regardless.

Edmund was well connected.

“No, that isn’t true. He had one of his guys follow you to the coffee shop,” Edmund said. “Did you really think one man would be enough to keep you safe from me?”

She locked eyes with him, and he smiled. A wicked smile, full of so much hatred.

“I thought you were smarter than that. You should have known that one man wouldn’t be enough, especially a man who wasn’t close to you,” he continued.

“A man who was very diligent in what he was doing, looking after you, but he never suspected one of my men. He looked too ordinary, like a townsperson, and before he knew it, he was out like a light.”

“Is he alive?” she couldn’t help but ask.

Edmund chuckled. “You care for him?”

She shook her head, a clear lie. “He’s an innocent person. I don’t know him that well.”

“Are you lying to me?” he asked. “If I find out that you’re lying to me, you can say goodbye to your cochlear implant.”

“I’m not lying. I promise. I really don’t know him that well, but he’s an innocent person who shouldn’t get hurt. You know I’ve never changed my view on things like that,” she tried to soothe him.

“When I saw that you got a cochlear implant, I went through a range of emotions. But then I realized I could easily remove your external processor and render you deaf, like before. Oh, the games I could play with you. The sweet torture I could inflict and watch every emotion flash across your face. The tiny flinches when you think you hear something but you don’t.

” Edmund licked his lips as he looked up and down her body.

“You can’t do that!” Demi yelled.

“And who said I can’t? You?” he asked as he turned his attention toward her.

Warning. Warning.

“She didn’t mean it. She really doesn’t know what she’s talking about. You can do whatever you want to me, as long as you leave her alone. She’s an innocent person,” Raelynn quickly said in an attempt to get Edmund to focus on her.

Demi didn’t know how evil he could be. She didn’t realize that having his attention on her wasn’t good at all.

“You can just let her go. You don’t need her. You just want me,” Rae begged. “Come on. She isn’t even your type. She would just give in and not fight. You would get bored of her quickly.”

“Raelynn!” Demi raised her voice.

Shooting her a glare quickly, Raelynn turned back to Edmund. She needed to do whatever she could to get Demi out safely. Maybe then she would have a fighting chance of Daddy finding her. That was only if Demi was alive.

“Are you telling me what to do?” Edmund asked.

Raelynn shook her head. “No, Edmund. I would never dare to tell you what to do. It was merely a suggestion since I know what you like.”

Oh, she knew exactly what she liked, and it was her.

No matter what she did, it always revolved around her.

Raelynn had tried not fighting back for a week, and he decided that it was more fun to play with her when she didn’t make a fuss, so she tried defending herself.

But no matter what, he had his attention on her and no one else.

Edmund stood up to his full height and nodded. “You do know what I like.”

“Just let her go alive,” Raelynn said.

“Fine,” he finally said. “I’ll let her go alive, but she won’t remember anything, so don’t expect her help you.”

“I never thought that way,” she whispered. “I know she wouldn’t be able to do anything.”

Demi knew the town better. Maybe she could figure out where they were and tell Daddy.

“Good,” he said and turned toward Demi.

“You can’t do this, Raelynn!” Demi yelled as she locked eyes with her. “What about you? Why are you doing this?”

“Because I’m right where I want to be.”

Lie.

Demi shook her head. “No, don’t say that. You don’t mean it. You were so happy with Butch, from what everyone said. You love him.”

Edmund faced Raelynn. “You love him?”

“No, I don’t,” she calmly said, not wanting to raise any suspicion. “When we were in high school, I did, but I don’t love him any longer. It’s always been you.”

“Right. I don’t know why I second-guessed you. You’ve been my little whore this whole time, and you love it. My personal punching bag.” He chuckled.

“Raelynn, don’t do this. They’ll find us. They’ll get us out of this. You just need to hold on a little longer,” Demi pleaded.

She shook her head slowly. “I’m right where I want to be.”

She needed to stop talking before Edmund changed his mind and kept her here for the rest of their lives.

“Rae—” but she couldn’t finish the sentence when Edmund raised a bat and hit her in the side of the head, knocking her out.
