Chapter Twenty-Four

Samantha threw the staff in the air, and just before she caught it, she did a turn and landed in a perfect split dance. The song blaring through the speakers was drowned out by Angel’s clapping and one very impressive whistle.

“Exquisite. Magnifico,” called Angel and gave another round of applause. “You’re really getting the hang of this fire-less dancing.”

Samantha chuckled and dropped the staff to the floor moments before she dropped her bra to her feet. Another item of clothing was discarded. The only item left was a pair of black lacy panties.

A week ago, Angel had bought Samantha a new staff for her twenty-ninth birthday on the grounds that she never ignited the wicker. So far, it was going well, especially considering they used the staff as a sort of strip tease. A little role-play before the main event.

“How about we change the song? I’m thinking Earned It by the Weekend.”

“Done,” said Angel. She was sitting on the sofa, one leg crossed over the other, the curtains drawn behind her.

She was completely naked. Her breasts were bare and beautiful, and every now and then she’d uncross her legs and open them up like Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct, and Samantha would experience a delectable hot flush creeping along her arms and legs.

The song started.

Picking up the staff again, Samantha swung her hips side to side and threw the staff up in the air, giving just enough weight that it flew below the ceiling.

It was the Blazing Helix, and it wasn’t the first time Samantha had performed it for Angel in her living room, and it wouldn’t be the last. When the staff dropped to the floor this time, Angel was on her knees, ready to catch it.

Kneeling right in front of Samantha now, Angel’s face was in line with Samantha’s hips.

She discarded the staff to the sofa, and stroked her palm over Samantha’s thighs, running them up as her thumbs brushed over the wetness of Samantha’s panties and clipped her fingers beneath the fabric, pulling them down.

Just watching Angel pull her panties down, her mouth inches from Samantha’s sex, was so hot.

She was sure she’d come without needing even a single touch.

But Angel made sure she wouldn’t. As all the times before, Angel touched and let go, touched, and let go, until Samantha was a writhing mess begging her to stop.

Tonight was one of those nights.

When Angel brushed her lips softly over Samantha’s sex, she grabbed hold of the back of Samantha’s knees, urging them slightly apart before using them for stability.

And then she dug her tongue deeply into Samantha’s slick folds.

Up and down and sideways. The feeling was so amazing, Samantha closed her eyes in bliss.

She was concentrating on the warm wetness of Angel’s tongue as she moaned, “Oh fuck. You have to stop, babe. I’m already so close. And this is a marathon, not a sprint.”

“Who says,” whispered Angel and wrapped her mouth over Samantha’s clit, sucking and biting and applying pressure with her tongue.

Samantha was in a trance now. A very wonderful, drugless trance. She could stay there forever, swaying lightly side to side while Angel held onto her legs like roots and satisfied her completely and selflessly.

Opening her eyes, Samantha looked down and ran her fingers through Angel’s blonde hair. Her grip tightened and instead of pressing Angel closer to her, urging her to go on, she moved Angel’s head away.

Sometimes you had to give in order to get, and Samantha knew that the only way she could get complete satisfaction was to give.

Not that Angel allowed it easily. Samantha had come to know that Angel liked to be dominant, but she also loved to be dominated.

The only way to do that was to be strict.

Demanding. To speak clearly and loudly. To break down Angel’s need for control.

“What are you doing?” frowned Angel and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. “You can’t be finished yet.”

“I’m not,” breathed Samantha, her sex throbbing as though it had its own heartbeat. “Now get up, and no objecting.”

Angel smiled softly, hungrily. She did as she was told. Once she got to her feet, Angel kept her arms hanging by her side, and allowed Samantha to grab her hips, urging her toward the sofa and pushing her down onto it until she flopped back into its cushions.

“Now open your legs.”

Angel complied. She opened her legs, showing off the blushing folds of her sex.

“Good. Now sit back and enjoy.” It was Samantha who knelt this time. When Angel lifted her legs up, holding onto her ankles, exposing herself even more, Samantha stuck out her tongue and dove right in, tasting the sweet and delicious wetness of her essence. A taste of an angel.

She pressed her palms against the back of Angel’s thighs, dug her fingers into the velvety soft flesh of her legs, and stroked Angel’s folds with her tongue, up and down, up and down before diving deeply into her.

When Angel moaned, Samantha inched a hand up to Angel’s breast and pinched a nipple.

It was clear what Samantha was doing. She was undoing Angel like a present and then wrapping her up again.

Again and again, until Angel’s groans were so loud, and her hips rocked almost violently into Samantha’s face, urging her deeper.

It was less than a few minutes later that Angel had finished and maneuvered Samantha until she was lying on the floor on her back. Angel was grinding her hips against hers, riding her harder and faster until that same heat from before, the heat that hadn’t yet dissipated, came forth like a volcano.

Samantha clung onto Angel’s back, her legs wrapped around her, her heels digging into Angel’s quadratus lumborum—Samantha knew the name of the muscle since she had taken up a new hobby and was learning the art of massage—as she blew a hot, finished breath against Angel’s neck.

“I think I’m finally mastering the Blazing Helix,” whispered Samantha.

A second later, Angel’s body began to shake with laughter. “I think you are,” she managed as she rolled off Samantha onto her back. “That was probably your best one yet.”

For a few long moments, they lay there, their bellies rising and falling with their breaths. The sweaty beads of their efforts seeped back into their skin.

Angel reached out and slipped her fingers between Samantha’s, intertwining them like vines of a trellis before she said, “Let’s move into your house.”

The question of which house to move into had been on Samantha’s mind since the mention of moving in together at dinner.

Angel’s townhouse was modern, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a study upstairs.

There was even a neat and manicured garden with an enormous tree at the back for Ginny.

It was everything they’d need. Samantha’s house was bigger, with more bedrooms, but it was old and outdated and needed a lot of work.

Floorboards creaked and there was some rust on the back bedroom windows.

There was a suspicious-looking brown patch on the ceiling of the garage, and the entire plumbing needed replacing in a few short years.

Every time Samantha turned on the second bathroom tap, the entire house groaned and shuddered.

Yet it had been her dear grandmother’s house. A house with millions of warm, lovely memories. A house with old lady laughter imbued into the walls, the forgotten smells of cooking hovering in the air, and the markings of Samantha’s height over the years on the back of the kitchen door.

Keeping their fingers entwined, Samantha turned onto her side and faced Angel. “Are you sure? We can always toss a coin for it.” She would hope her grandmother’s juju would turn the coin in her favor.

Angel shook her head. “No. I can’t imagine you living anywhere else but your house. Since my mortgage is paid off, we can rent my house out for now and use that to fix up some of the things that need fixing at your place. Like first on that list is that tap that groans all the time.”

“You noticed that, hey?” asked Samantha with a giggle.

“It’s impossible not to. I think the first time I opened the tap, and the house began to scream, I screamed too. You just didn’t hear me because the tap was so much louder.”

Laughing, Samantha dropped Angel’s hand and instead scooted herself closer. She wanted to be as close to Angel as possible. Running a finger along the curve of Angel’s hip, she asked, “Are you sure you want to move in with me?”

The sides of Angel’s lips quirked up and her eyes, her lovely green eyes were locked tightly onto Samantha’s. “I’ve never been so sure of anything in my life.”

“You’re not worried I’m going to leave the oven on and burn the house down, or accidentally leave the tap running and flood the floors, or leave the front door unlocked with the key inside? By the way, I’ve done all of those things before.”

Angel gave it a thought. “If you asked me that a few months ago, I would’ve said yes. Definitely. Terrified that you’d probably do something spontaneous and dangerous and irresponsible. But now…” her voice trailed off as her eyes locked onto something behind Samantha, the curtains perhaps.

“But now, what?” asked Samantha with a slight scrunch of her eyebrows.

It wasn’t the time for Angel to second guess moving in together.

The key she had offered up at dinner, although symbolic since they’d probably move into Samantha’s house, was a tangible gesture of commitment.

It represented a new, exciting chapter in their life, and they couldn’t possibly start that chapter with uncertainty.

Angel brought her gaze back to Samantha’s face. “Now, I can’t imagine my life without that little added risk. Without you. So, I’ll just be sure to check the locks every night before bed and the oven before we leave anywhere. And I’ll make sure to listen out for the dripping of a tap.”

The love within Samantha’s chest swelled up like a tidal wave crashing over her.

She had never experienced love like that before, all-consuming, all-encompassing, filling every crevice and reach of her small body.

It was a love that was so blissful and delicious and safe and comfortable that she was sure it would stay with her forever.

“You’d do that for me?”

“I’d do anything for you, Sam,” smiled Angel and ran her palm along Samantha’s arm.

Goosebumps prickled her skin. “Because I know that you’ll do anything for me.

I knew that from the start. Most people only love with half of their hearts, maybe even just a quarter, and that’s fine.

It’s enough to get by. But you, Sam, you love with your whole heart. ”

Samantha didn’t have to say anything after that.

All she had to do was climb on top of Angel, embrace the hot feeling between her legs as she pressed her mouth down hard against her girlfriend’s, and know that it was true.

Angel had woven herself into every fiber of Samantha’s heart.

Through all the chambers and blood vessels and delicate valves, becoming as essential to her as the rhythm that kept it beating.

She truly loved her.

After a few amazing seconds of kissing, Angel unlocked her lips from Samantha’s and gripped her hips before she said, “You better kick Matty out soon, Sam. Like tomorrow.”

“Done,” grinned Samantha.
