Chapter 4Cain
Chapter Four
CAIN
U nfuckingbelievable.
When Scotch said he would reach out to someone he thought could help us out, I wasn’t expecting that person to be a girl.
Those curves. Jesus fucking christ. They’re not in your face. More in a subtle ‘I have a little in all of the right places’ way. And that rack? I never considered myself to be a tit man, but I wouldn’t pass the chance to see how they fit in my hand. And those fucking eyes. Are they different colors? I could have sworn one was blue and the other was green. I had already been staring at her for too long without saying anything that I couldn’t just ask. That would just make me sound like a fucking dipshit, so I did the only thing I could.
I left.
I bang my fist as hard as I can against the door to Scotch’s room. “Yo, fucker! Open up!” I don’t even let ten seconds pass before pounding on the door again.
My fist is raised, ready to pound again before it flies open. “What?” Scotch glares.
My eyebrows raise at his tone. “Get your ass up. Evan is here. You have some fucking explaining to do.”
“Fuck.” Scotch runs a hand down his face. “Yeah. I’ll be right out.” He starts to turn back into his room before he stops. “Look… just don’t freak out on Evan. She’s been through a lot, and I promise she’ll keep her mouth shut about all of this, but I really think she can help us out.”
I grunt in response. I don’t know what the hell he was thinking when he thought it would be a good idea to have her help us out. Scotch knows the rules; nothing with a pussy gets involved in our shit. Unless they’re an old lady, but even that doesn’t mean they’re involved directly. They get the bare minimum side details. It’s more of a way to just vent and release some stress.
I just finish pouring a drink as Scotch enters my office. “Sit the fuck down and start explaining this shit.”
Scotch lets out a long sigh as he reclines back in the old leather chair in front of my desk. “Evan and I go way back. I met her in one of my foster homes, and we just clicked. She’s the closest thing to family I have, and in my eyes, she’s my sister. She’s the only person I can count on outside of the club.”
“Why have you never mentioned her before?” I can’t lie and say that I don’t feel slightly put off by this. I don’t like being blindsided like that. I’ve known Scotch for over a decade. Even when we were in the Army, I didn’t hear shit about someone named Evan.
“Because I didn’t think she needed to be brought up. She hasn’t had an easy start in life, and Evan just likes to keep to herself. Now if you’re done riding my ass, can I explain how I think she can help us out?”
My eyes narrow at his tone. “Watch it.”
“No offense, Prez. I’m just protective of her. As I was saying, keeping to herself means Evan hates people, so obviously, she would hate having a job with others.” My eyebrow arches for him to continue. “She grows.”
Well, I wasn’t expecting him to say that. She looked like she would be a tattoo artist or some shit with all of her ink and black and purple hair. Hair I wouldn’t mind seeing covering my thighs while she’s sucking my cock. “On what scale? Are we talking ‘I just want to grow enough to cover what I smoke,’ or are we talking a ‘moving product’ level?”
“She’s moving it. I usually go with her when she drops it to her guy,” Scotch admits.
Are you fucking kidding me? Not sharing every time you piss, I get. Not sharing every time you fuck a club slut, I get. But if you’re part of this club and you’re helping out with random drops on the side, I think that’s something I should know. “Again, why is this the first time I’m hearing about this?”
Scotch runs his hands roughly down his face as he sighs. “I don’t know. I don’t want to bullshit an answer because I don’t have one. I just didn’t think I needed to tell anyone about her.”
“You didn’t think that you being directly involved in these drops couldn’t possibly blow back on the club?”
“I didn’t think past just helping my sister out.”
My eyes haven’t left his as I search for any signs of doubt. Satisfied with not finding any, I say, “Don’t let it happen again.” I wait for his nod before pushing out of my chair. He knows this is the only chance he gets with me letting something like this slide.
“Let’s go have a chat with Ms. Evan.”
