Chapter 30
RAELYNN
Edmund’s doctor friend had come to visit her twice. Raelynn didn’t know how much time had passed. It felt like an eternity, but at the same time it felt like he just left to quickly get something. Either way, the darkness surrounding her wasn’t doing her any favors.
The doctor, whose name she still didn’t know, had looked her over the first time to make sure nothing was wrong before leaving. The second time, he had asked her several questions. Was she on birth control? When was the last time she’d had a period? When was the last time she’d had sex?
But then he asked her questions about whether she was still allergic to penicillin or mangoes. He wanted to know if she had any dietary preferences. He also wanted to know what she was afraid of and what she would do to prevent it from happening to her.
Raelynn was smart. She hadn’t given him any answers, which didn’t make him happy at all, but she was going to live with the consequences.
She didn’t know what they were going to do with that information, and she didn’t want to give them fuel to harm her.
It all made sense logically. Daddy would be super proud of her if he knew what she had done.
Sniffling, she curled in on herself as she thought of Daddy. He still hadn’t found her, and she was worried.
“He’s not coming.” Edmund walked into the room. “Butch isn’t coming to save you this time. Why would he, when he just found out that you’ve been tainted?”
Her eyebrows furrowed at his words. Tainted? Nothing had happened to her. The doctor had only come in to ask her several questions.
“He doesn’t know that’s a lie, but he’s not going to come and save you. Who would want someone that they think is tainted by a ground of men? I think I would be the only one to take you in. It’s because I’m not too picky. I know that you only really enjoy it,” Edmund said.
He was now kneeling in front of her, full-on taunting her, knowing she wouldn’t be able to do a thing.
“I do have several people who want to have a go,” he said.
“But I won’t give you to them unless they’re willing to pay a pretty penny.
You’ve got to earn your keep around here.
With you gone for the last couple of months, I didn’t have my fun.
My friends didn’t have their fun, either.
Seeing your pretty soft skin marred with my bruises and cuts. ”
Raelyn hated every time his friends came over.
Every single one of them knew that he was harming her, yet none of them did anything.
Which only meant they had the same twisted mind as him.
The same sick desires. But each time they came over, he would make her come out in her bra and panties so they could see his masterpiece, as Edmund liked to call it.
Each time was different: the number of bruises he gave her before they came. Sometimes he would even allow them to watch as he hurt her. Raelynn would hear them cheer him on, telling him to hit certain parts or how long a cut should be.
All she ever felt was pain. One time she had snuck pain medicine and a sleeping pill to try and knock herself out before they came over so she wouldn’t have to feel anything, but Edmund’s doctor friend had helped her fight off the sleeping fills, so she was still awake.
Edmund had made it worse that time.
He didn’t like the fact Rae had tried to take the fun out of everything.
“Hmm, I don’t think you’re listening to me,” he hummed. “What should I do about that?”
“I’m listening,” Rae quickly said.
“What did I say then?” He arched his perfectly groomed eyebrow.
She hated that everything looked good on him. Edmund took very good care of himself. He had said something about having to uphold a certain appearance in front of people, so they never suspected what he was doing behind closed doors.
Not that she could have done something to show them. He rarely let her outside of the house. When he did, he made sure not to hit her for a while so she didn’t have any bruises.
But that was so infrequent. She could count on one hand how many times he allowed her outside when she was with him.
“I’m waiting,” he said.
“You were talking about having your friends come over. How are you going to make them pay a pretty penny?” she parroted to him.
Raelynn had no idea if he’d said anything after that, when she got into her own head.
“You got lucky this time, but don’t expect to be later,” he said.
“You’ve never been the lucky type. Unless you want to say you were lucky in meeting me.
Lucky in me showing you how much I just care for you.
How much I love putting my mark on your smooth skin.
I’m happy to see you were taking care of yourself while you were attempting to run away.
It would have been a travesty not to have your skin this smooth. ”
Daddy had made sure she had everything she needed when he’d decided she was staying with him for the rest of her life. They had gone to the store after she had gotten used to hearing sound again, or as much as she could get used to it.
He had wanted her to get every little thing she might need: lotion for her whole body, lotion just for her face, hand cream, deodorant, two shampoos so that her hair didn’t get used to one, and conditioner.
He had made sure that she had everything he needed, and that had only been part of the toiletry section.
It didn’t include feminine products, makeup, lip balm, towels, hand towels, washcloths, or any of her clothes.
He had wanted her to get some furniture, throw pillows, and Tupperware containers so she had them while she was living there.
That was when she had realized she had to put her foot down on what she would let him buy her.
Because if Daddy had his way, he would buy every single thing she set her eyes on.
Daddy had also apparently done research while they had been apart for so many years. He knew which he thought would be best for her, depending on her flow. To say she was embarrassed in the store was an understatement. It seemed he knew more about the products than she did, and she was the girl.
“You’re gonna have to tell me what all you used the past several months.
Your skin looks so much better than it had before, and I don’t want that to go away.
I’ll have to check whether it’ll be good for you and whether the lotion will make the bruises and cuts disappear faster.
We don’t want that to happen, so if it does, then we’re going to have to figure something else out,” Edmund explained.
“One day, we’ll go online shopping. That way I can monitor you and make sure you don’t do anything you’re not supposed to. ”
Not that he hadn’t done that before. There hadn’t been a time she wasn’t monitored with him. He was a control freak, and anything that threatened his control was automatically stopped.
“Would you like to do that soon?” he asked.
She nodded.
“Bitch.” He fisted her hair and yanked her head forward. “You know I like words. When I ask a question, you answer with words. I don’t want to see just your measly nods. I want your words. Next time, there will be consequences. Do you understand?”
“Yes, sir,” she gently said.
Edmund let go of her hair before standing. “Good. If you do anything out of line, then I’ll let my friends have their way with you, no matter how little money they’re willing to offer. So, you’d better be wise and follow everything I say to the tee.”
“I’ll try my hardest.”
He topped his chin before shaking his head. “Actually, I might take out your external processor before I let them have their way with you. You’re far more attached to that than you are worried about getting beaten.”
She kept her expression neutral, hoping she didn’t give anything away. A beating she could take and heal from, but if he took away her external processor, then she wouldn’t be able to hear anything. She would be in the dark, both audibly and in sight.
“You think I won’t, but I will. I had my men tell me how you looked when they were trying to figure out where you were.
You were smiling and laughing the day you got taken.
All because you can hear now,” he said. “So, that will be your next punishment when you’re extremely naughty.
I think I might talk to my friend to see if we can reserve the surgery and do something to make it where you won’t be able to hear a thing ever again, no matter how advanced the technology is. ”
“I promise I’ll be good,” Rae quickly said. “I won’t do anything bad.”
“ I’ll be back later with a friend. Be good and don’t try to do anything. Just sit here like the doll you are,” he said as he walked to the door.
Rae opened her mouth but quickly closed it. What would he deem as extremely naughty? Raelynn didn’t have a system to base it on. Even when she had lived with him, he would often change his.
He wanted to keep her on her toes.
“Did you have something to say?” he asked. “You can ask one question today. I will answer truthfully.”
She knew not to ask about the scale and how it was going to work. It would be foolish, and she knew she would surely get in trouble for that.
“Did Demi get there safely?” she finally asked.
There were probably a million things she should ask right now, but that was the only thing that came to her mind.
Raelynn knew not to ask any questions about Butch unless she wanted to get beaten, and she knew not to ask about his friends and what was going to happen.
She really was concerned about Demi and if she had gotten there safely.
“Yes, she did,” he replied.
“Did they pick her up? Did they find her? Is she still alive?” Raelynn couldn’t help but ask.
She thought Edmund would have given her more, that he would have divulged what had happened.
“You should have been more specific with your question if you wanted to know more. You just asked whether she got there safely, and I gave you an honest answer.” He chuckled. “Silly you. I thought you would have remembered to be more specific.”
“Wait. Let me redo it,” she begged.
Edmund shook his head. “Too late for that. I gave you your one question, and you’ve used it up. Next time, think about it before blurting it out.”
Raelynn struggled against the rope, trying to free her hands, but it just made the it dig into her skin.
“Wait, Edmund, please. Is she still alive? You promised that nothing else would happen, and she would be alive,” Raelynn stuttered over her words.
“And I did make sure that nothing happened to her. She was alive when they dropped her off. But after that was none of my concern. You only requested she would be alive when delivered, which I upheld,” Edmund explained. “Be more specific when you request things as well.”
Edmund shut the door before she could say anything. How could she have been so stupid? During the past several months with Daddy, she hadn’t needed to worry about anything. Raelynn had gotten so comfortable being free to ask whatever questions she wanted, as many as she could.
Tears ran down her face and she blinked, hoping that it would get rid of some of the darkness, but it didn’t.
Everything around her looked bleak, like Daddy wasn’t trying to find her.
Maybe Edmund was right in saying Daddy wasn’t going to come for her.
Maybe he’d realized that she was going to be far more work than he wanted.
“I’m sorry, Daddy,” she whispered as she curled in on herself.
