Chapter Thirteen

Morgan had no idea what had come over her.

She wasn’t sure if it was the beer or the flickering flames or the intense sweetness of the s’mores that made her act like she was invincible.

She was behaving like she was the main character of her own movie, confidently waltzing through the deep dark woods as if there was some beacon of light she needed to chase down, a mission to complete.

It was dangerous. Reckless. Stupid even, because who the hell went wandering off into the woods at night? Only silly people with a penchant for attracting bears. Or worse, men who acted like bears.

Morgan had no idea where she was or where she was headed, but she knew one thing: Sydney was right behind her.

She could hear the padded thumps of Sydney’s footsteps on the forest floor and the soft rhythm of her breathing.

Her senses felt heightened. Her ears were picking up every sound, and her eyes were becoming more in tune with the darkness of the night.

Not to mention the electric thrill coursing through her body.

She was practically buzzing and had no idea what had started it.

Maybe it was the way Sydney kept catching her gaze all evening, holding it just long enough for a spark to ignite before dropping it like a hot piece of coal.

Or maybe it was the way both Morgan and Sydney had seemed to gravitate toward each other, inching closer along that log until even Liv raised an eyebrow when Sydney’s pinky finger brushed against Morgan’s.

Or maybe Morgan wasn’t a cut above the rest. Maybe she was like everyone else, with primal urges, deep-rooted desires to be wanted, to be desired, to be fucked.

All Morgan did know was that if she had gone to sleep right now instead of fucking Sydney, she wouldn’t survive the night.

“Where are you going?”

Morgan whipped around. She didn’t say anything. She only closed the gap between them and slid her palms across Sydney’s cheeks, bringing her mouth right up against her own.

The woman groaned. That groan was everything and more. It tore Morgan up from the inside. She could barely breathe. Her heartbeat seemed to be everywhere but in her chest. It was beating in the crook of her arms, between her thighs, and behind her eyes.

The pressure worsened when Sydney broke the kiss and skimmed her lips over Morgan’s neck, moving her mouth down to her collarbone.

Morgan felt like she was about to burst.

But she kept herself together—barely—and directed Sydney to the nearest tree.

They were far enough away from the campsite that Morgan could easily imagine they were the only two people left in the world.

But they were close enough that if they happened to be attacked by a wild creature, their screams would easily be heard.

“This is a first for me,” Morgan muttered, breaking the kiss just long enough for those few words to slip from her lips.

“What is?” mumbled Sydney. Her hands hadn’t stopped roaming. Her palms were now skidding down the outside of Morgan’s thighs, moving inward and coming back up until her fingers teased over the inside of her jeans.

“This,” Morgan said, bringing Sydney’s mouth back to hers. “Kissing in the woods.”

“Really?” Sydney frowned, angling her head back. “Didn’t you mention on the way here that you went to an all-girls school?”

“Is that really what you think happens at girl’s schools? You think they just go out into the woods and make out with each other?”

“Pretty much,” Sydney chuckled.

Morgan pulled a face, which quickly faded when Sydney pressed her mouth hard against Morgan’s, resuming the kiss.

Her breath, which tasted like beer and sweet marshmallows, was more intoxicating than Morgan could ever imagine.

She wanted this woman more than she had wanted anything else for a very long time.

“Just so you know, I haven’t done this before either.” Sydney exhaled into Morgan’s mouth, her fingers sinking into her curls.

“A first time for both of us then,” Morgan whispered, moving her hands up from Sydney’s hips, and skating them across the woman’s stomach.

She tugged at Sydney’s T-shirt until her palms felt warm, bare skin.

But Morgan didn’t yank the shirt over Sydney’s head like she wanted to.

Nope. Not yet anyway. Not until she had stretched time like it didn’t exist. She wanted this to last forever.

Morgan moved her hands over Sydney’s T-shirt-clad breasts, felt their pillowy softness, squeezed them both tenderly, and smiled when Sydney groaned.

Heck, Morgan was basically beaming.

Her hands made it to Sydney’s cheeks, and she pulled her face even closer, though it wasn’t possible.

They were already flush against each other, stomachs touching, hips pushed tightly against each other, lips collided.

Morgan deepened the kiss, sucking on Sydney’s bottom lip before she stuck her tongue inside.

Slow, Morgan thought. There’s no reason to rush. Prolong it, Morgan. It’s the only time your mind is truly blank.

Sydney, on the other hand, hadn’t gotten the memo. She slipped a hand inside Morgan’s shorts and moved down, palming over the center of Morgan’s panties, making her squirm.

Morgan was wet. She knew that. She could feel the heat between her legs, and judging by the smile on Sydney’s face, the woman knew it, too.

For a moment there, Sydney worked her fingers over the silk of Morgan’s panties, pressing and roaming and making Morgan’s knees wobbly.

Then, when Sydney slipped her fingers beneath the fabric, dipping them into her wet heat, Morgan could respond in no other way than to push her hips against Sydney’s hand.

Sydney slipped one finger in and out before adding another. The feeling was so fucking good, Morgan moaned. So much so that Sydney placed her free palm across Morgan’s mouth.

“Shhh. There’s literally a campsite right over there,” Sydney whispered as she took her fingers out and pointed. Squinting through the canopy of leaves, her eyes gleamed in the faint glow of the moon.

“It’s not that close,” Morgan managed to say. She couldn’t even spot the embers of their campfire, much less the silhouettes of their tents. Besides, they were probably all sleeping. It was interesting to learn that people who camped went to bed fairly early.

“Close enough,” Sydney mused as her lips quirked into a faint smile.

“Fine,” Morgan grinned. She would’ve thought that she would be the one to worry about being overheard, caught in the act, but she wasn’t. When she was with Sydney, she felt lighter. Those pressures she had cloaked herself in eased.

Sydney brought her hand back and pressed her palm against Morgan’s clit, finding it without any hassle.

She then rubbed against her clit while simultaneously slipping her finger in and out, pumping so deliciously that Morgan tilted her head back against the bark.

She ignored the roughness against her occiput.

It was probably the most impressive multitasking Morgan had ever encountered.

“Oh fuck,” Morgan groaned, softer this time. If any campers were awake, they’d think she was just some strange sounding bird.

Slipping in another finger, Sydney pumped harder, faster, while Morgan bucked her hips against Sydney’s wrist. She was sweating. The weather was neither warm nor cold, yet perspiration leaked between her cleavage.

Sydney didn’t stop, not until Morgan broke. Her body was a shuddery mess. Her breath was raspy and her heart was thumping so fast she could count each beat in her ears. “Stop… Oh, fuck. Please. Stop. I’m done,” Morgan mumbled, leaning back against the tree.

Sydney kept her hand in Morgan’s pants until she stopped trembling, and when that moment came, Sydney slipped out her hand and licked both fingers. One at a time.

“Your turn,” Morgan said, feeling a whole new wave of energy.

It was time to give back. To pleasure Sydney as she had pleasured her.

But lying on the dirt-covered ground wasn’t an option.

Hell, she’d rather dive into that river again than get anywhere near the bugs, which were probably crawling all around them.

Going back to the tent wasn’t a good option either.

Liv’s tent was frighteningly close to theirs.

According to what she said in the car on their way there, she was a light sleeper.

Any sort of groaning would surely wake her up.

Morgan had no choice but to be inventive.

She grabbed Sydney by the hips and swiveled her around until Sydney was the one pressed up against the tree. This time, she shrugged off the woman’s shirt, tossed it to the ground, and then did the same with her bra, losing both to the shadows of darkness.

“You’re so damn beautiful,” Morgan said. Her eyes zoned in on Sydney’s perfect breasts, on her hardened nipples. Even in the dim moonlight, Morgan could glimpse enough to know the woman was perfect.

She pressed her mouth hard against Sydney’s again. She then slipped her tongue inside, kissing her hard while her hand worked on Sydney’s breast. Two fingers flicked her nipple.

Sydney moaned, closing her eyes briefly while the teasing went on and only opened them again when Morgan pressed her lips to Sydney’s bare sternum. “Ohhh, I like where this is going.”

“Good,” Morgan winked. She lowered down into a kneel—barely even noticing the roughness of leaves on her bare skin—and pulled Sydney’s jean shorts down, dropping them to the woman’s feet. She did the same with Sydney’s cotton panties. All the while, their gazes held fast to one another.

It was extremely hot––the way Sydney glimpsed down at her from above, face impassive, unreadable. Morgan had to do everything in her power not to stray. It was hard not to divert her gaze to Sydney’s hips, to the slick folds of her wet heat that made everything within Morgan squirm.

There was enough time for that.

And when the moment came to move on, Morgan was ready.

She broke her gaze free and instead focused on the woman’s thighs, her hips, and the strip of pubic hair directing her to exactly where she needed to be.

Morgan pressed her lips softly against Sydney’s right hip, then her left one, then at a spot just below her navel.

Sydney’s skin was soft, silky, and delicious.

Morgan gripped her knees, fingers curling at the back of them, and then she guided only one up and over her shoulder, opening Sydney up so that she could see all of her.

This was a first for Morgan. Not just sex in the woods, or even camping, but sex anywhere other than on a bed.

She wasn’t adventurous. She never explored new positions or places, but with Sydney, everything became a possibility.

This was exciting and thrilling. She loved every minute of it.

So, of course, Morgan remembered a website she had once upon a time stumbled upon with lesbian sex poses and this was number twenty-three; the Take-Out.

The position itself was far easier than Morgan had anticipated. The logistics were simpler than she could ever have imagined. Her head fit in the space between Sydney’s thighs like a perfect puzzle piece.

Morgan stuck out her tongue and slid it along Sydney’s wetness. The woman wriggled, her legs wobbled, and her heel pressed against Morgan’s back. But Morgan didn’t stop or slow down. On the contrary, she sucked and licked and lapped Sydney up like she was delicious golden honey.

Fingers tangled in Morgan’s hair, directing her to go harder, faster.

Which she did so easily while her own body buzzed and hummed.

When Sydney’s heel began to push painfully between Morgan’s shoulder blades, she swapped her tongue for two fingers and ravaged the woman from inside until Sydney’s gasp turned into a whimper and her body stilled.

She collapsed first against the tree and then against Morgan, who caught her easily.

“I have no idea where my clothes are,” Sydney whispered a moment later. Her smile was so wide that Morgan couldn’t help but mirror it.

“To be honest, neither do I. I think I might have tossed them over there.” Morgan blindly searched the ground until she came upon the bundle of Sydney’s clothes. “Found them.”

“I swear if there’s a creepy crawly in my bra––”

A crack of something sounded loudly behind them.

They both jumped, clinging to the other.

“Let’s get back,” Morgan said, her voice panicky now that the endorphins from before were beginning to wear off. “Before we’re mistaken for a snack.”

“Bears rarely come near this campground,” Sydney reassured, but Morgan wasn’t prepared to disprove her theory. She was already moving ahead, though she wasn’t quite sure where to go. In the darkness, all the campsites looked the same.

“I think we’re lost.” Morgan declared after barely ten seconds.

“We’re not.”

“How can you be so sure?”

Sydney yanked her closer, pressing her lips to Morgan’s in a slow, silent kiss. The kiss was more intimate than everything that had just happened. When she finally pulled back, she whispered, “Because we’re standing less than five feet away from our tent.”
