11. Wolfe #2

I kept my gun raised, knowing this was some kind of setup.

Warren stepped into view with his pistol and pointed it right against Leo’s temple.

In slacks, dress shoes, and a blazer, he looked like an obnoxious businessman instead of a real person.

His dark eyes met my stare with as much hostility as I gave him.

“If you want the last Mancini to live, you’ll get the fuck off my property. ”

“Your property?”

I heard Francesca behind me and hoped she would stay there.

“Asshole, what the fuck did you just say?” Francesca moved past the guys and came to the front.

I immediately stepped toward her to try to block her again instead of verbally reprimanding her in the presence of our enemies. But she’d agreed to stay behind me until I told her otherwise, and I was pissed she’d disregarded that. She was obviously just caught up in the moment, but still.

She shoved me hard with her shoulder to get out of her way. When I didn’t move, she walked around. “You think I give a damn about this rat? He betrayed my father and me, so either you shoot him in the head or I shoot him in the head.”

Warren kept the gun pressed to Leo’s temple.

Leo shook as he trembled, his breathing so haywire it was audible. He knew there was no way he was getting out of this alive, and he struggled to make peace with the end.

Francesca continued to stare Warren down. “You think I’m bluffing?” She pulled out her pistol from the back of her jeans and pointed it right at Warren’s head. “How about this? You shoot him, and then I shoot you. It’ll be a lovely full circle moment.”

Warren stared at her with a steady hand, clearly unsure how to process this.

I wanted to intervene, but I couldn’t lie, I was a bit turned on when Francesca went full Mafia on people. She had that tinge of insanity that I had, that same authority her father possessed. And when someone pissed her off, she was explosive.

Leo whimpered from the floor. “I’m sorry, Frankie.”

Then she screamed. “Shoot him!”

Warren continued to stare her down, trying to figure out escape options while keeping a close eye on her at the same time. Clearly, he didn’t know what to make of the situation.

“Shoot this worthless piece of shit, or I’ll shoot you.” She walked right up to him and pressed her gun into his forehead. She was several inches shorter, but somehow, she matched his height in that moment. She cocked the gun as the metal rested against his head.

The second he shot Leo, Warren was dead, so he was clearly trying to find a way out of this.

I clicked my tongue as I shook my head. “Ooh…Mommy’s mad.”

He discreetly moved his fingers into his left pocket, probably to grab a knife.

I was just about to warn Francesca when she fired the gun.

The front of his head exploded from her gun being at point-blank range, and blood splashed all over her cheeks and the front of her shirt.

Warren fell back and hit the floor.

Leo let out a terrified scream and whimpered like he was next.

Francesca stood over Warren’s body and aimed the gun at his face. “Fuck.” She shot him in the face. “You.” She fired again. “You.” Again. “Motherfucker.” She had two more shots left, so she aimed the gun at his dick and fired. The only thing left was the scent of gunfire from her pistol.

Now was not the time to be turned on, but daaaayyyuuuumm.

“Frankie…”

Next, she turned to her brother, who was still on the floor, and kicked him in the face.

He hit the floor again, his face bloody from a broken nose.

“You worthless piece of shit.” Her shotgun hung in front of her by the strap, so she aimed it before she kicked him again, forcing him onto his back so she could aim the gun right in his face.

I didn’t intervene. Francesca was the judge, jury, and executioner in this instance.

“Frankie…” Leo started to sob. “I’m sorry… I’m sorry… I would take it back if I could.”

“You can’t. So you’re going to die now.”

“Then kill me.” The tears disappeared as soon as they came because they flowed into the blood that pooled around his nose. “But I want you to know I regret it all. I regret it…so much. Dad—” His voice cracked. “Dad wasn’t supposed to die.”

She continued to hold the powerful gun in her hand. When she fired it, his head would literally explode into chunks. There would be no chance to come back from that. The only emotion in those beautiful green eyes was hate. Ice-cold, explosive, vindictive hate.

If it were me, I wasn’t sure if I would kill him, but that wasn’t my decision.

“You have to believe me.”

“If Dad were here right now, he’d shoot you himself.”

He nodded as he continued to cry. “I know.”

“So now, that responsibility has fallen to me.”

When she passed her judgment, he closed his eyes, not wanting to see it happen.

She didn’t tremble as she held the gun over him, didn’t even blink.

She reminded me of myself when I had one of my maniacal episodes, so crazy she was actually calm.

She continued to stare down at her prey with pure disgust. In that moment, they weren’t family.

He was a traitor to her blood, the enemy who toppled her castle and killed her king.

But to my surprise, she lowered the gun.

She turned it around and slammed the butt right into his face.

He cried out and gripped his face, a new geyser of blood exploding. “Fuck.”

She turned back to Warren and aimed the shotgun at his destroyed visage and fired both of the shots, exploding his head and leaving nothing but a pile of brains and pieces of skull. She looked over her shoulder at Leo. “Get the fuck out. Come back, and I’ll shoot you in the fucking face.”
