Chapter 2 #2

“The fuck were you doing in my sister’s room?” she asked as he walked past her, buckling his belt in the same way her father used to after he came out of Tina’s room.

“I was just saying hi.”

Dru pushed the door open so hard and fast it hit the wall.

Her eyes landed on Dreya, whose knees were pulled up to her chest as she rocked with tears streaming down her cheeks.

Though it was clear she’d been violated to some capacity, Dru still asked, “He touched you?” Dreya’s eyes shifted toward her sister.

“Did he rape you?” Dru asked, heart pounding so hard she was sure it would come out of her chest.

Dreya’s head shook as she wiped her face. It was sad to say, but this wouldn’t have been the first time a man Tina invited over had violated Dreya, or Dru for that matter.

“Mama made me—” Her hand wrapped around her throat as if it wouldn’t allow her to get the words out. “S-she made me s-suck his . . .”

When her tears started back up, Dru had heard all she needed to hear. Pulling her knife out of her purse, she dropped the purse onto the floor and charged down the stairs. Her steps sped up at the sight of Quenton heading for the front door.

“Aye!” she yelled, lifting the knife to throw at him. “You made my sister suck your geriatric dick?”

Quenton turned to face her with a smile, but his eyes widened and mouth dropped at the sight of the knife flying in his direction. As soon as it connected with his shoulder, he yelled.

“Damn. I was aiming for your chest,” she mumbled, walking over to him.

“Are you fucking crazy?” Quenton roared, pulling the knife out and tossing it to the floor.

“What the hell is going on down here?” Tina asked, rushing down the stairs.

Dru reached for the knife, but Quenton pushed her away. He grabbed it and straddled her, putting the blade to her neck.

“Your daughter just threw a damn knife at me. I should kill her, and it would be self-defense.”

Dru spit in his face, and it left him so caught off guard she was able to push him off her when he wiped it away. A punch to his jaw threw his balance off, and he fell onto his back. As quickly as she reached for the knife, his grip on it was still too strong.

“Dru, that’s enough!” Tina yelled. “Leave that man alone before he asks me for his damn money back.”

Unable to believe the words coming out of her mother’s mouth, she briefly looked back at Tina, and Quenton capitalized. His hands wrapped around her neck, and he squeezed until she lost consciousness.

By the time she woke up, Quenton was gone, and Dreya was sitting next to her on her bed.

“You’re heavy,” Dreya teased with a soft smile as Dru sat up. “I had to carry you all the way up here on my back.”

Dru looked around her room as if it was the first time she’d ever been there before.

“What happened?” Dru asked.

“Quenton choked you out and then left.”

Dru’s hand absently went to her sore throat. That would explain why she was in pain. Sighing, Dru looked her sister over for any bruises.

“Tell me what happened, Dre.”

Dreya’s head hung and shook. “I can’t. He made me promise—”

“Did that man rape you? Tell me the truth.”

Gritting her teeth, Dreya avoided her eyes.

“Mama said I just had to get him off and he’d pay the light bill and get us some groceries, so I did.

But after that, he wanted more.” Her shoulders dropped.

“I said no and fought him off, but I wasn’t strong enough.

” Her tears started to pour, so she paused and wiped them away.

“He said if I told anyone that he’d come back and kill us all. So you can’t call the police, Dru.”

Dru’s body warmed as she stared at her sister.

Talking about being raped shouldn’t have been a casual conversation between the two.

As much as Dru tried to protect her sister, being violated by men was one thing she’d been unable to spare Dreya from.

And what made it worse was the fact that being violated was Tina’s doing.

Tina had no problem selling her pussy for money, and over the years, she’d sold her daughters’ too.

The first time she pimped Dru out, Dru was too young to understand what was happening.

By the time Dreya’s body started to fill out and Tina’s male company looked at her a little too long, Dru made her mother promise to never let a man violate her.

Tina agreed, but that was a lie. Unfortunately, Dru was never able to catch or find the other two men who’d violated her sister before, but this time, she knew who it was, and she was going to make sure Quenton and her mother paid.

“Have you already taken a shower?” Dru asked. “I need to take you to the hospital so they can do a rape kit.”

“No!” Dreya yelled firmly. “I’m not telling anyone what he did. He showed me his gun, Sister. I’m not letting him come back and hurt us.”

“I’ll take care of him. I can handle this legally or illegally. We can go to the hospital and file a police report or—”

“Please, Dru! I don’t want anyone to know about this.”

When her eyes watered, Dru gently pulled Dreya close and held her. This wasn’t just fear; it was shame too. Shame over something she had no control over.

“Shh.” Dru whispered against Dreya’s head as she cried. “You have nothing to fear or be ashamed of. What happened tonight was not your fault. I promise I’m going to take care of it.”

“I’m so tired of this, Dru.” Dreya sobbed, causing Dru to close her eyes as they watered.

“I know, baby. I’m so sorry.”

At that moment, not talking no longer mattered. Taking a shower and going to sleep no longer mattered. All that mattered was her sister’s shattered innocence and peace, and Dru was going to make sure both Tina and Quenton paid the price for disrupting both.
